  1. If I was ST.Kilda I would do what they used to do at Moorabbin and leave the sprinklers on
  2. Whether BBB is fully fit or not our method of ball movement into our forward line does not suit him at all. Our ball movement is too slow, he needs it in quick to advantage side to take the mark or draw a free kick for chopping arms etc. Dump Kicks to a pocket don’t suit him as he is not strong enough to win one on one’s. He could in this scenario be used to bring ball to ground but our smalls are rarely front and square. Yesterday’s conditions were much better suited to JVR who is good at crashing packs and second efforts at ground ball. BBB is not the problem, method and selection is. We are not optimising the talents and skill sets of those in our forward line with the way we play and that is on coaches and selection committee. To be honest we are not even optimising the talents of our line coaches, surely it makes sense that a man that primarily plied his trade as a forward in Adem Yze would not be better suited as a forward coach than Greg Stafford. Stafford who plied his trade as a ruck should be in charge of the midfield group. For most of my Melbourne supporting life we have been ****house. Don’t get me wrong I am happy that we won a premiership in 2021 and playing finals but we should be better than we are, and it pisses me off that we aren’t. Does that make me a bad supporter (member). I am not of the mould that near enough is good enough, a club that was happy that Chris Judd talked to us on his return to play in Victoria and that was a win. We have 2 all Australian rucks, an élite midfield and a great backline. But the same issue of forward line connection and inefficiency and we still don’t know what our best forward line looks like. Sort it out Melbourne for [censored] sake, you’ve had long enough.
  3. Would have said to her “the only reason you’re here is because Centrelink is closed on a public holiday”
  4. Has some Nic Natanui vibes about it. Eat a bag West Coast.
  5. Disagree that Watson is a messy user of the ball. Then only issue with him that may see him slide down the draft order is his height. Would have him in a heartbeat. A star for Caulfield Grammar and doing it on the big stage for VIC Metro. He would put some serious pressure on Kossie.
  6. James Jordon must be sitting on the bench just shaking his head.
  7. Watson 4 goals one behind. Just draft him and give the “Wizard” jumper #33. You know it makes sense. I’m sure Turner will be fine with it:
  8. If DeGoey is free to play on the Kings Birthday after that bump then that will just about do me
  9. Now matter how many games they get on Friday night or marquee games they play in Carlton have absolutely no right to as they have been ****house for years. The only explanation for this is the club lawyer who clearly is a genius
  10. Defensively as a squad fantastic last night. Great forward half pressure and the May / Lever combo back to its best. Great to win the contested ball numbers as well. However, I genuinely do not know how we are the highest scoring team in the league. Our ball movement, overuse of handball and at times inexplicable width that we play with especially with deep entries forward. We have some serious talent in that forward line but I struggle to see how we are playing to the strengths of that talent. The leading patterns are terrible and again Bailey leading to the wrong side of the ground for a left footer. Stafford or someone at the club needs to sort it out because this narrative of we don’t know what our best forward line looks like and it is still a work in progress whilst trotting out the highest scoring team in the league stat is not good enough. There has been ample time to sort it out, it should be better because there are no apparent roles down there ( Kossi still trying to take mark of the year) and our leading patterns are poor with no work for each other. This forward line should be better functioning than it is and it is not.
  11. Collingwoods speed of ball movement is a massive concern and they are great by foot and hand. Hope our defensive mechanisms hold up. Must win contested footy
  12. With all the negative publicity around Carlton this week Friday night has banana skin written all over it
  13. APS football is a pretty high standard stacked with kids that are TAC Cup or Coates League Players that play for their school first. A high number of high draft picks also have come through APS football. You should go watch a game. FWIW Watson played mid / forward.
  14. Another 6 goals on the weekend for Nick Watson at Caulfield Grammar away against Xavier. No Noah Yze.
  15. Maybe Staffy could do a drill with the forwards where he throws a sausage to the left, one up the middle and one to the right to get our forwards to seperate. Then another drill where he throws a sausage up in the air to a tall and one at the talls feet for a small to be there.
  16. Gee the sponsors on Stewart Dews polo are getting some bang for their buck.
  17. It’s an interesting discussion. I have been thinking for a while that we allow way too much uncontested possession with the zone we play. I would love us to dial up bit more heat at the source. The ball comes out of our forward line far too easily. Our game used to be based on contest and defence currently we are poor at both.
  18. Understand he was a NGA product. Not so sure about the clearly told that he would get more game time though. If so as a Victorian boy would you rather play on the MCG every 2nd week or in front of 5000 people at Blacktown. I am disappointed he left as I am sure the club is…. Still can’t blame him for wanting more game time.
  19. Bit harsh on Bedford, how many times was he the sub player. Left for game time and I can’t blame him.Would love to have him on the list still, a bloke with genuine leg speed as opposed to the one paced players we are stacked with
