  1. This defensive zone stuff is terrible.
  2. Not sure if it's the pie I had for lunch, but I've got a bad feeling in my stomach. Hopefully it's the pie.
  3. Fair enough Nasher. It's just the blind acceptance of anything negative about the club without waiting for verification. That being said, I'm no apologist for people employed by or involved with the club, and do think significant changes need to be made, starting at board level. Hopefully Peter Jackson can make them happen.
  4. Emma Quayle (who was on the tour) tweeted she can't see how there is anything Jason Taylor has to worry about. Honestly, [censored] most of the media. They are flogs who have nothing better to do than pot the club for even the most minuscule things as it suits their agenda of wanting blood. Worse still is most of the flogs on here take it as gospel as in many cases it suits their agenda of getting rid of everyone they don't like at the club.
  5. Problem is, preception is reality. To put it another way, if you were undergoing performance counselling at work, would you be spending your time at work talking to your mates, cracking jokes and taking long lunches? No way, you would be putting your head down to get back up to scratch and out of the crosshairs. When you are 0-3 and losing by average of 100+ points, anything other than total dedication to make things right is perceived to be tomfoolery and not giving a [censored]. It might not be the case but I'm not sure our players are in a position to argue the case.
  6. The umpires can get [censored]. What do we have to do to get paid a free?
  7. I've just about broken the remote. This game was there to be won FFS.
  8. We would all have a great time though. I'd want everyone who has played for the club since 2007 there so I could really tee off.
  9. As long as no one gets hurt and we don't get smashed I'll be fairly happy.
  10. Getting ugly now. Geez I hate North. They look good with the ball but play an ugly tagging style when they don't have it.
  11. How the f does being tackled without it equal holding the ball? Just another week of Norf getting help from the umps.
  12. Serves the Verucas right. Couldn't handle a year or two of no finals.
  13. Yeah I'll give it a go. When's the draft?
  14. I'm guessing Jon Pierik has been reading BigFooty as there is several flogs on there saying that Jim was orchestrating the whole thing. It's funny also that the main attack dogs are from Richmond and West Coast who should also be in the crosshairs of AFL HQ. On the rotations thing - if I was the coach of a team at the bottom of the ladder with more than a few players out of contract and not certain of a new one, I would give them every chance to prove themselves. If this means having less rotations to provide this opportunity, I would do it every time and would be more than upset if I was accused of 'tanking' by doing it.
  15. The major problem I have with the investigation/inquisition/kangaroo court is that 2012 rules are being applied to 2009 happenings. In 2009 all of this was considered OK and within the rules that applied at the time and still do outside of Caro and these so-called integrity officers. Even worse is that the weakest animal in the herd has been singled out for this retrospective application. Total [censored]. If Vlad and his cronies (Fitzpatrick et al) were fair dinkum an amnesty as suggested by Mark Fine would take place so all clubs perceived of 'tanking' could be looked at and a clear set of rules on what is and what is not tanking can be devised, plus the introduction of a lottery for the first 10 draft picks (all teams that missed the finals). The lottery might happen but I have no faith that any of the rest will. I also want to know who has sold out the club during the 'investigation'.
  16. Didn't he also smash Rhyce Shaw with a rather solid bump? If he could end up like Chappy I would be more than pleased.
  17. I'm not sure if it was suspended, and a quick google search found nothing. I do recall us being around $1.20 for this game and commenting to a mate that it was the surest money in the world. In the leadup to the game Koutoufides was quoted as saying there was no way Carlton would win and it was not in their interests to do so.
  18. If it is an issue in relation to betting on these games, all the sports betting agencies need to do is examine the betting sheets to see who had money on these games. If no-one connected with MFC wagered on the game then as far as I am concerned that is the end of betting being an issue in this investigation. If the agencies suspect something is up before the game has been played they can always suspend betting as often happens when star players etc are under an injury cloud.
  19. Fair enough. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and to feel differently about things. I really don't think we can possibly be hung out to dry without at least 4 other clubs getting the same, and I'm not sure AFL HQ will wanting to sanction a third of the clubs in the league as it is guaranteed to end up in a massive shitfight that no-one needs, especially when there is currently no clear definition of what constitutes tanking. If the worst comes to occur, the punishment should be no more than what we gained through 'tanking' if that is what it is, and that is having our 2013 first round pick taken from us. No more than that, and I even think that is too much given the whole thing is subjective and open to conjecture.
  20. Me either. It seems to be the MFCSS people (expecting the worst) plus the anti-Schwab/Connolly brigade (wanting the worst). As supporters all we can really do is let it take its course then react if anything happens.
  21. Well said by Don. If Schwabby gets the arse as a result of this, Brian Cook would be very nice thanks.
