When was the last time you watched Melbourne lose?
It's a cruel irony that it played out that way though. Home and away - GWS rd 16 2021 Pre season - Carlton 2022.

Low Attendance
Looking at the remaining home game schedule there is a possibility we could have just one or even no more day games after St Kilda. The Port game is in Alice so it's irrelevant, and I'm sure at least one of the Collingwood and Carlton games will be at night.

Low Attendance
39,000 was a good solid crowd for a 4:35 twilight game against a rebuilding side. We may be getting past the COVID hesitant era. If Carlton are still in the hunt in round 22, that could be a massive pay day for us. Maybe 60,000 provided it's not a twilight game.

VOTES : Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
He's having a great year and should retain his spot once Salem returns.

Farewell Luke Jackson
If Luke wants to hold us over a barrel and ask for a massive pay day for a 3rd year player and thus compromise our ability to re-sign Oliver - one of the MFC’s best ever midfielder, then we shake his hand, thank him for his brief service at the club and seek the best compensation. As Matthew Richardson commented, the money that’s been mooted for LJ should be reserved for players that rip an entire game apart, not for a cameo here and there, or a strong quarter within an otherwise quiet game which is quite common for Jackson at this stage of his career.

NON-MFC: Round 07, 2022
Really hope we don’t do a West Coast. Content with one flag and then go backwards at a million knots an hour.

NON-MFC: Round 07, 2022
Can't wait to sit back tonight and watch the match of the round between Sydney and Brisbane.....oh wait wrong game. It's the battle between a team that's falling down the premiership cliff at great speed versus a side that's been flogged by a combined 147 points over the last fortnight. Revolving fixture working beautifully. Wouldn't be surprised if Port knock off St Kilda this week, and GC to beat Collingwood for my two smokies.

FIXTURE: Rd 12 to 15
At the end of the day, the Dees V Brisbane game deserved to be on the number 1 timeslot for that weekend, being Friday night, however we got a bit unlucky with the timing. The Melbourne V Carlton game can't be Friday night as there are three Marvel games on that weekend which would need to be spread over 3 days, assuming no Thursday night game that weekend. That game could be a bumper crowd regardless of timeslot, perhaps out biggest home crowd of the year. The Melbourne V Collingwood game can be on Friday night but I have my doubts whether Collingwood will be in the hunt by round 21. I can see our Geelong and Bulldogs away games being Friday nights but they get the proceeds not us.

FIXTURE: Rd 12 to 15
The Dogs have a Saturday night game the week before and would thus only have a 5 day break into the Thursday night game which you have proposed above. The problem here is that the Dogs would have already copped a 5 day break from round 7 into 8 and therefore are unable to have anther 5 day break.

FIXTURE: Rd 12 to 15
As I predicted above, I had a feeling they'd give us a Thursday night game for the Brisbane MCG game. Both sides have the bye the week before so they were able to easily slot this game for a Thursday.

FIXTURE: Rd 12 to 15
Just mention to your wife the you missed the majority of games in 2020 and 2021 including one pretty big game in particular, and I'm sure you'll then get a leave pass. Agree with you in that Mother's Day is a poor fixture and the AFL deliberately have two Friday night games that weekend in order to play one less game on the Sunday.
-
FIXTURE: Rd 12 to 15
On another matter the Swans V Lions game this weekend should not be the 4:40 Sunday slot. It's the game of the week and should be on prime time.

FIXTURE: Rd 12 to 15
Sydney play two Friday night games in a row before our meeting in round 12 so they might go for some variety and put the Dogs V Geelong game on Friday night. Collingwood can't play Hawthorn on that Friday night as they've already had a 5 day break and play on Sunday in round 11. For round 15 (Melbourne V Brisbane), they would've chosen Geelong V Richmond forever and a day for Friday night but I don't think you can go pass the perceived number 1 v number 2 seed for the Friday night game that weekend. Sydney V St Kilda an outside chance for Friday night, therefore giving us either Thursday or Saturday night. For a leftfield prediction, They may indeed give us Thursday night for Melbourne V Brisbane, so they have the 5 day break policy up their sleeve and thus give us another Thursday night game later in the year. We and Brisbane both have the bye the week before so the AFL can easily schedule a Thursday night game for this one.

Goodwin, Jackson, Pickett, Sparrow, Petty & Neal-Bullen All Out with COVID
As Dan Andrews said in every second presser - "this thing spreads like wild fire". I'd say we'd be naïve to think there won't be more players to test positive through to Saturday. I just hope we don't have too many players out whereby winning this week would be a bridge too far. Would hate to waste a loss on an average side such as Hawthorn considering our tough second half fixture.
