Worst umpiring performance of the year
Clintosaurus replied to Return to Glory's topic in Melbourne Demons
North get a good run every week so maybe they should suck this one up and get on with it. -
Half Time address from Peter Jackson Yesterday
Clintosaurus replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder if this might get the AFL (maybe in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Company Directors) to do some kind of course for prospective Board members, if there isn't already one. Even better would be that to be on a club Board one needs to be a member of the AICD. At least then members could have confidence that anyone seeking their vote has the governance aspects etc covered. -
How did Cameron Schwab fill in his days at the MFC?
Clintosaurus replied to angrydee's topic in Melbourne Demons
He probably had a wall of TV screens in his office and secret cameras all over the Admin and FD offices so he could watch and listen to what everyone was doing. That would take time to keep full track of. -
Do you THINK Neeld will get the axe this week?
Clintosaurus replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't think so. The next four weeks could be fairly instructive though, plus the outcome of Peter Jackson's examination of the club. -
Is 22,000 too optimistic? After all the great G Ablett Jnr is playing.

Who Do you want at MFC..& Why
Clintosaurus replied to Red N Blue Society's topic in Melbourne Demons
A genuine A-Grade midfielder and a Heath Shaw type player would really help. Outside of that, a former gun mid to coach the current lot and a crumbing forward. -
Suggestions of moving the Dee's to Tasmania
Clintosaurus replied to alias275's topic in Melbourne Demons
There was a similar article by David Penberthy in the Murdoch rags 2 Saturdays back. Not sure who he is or who was behind the story but Tasmania cannot sustain a team in its own right. -
Essendon have had a crisis management expert working with them since February so to me it seems they have been going through the crisis management playbook, and each time hoping the strategy would work. Looks like it isn't. Hird also has his own PR people to keep the saintly image intact. Good luck with that.

Looking at the stats, the most obvious one is centre clearances. Got smashed there 20-10. Lost the contested possessions 150-120. The one that bothers me most besides centre clearances in the Lions took 20 marks inside 50, and this seemed mainly due to the defensive zone. The overall possession count was a concern but the difference was 34 kicks and 82 handballs. We just don't run and carry like most other teams.

Does anyone know what the players do at half time? Whatever it is it certainly does not work as it takes 15 minutes for them to start functioning again.

I suppose it's what 6 years (possibly 7) being at or near the bottom of the ladder does. My only complaints are the defennsive zone doesn't work well and the what appears to be half-hearted chasing. Maybe our blokes are just slow.

This defensive zone stuff is terrible.

Not sure if it's the pie I had for lunch, but I've got a bad feeling in my stomach. Hopefully it's the pie.

Jason Taylor in a fight on AIS Europe tour?
Clintosaurus replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fair enough Nasher. It's just the blind acceptance of anything negative about the club without waiting for verification. That being said, I'm no apologist for people employed by or involved with the club, and do think significant changes need to be made, starting at board level. Hopefully Peter Jackson can make them happen. -
Jason Taylor in a fight on AIS Europe tour?
Clintosaurus replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Emma Quayle (who was on the tour) tweeted she can't see how there is anything Jason Taylor has to worry about. Honestly, [censored] most of the media. They are flogs who have nothing better to do than pot the club for even the most minuscule things as it suits their agenda of wanting blood. Worse still is most of the flogs on here take it as gospel as in many cases it suits their agenda of getting rid of everyone they don't like at the club. -
Problem is, preception is reality. To put it another way, if you were undergoing performance counselling at work, would you be spending your time at work talking to your mates, cracking jokes and taking long lunches? No way, you would be putting your head down to get back up to scratch and out of the crosshairs. When you are 0-3 and losing by average of 100+ points, anything other than total dedication to make things right is perceived to be tomfoolery and not giving a [censored]. It might not be the case but I'm not sure our players are in a position to argue the case.

The umpires can get [censored]. What do we have to do to get paid a free?
-
I've just about broken the remote. This game was there to be won FFS.
-
We would all have a great time though. I'd want everyone who has played for the club since 2007 there so I could really tee off.
-
As long as no one gets hurt and we don't get smashed I'll be fairly happy.
-
Getting ugly now. Geez I hate North. They look good with the ball but play an ugly tagging style when they don't have it.
-
How the f does being tackled without it equal holding the ball? Just another week of Norf getting help from the umps.

Shocking umpiring so far. Jesse!!!!!!
