I watched the first quarter again and credit to Freo, they made the ground look tiny. Compared to the saints game where there looked to be paddocks of space. They shut us down well and we looked panicky.

We finished 14th, two years running, with Oliver, Tracc and May. Expecting us to jump 4 positions straight off the bat is unfair to King and the many young players we have. For what, 3-4 seasons? We drafted in nobody to replace the plethora of players that left or we let go. None of them worked off the top of my head post 21. Max is the only consistent A grader we have. Kozzie is amazing yes, but he also goes missing and sometimes doesn’t impact games at all. Let’s be honest.

We aren’t finishing top 4 this year, it’s gonna be fine.

If JVR can back up last week with 3 or more goals, we score more goals than behinds and take 15+ marks inside 50, I’ll be happy regardless of win/loss.

You can change as much as you want up the ground, but the long dump kick entries meant it was all for nothing. The problem I have understanding still stands: everyone and their dog new our forward line issues weren’t helped by rubbish entries. It was picked apart TO DEATH. Did Goodwin allow the usual culprits to continuously do it? He either was ok with it, or he wasn’t, but he allowed the same players to continually do it because he didn’t want to upset them? Changes were made but not the last piece of the puzzle.

I had it in my head that English was about 23 and that’s solely because whenever he’s been mentioned (for evidently about 8-9 years now), they talk about what he is potentially capable of doing. Almost fell off my chair when I read he’s 28 my gawd

If it's a choice between less free kicks (consistently officiated within a game) VS over officiating and enforcing all of the rules to the letter of the law, I'll take the former. There's players that basically dive every game, players push each other 80 meters off the ball with no effect on the game and frees are paid, center bounce like i mentioned, 50 meters every game for players running over the mark by a foot/stand rule etc. etc. The game isn't better by having more 'you slightly went over a line and it's a free' rules. Some games feel too sterile to enjoy IMO.i

2 free kicks for stepping over the centre line at centre ball ups is really annoying. Technical free kicks make AFL less watchable.

Hawks are $1.32 and Sydney $3.30. Those odds seem a bit out of whack or is Sydney very unlikely to win?

If May was playing for Collingwood, they would have burned down AFL HQ. I have zero doubt about it.

He should have been removed after the May decision last year. That was an absolute farce and like I probably obnoxiously went on and on about at the time, setting up metrics of what a ‘’’‘reasonable’’’’ player ‘should’ and ‘could’ do to determine guilt based on literally, which way a ball would bounce, resulting in a 3 match ban, means you could justify or disqualify anything.

I guess Pendles didn’t have to anticipate that contact could be possible and he should have acted differently unlike May last year. Odd.
