  1. Right ok. Bizarre decision making.
  2. Has anyone in the media talked about this? What possible reason would the AFL have to schedule this?
  3. If May was playing for Collingwood, they would have burned down AFL HQ. I have zero doubt about it.
  4. He should have been removed after the May decision last year. That was an absolute farce and like I probably obnoxiously went on and on about at the time, setting up metrics of what a ‘’’‘reasonable’’’’ player ‘should’ and ‘could’ do to determine guilt based on literally, which way a ball would bounce, resulting in a 3 match ban, means you could justify or disqualify anything.
  5. Username brownie making a literal black and white joke is very pleasing to me.
  6. I guess Pendles didn’t have to anticipate that contact could be possible and he should have acted differently unlike May last year. Odd.
  7. Lauchie Neale 2024.
  8. He was also just bracing his arm when he palm struck Neale directly in the abdomen. Good bloke though and totallllllyyyy different from a close fisted strike.
  9. We have to sort this out now otherwise Kingy and crew won’t know what to do.
  10. Mmmm. Yes. True. The pro-slagging position. Touché.
  11. Why copy my comment and post it before I did?
  12. I’m not baselessly slagging off Sparrow here, but Viney would do a better job than Sparrow in his role.
  13. Good shout. We’re 1 pre-season and 1 game into a pretty drastically new game plan amongst a landscape of faster/more attacking footy (which we are late to the party). Lever was an intercept marking defender at the crows, he was an intercept marker with us and on top of that, he played beside probably the most dominant full back for many many years which allowed him to run off and do as he pleased with confidence. He developed and played the vast majority of his career in a slower/contested style in which there was more time to set up in defence. If he was immediately able to turn into a player that he has never been (really strong 1V1 defender), then he and King are both geniuses. We’ve had a great win first up amidst a lot of changes. That doesn’t mean we’re going to finish top 10 nor does it mean that this year is a disaster if we finish 14th again. The only way to learn is to fail, so I’m more than happy to give us time to fail in aid of getting better.
  14. Yeah that’s true. Not as if they’ve been belted in their first two games.
  15. I do agree with this sentiment in part. For a club that doesn’t have a heap to celebrate historically, they do have to make hay whilst the sun shines etc. and I don’t mind that they’re selling T-shirts/celebrating. Smaller clubs have to bring in the revenue and that’s just a reality. But I think if you’re going to sell T-shirts about a non-finals game, beating a not very good team, from the prior season, you have to make sure you win this seasons game against said opponent, otherwise it makes your club look a bit silly?
  16. Just had a peek at the Saints next 4 games: Giants away Lions at Marvel Port away Adelaide away They could very well be 1-5 or even 0-6 if they don’t get the job done against Port. I’m already seeing quite a lot saints social media comments unhappy with Ross Lyon.
  17. Haven’t seen him in enough positions to say with 100% confidence but his physical attributes tell me he could be a Blicsavs type utility. I reckon wherever you put him, he’ll do a job for you. He looks smaller than he is because he moves so well.
  18. I loved the line about ‘the players are the professionals’ in regards to letting players play to their strengths. He’s a good communicator and sounds like he’s able to simplify the game to the players.
  19. If he stays at west coast, he probably won’t, because he’ll be at west coast. I don’t see how’s he’s going to fulfil his potential when he has nobody around him. Yeo hardly plays and Reid was effectively their best player from game 1. If he’s able to fully become the player he could be in the environment he’s in, then that’s remarkable to me.
  20. I think it’s great also that we got the win against a presumed mid-tier team when so many players didn’t have their best games IMO. I mean that in a positive way too, round 1 so we’re rusty but we got a good win and didn’t wilt in the last. Saints missed a lot of gettable goals but so did we. I think early in the last we missed 3 easy goals and marks to which in previous years we would drop our heads and start panicking. But we didn’t this time! The end of the game was perfection. Less than 3 minutes left to start killing the clock. They’ve obviously worked a lot on that over the summer as there was a clear plan and everyone kept their composure. This is one of those ‘how many close games do we lose’ games. But we got it done this team. There’s a lot of work to do but there’s also a lot of ceiling left to get better. It’s very exciting and so much to be positive about our direction. Gonna be an interesting year to say the least.
  21. I think that’s being positive.
  22. Also, any goals scored by Saints in the last minute of a quarter??
  23. Huge difference. Iced out a game, 18.12 on the scoreboard, 20 marks inside 50. Culley and Sharp stood up, Max had 4 minutes rest the entire game which Is unbelievable. 6 for Roo. The team looked happy!!!!!
  24. GAME OVER!!!!!! Celebrate hard Dees fans
  25. COME ON DEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!
