  1. Watch the game again and count how many long kicks down the line or into F50 whilst burning shorter and better options we make. Players taking shots at goal from ground level, when a better option is available by foot or hand. I don’t care if we lose whilst trying to make a better string of connections. It’s the way forward, so as long as we DO try/take those options, lower the eyes, look wide, kick at angles, play less selfishly and more team orientated, string marks together to free players, that’s all I want to see. Our ball use has been awful but the other side of that coin is decision making. The only way is through and there will be losses along the way which I can accept… if we are on a trajectory of improvement. I do care if we lose because Essendon set up down the line and just continually intercept our long kicks, kick to oppo outnumbers or to nobody and dump kicks out of the middle. We’re 18th in 2025 for goal assists too (5 per game) which is quite a margin below the next worst team in Carlton at 6.3. AFL average is 9.6. Our accuracy is also 18th so I get that these two will feed into each other, but bloody hell, we have 20% less goal assists than the second worst team right now. Lots of work to be done but hopefully we see some improvement!
  2. Petty is the only Melbourne player this year, that’s in the top 100 AFL players for kicking efficiency. At #96 I believe? So incredibly, if we dropped him, we would be dropping our most efficient user by foot, haha… huh… * sobs uncontrollably *
  3. It’s gonna be a long season.
  4. That is a horrible mistake
  5. I think this is the case. They were told to review any scoring situations that may looked close… after Adelaide missed out on finals in edition 55 of the crows were robbed right in front of me, haha
  6. So a dangerous tackle is when you hold a players arm, you drag them down and they hit their head on the ground? Is that a technically correct decision?
  7. Would it be any different if we had Caulfield? If a player is 50/50 on us and another Melbourne club, does Casey Fields turn some players off a bit? I don’t know if it does or not, just curious.
  8. Huh! I thought the same
  9. Crows are awesome to watch. Fast, hard, 3 big forwards kicking goals, good skills.
  10. That is just a crazy decision
  11. Fogarty has the best kicking action
  12. Yep. Reminds me of Nathan Buckley toward the latter years. I actually loved watching him played forward. So natural
  13. I’ve always thought Ben Keays is like a bizzaro world Fritta.
  14. It just feels so stale to me. If the changes would make marginal difference, then by that logic, there’s no harm in picking one/two of them? And it isn’t just about this game, if we have zero players in our VFL side that Goody deems worthy to reward form and develop at AFL level, even after 0-4 with seemingly zero chance of contending this year, then we are well and truly cooked.
  15. We ranked 14th for goals per inside 50 and 12th for marks per inside 50 in 2022. Our entries were not good. Our defence was ranked #1 and it papered over the cracks we are now seeing. Even whilst we were winning 5-6-7-8 games straight, the one knock against us that footy analysts in the media pointed out, was our lack of efficiency going forward. I remember it clearly as I was waiting for us to click and it didn’t happen. It’s been a problem for years.
  16. I’m talking super Roccas. Roccas times 10. (I’m actually just talking garbage as Demonland is very heavy at the moment, to which I’m contributing too I’m other threads truth be told, haha)
  17. Couldn’t handle Tracc. Couldn’t handle Oliver. Couldn’t handle a player I can’t mention. Let alone ALL the other issues this club has had for years. But we can definitely handle JUH. Just mind numbingly dumb.
  18. The next evolution of AFL will be specialised ultra long kickers. Steph Curries, but for AFL. Players that nail goals consistently from 60 meters.
  19. Mate we’ll romp it home. Double our scoring and tackle stats from the Geelong game. 6 behinds, 4 tackles. Let’s go.
  20. It’s settled. All training from now is to be done with one of the following parameters: smaller/bigger thinner/thicker lighter/heavier longer/shorter courser/smoother louder/quieter wetter/drier more physics/less physics hyper realistic/abstract hyper gravity/microgravity Getting good at one game means playing the same game, but different.
  21. Used to practice on king sized snooker tables so pub pool felt like a kids game. Smashed everyone. Goal kicking practice should be done with posts half distance apart. WE’LL NEVER LOSE AGAIN.
  22. We didn’t have to look for better options because Maxy was there so often to mark it, or we’d count on it being a ball up/throw in. Didn’t develop our decision making skills in our senior players as a result.
  23. Still moves pretty bloody well for an old big fella. Marks it right at the apex of his jump too!
  24. I fully agree with both halves of that glass. We’re obviously winning enough ball to get it inside 50, we just butcher it or continuously burn better options. Our forwards are also in terrible form obvs. So that doesn’t help. But we really don’t (and haven’t for years) maximise their chances of getting a clean grab either. And I ask this genuinely, does Goodwin look like he’s tried to address the F50 connection problems to you?
  25. Huh, maybe just a weird software glitch then with the stream output. If nobody else was hearing it, then the signals up until that point were all good. That’s weird.
