Unfortunately that comes back to Goodwin’s inability to just be himself and speak logically to the media. “Yeah, he’ll be fully fit, he’ll be ready to go...” being his initial (rubbish) response, followed by the half decent response to the question. All he had to say was that he could play this weekend, but the club are managing his return, despite his eagerness, to ensure his longevity in the game. 5 second simple response. Unfortunately Simon isn’t capable of speaking like an average person in front of the media.

All I can think about is Balls “omitting” Terry in Round 2 of 1988. The fact Rodney couldn’t play the following week still makes no sense to me either..

All we can hope for from here is that everyone is safe and Essendon are removed from the league.

Do you honestly believe Goodwin (or any other AFL coach) would do anything but praise a player in their first game, regardless of performance? ”Nah Lukey was disappointing to be honest, we’ll be breaking down his game and pointing out all his mistakes to him on Monday using the video footage..” C’mon...he was okay. Nothing more. I hold high hopes for him, but he’s not what we need up forward right now.

I had a few too many Saturday night and regret everything that happened after the 5 minute mark of the second quarter. I apologise to everyone, even though I didn’t post.

I would drop Smith and Jackson. Move TMac down back and bring in Weid and Kozzy to play forward. Frees up Lever and allows him to play his role as an intercept back man.

Sorry DL, I’m not understanding? We don’t get North’s first round pick next year, they only get ours... so as it stands they have both picks 6 and 17.
