The Girls are Having a Good Time
The Mens comp has a fair head start on the womens comp and to say that the AFLW is a token competition is complete ignorance. I love my football, I coach my daughters team and have done so for the last 5 years and each year the standard gets better. In fact I also started yesterday with a rival AFL clubs Next Generation program yesterday as 7 of my girls are in their squad. The young girls coming thru are incredibly passionate about the game and the skills and their footy IQ is strong. The game is in great shape. I said it in an earlier post in my opinion our AFLW team play a much watchable brand of football than our male team. PM me if you want details of the Chelsea Girls next training session, you can come down and hold the tackle bag if you like.

The Girls are Having a Good Time
Great post!!!! While I think the bond between players and coaches in the mens team is good the brand that our women play is a hell of a lot more watchable than that of our men. I do understand with 2 less players on the field does leave more space but it is our intent to attack that I love. Our Mens team is far too conservative in many regards. And yes I am aware that our men won a premiership in 2021 but I strongly believe that our women will in 2022.

Training Ground?
I agree. If not then we absolutely have to explore other options away from the MCG precinct. Commonwealth games are regional so no help there. Other than that the only things being built in Victoria is hospitals and railway infrastructure. We need to think outside the square and partner up with another party whether it be the Melbourne Racing Club at Caulfield Racecourse a private school, share an elite purpose built facility with the Australian Netball Team or anything but this fixation being at the MCG is holding us back. It really is time that the board gives members a real update of where things are at.

Dynamic Ruck Duo Max & Brodie
Hopefully our Beyoncé game plan of “to the left to the left” is a thing of the past now.

Which Demon is the most likely to have a breakout year in 2023?
If he can get his body right then for me Christian Salem.

Trade and Free Agency rumours
Nobody will question it though, with the guy running the show down there being the ex AFL Operations Manager. They are kissed on the pecker down there and it [censored] me to tears. Great facilities all paid for externally, the Geelong Falcons as a quasi feeder team for ex players. The only Victorian club with a true home ground advantage. Even the [censored] Spirit of Tasmania leaves from there now.

Josh Bruce
With the hair, [censored] Mo and Tatts he looks like he should be a pool cleaner in adult movies. So I’m told. Seriously underwhelming choice.

Bang on. Herein lies the problem. Either you get personnel to suit your game style or you change the game style to suit your personnel. It’s not BBB’s fault we recruited him, although he could do with a big fat porterhouse.- Farewell Luke Jackson

If we gave up a top 10 pick up for Grundy I would take a Big Ben Brown style run up and kick Tim Lamb in the bollocks……….really, really hard.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
FWIW I wouldn’t mind seeing us win a premiership live too. I also agree with you that our window is still open. I also agree with you that Grundy WAS a superstar, 2nd best ruck in the game behind Gawn but I also think he has been underwhelming since signing his mega contract. I also don’t think our rucks were our weakness this year. Would rather invest salary cap and draft capital in areas that we need to strengthen and get a young ( not draftee ) ruck to give Gawn a chop out when needed. Each to their own though.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
This!!!!!!!! Plus despite Collingwood paying some of his salary it will still be significant money that we should be investing elsewhere. We are also doing a rival in Collingwood that has gone past us this year a favour by assisting them in getting rid of a player that is not required and is a massive salary dump to help them keep De Goey and bring in others to make them better. No thanks. Our ruck stocks are obviously now thin but I would much rather a cheaper, younger ruck, without the injury issues that can play a role.- Trade and Free Agency rumours

With all due respect I would hardly say Dunstan or Chandler got a go. Chandler was consistently only named as a sub and on the rare time that we actually used our sub in 2022 he was unfortunately suspended for a run down tackle and never got another look in despite strong performances at Casey. Heaven forbid we pick a small forward that is prepared to chase and tackle, when your team is 17th in the competition for pressure acts.- CASEY: PF vs Brisbane
