NON MFC: Rd 19 2021
This is a massively different Geelong side to the one we took care of in round 4 (and dare I say it’s also a different MFC side of late)

NON MFC: Rd 19 2021
Smith turning us down was a bit of a disaster for us IMO. He’s exactly what we need. 25 touches and a goal a week on the non Langdon wing.

POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
There must be 2-3 changes next week or Goodwin’s asleep at the wheel.

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Gold Coast
Jackson (3 kicks in 2 weeks), ANB Jordon and Harmes should be under pressure. Time to make some changes when we’re just 2 wins since the Brisbane win, way back in early June. Melksham and Jones probably need to come into the side.

GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
A bloke who’s 164 cm is dominating this game.

COVID & AFL 2021
I reckon we’ll get crowds back in VIC by round 22, assuming lockdown is lifted on schedule. Hopefully we’re still scheduled to play Adelaide that weekend, and it’s not brought forward for any reason.

GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Any chance we could kick more goals than behinds tonight?

NON MFC: Rd 19 2021
Like the look of Henry from Collingwood.

NON MFC: Rd 19 2021
Port love an easy kill. And why do the bottom teams play out of their skins against us but turn to water against the other contenders?

NON MFC: Rd 19 2021
Can someone tell Abbey Holmes to tone down on the dramatics? Pendles has got a minor knock to the leg, not a career ending fractured leg in 8 pieces.

COVID & AFL 2021
Pert will be tipped over the edge if the Adelaide game is brought forward to next week. That’s our last home game (on around 15 Aug) for the year and a chance for a crowd if we come out of lock down next week. No chance we’re having crowds next week in VIC, I wouldn’t think.

COVID & AFL 2021
Whateley is leading the brigade that if the capacity isn't around 55K it shouldn't be at the G.

Dees vs Bulldogs This Week
Absolutely nothing surer.

Ladder Sans Crowds
2-0 at Marvel. 0-2-1 at the G. Some of the crowds we played in front of last year may as well have been NIL. Didn't we get about 125 to Melbourne V Port at the GABBA?

On this day in 1989 ...
So very true. Hawthorn beat Collingwood twice in 1990 including putting 160 points on the pies in round 20. A lot of Collingwood supporters are adamant that there would have been no 1990 premiership had they copped Hawthorn in the finals.

COVID & AFL 2021
Happy to have it in a state where VIC's can enter that state, and thus MFC members with GF priority tickets can fly over. If we come out of lockdown next week and do not have another outbreak, it's highly likely that every state will have opened their borders to VIC by late September.

COVID & AFL 2021
Western Australia should immediately be ruled out as a grand final option. McGowan has twice plunged Perth into lockdown and locked out fans on the morning of game day. How can the AFL take that risk? It would be an absolute embarrassment and a farce if that worst case scenario transpired. Play it in QLD if they have to, or suck it up and cop a 40,000 crowd at the MCG as a show of goodwill to Victorians who have clearly done it the toughest since March 2020.

TEAMS: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Agreed. 1 kick/1 mark games like last week aren't going to cut it at this level. Performances like that are what cost Weid's spot in the side. Needs to increase his output over the next few weeks or we risk carrying a player into the finals.

TEAMS: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
No doubt he’ll probably play his first good game in 3 years.

TEAMS: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Dogs going all of Naughton, Bruce, Ugle-Hagen and Shache. Looks potent on paper, if the latter 2 snags some goals along with Naughton and Bruce.

COVID & AFL 2021
Yes we have been lucky with babies being born away from game day. However, T Mac could've been excused for taking personal leave the weekend his wife was due to give birth. His mind wasn't on the job the day we played Collingwood, and perfectly understandable.

On this day in 1989 ...
This win and the win over Hawthorn at Princes Park were certainly our watershed moments of 1989. Not sure what it was about the Dees but we couldn't get pass second base in 89/90/91 despite showing great promise in all three seasons.

Dees vs Bulldogs This Week
I could be wrong but if at 10pm Saturday night you look at the scoreboard and we have more goals than behinds, you'll most likely be singing the MFC song. Accuracy has now had a direct result on 2 of our last 3 games of footy.

Dermott Brereton on Bayley Fritsch
His hatred of the MFC is just plain unprofessional and blindingly obvious. He's always making subtle or obvious digs at the Dees. An example being that the day after our finest win of the season against the Dogs at their joint, Huddo and King were rightly raving about our win on the Fox Footy Saturday midday show. Meanwhile this bloke who has a clear hatred of the MFC had the temerity to claim that the Bulldogs were pretty much the better side on the night aside from conceding a few goals in the first quarter. He labelled the 9-1 Bulldogs performance as 'brave' and that the MFC pretty much stopped to a halt after qtr time despite extending the lead to 41 points in the last quarter. It might be time for him to be replaced with some fresh/younger analysts.
