A point on branding. it's not 1965. We know exactly how this works. This circus is generating clicks, views, conversations. If you don't think your phone is listening to your conversations and then filtering your social media feeds and ads you're living in 2004 (beyond clicks and views). He hasn't been charged with a crime, he will not be cancelled, this is generating more noise and expanding the footprint if anything. I'd imagine there's an idea to take things globally, if he's a national trending topic it sets off 'alarms' from a whole new base. I daresay this site probably had a record day and the ad sponsors would be pleased.

If he does play in opposition colours in 25, it will have a level of animosity between the players and particularly the fans not seen since Carey. At least it will be a big crowd for him

Yea starting him at Casey is a bit tongue in cheek but the bigger point is if Trac is unhappy about standards and player responsibility, he maybe can get a taste of his own preferred medicine. We have to be firm here. Buckley is spot on

You don't give a petulant child what they want. I hope he stays and I hope he starts Casey next year for a week. Plenty of players have been dropped for far less showing a lack of respect for their teammates and the club.

Any trade with the Pies obviously has to involve Beau McCreery

Which A grader is going to be asked to or happy to leave their big Victorian club to play for MFC. Would rip the fabric of the other club. Nope, this dog don't hunt. Not this year at least.

I'd love to see him in the Red and the Blue round one next year. at Casey. There's your crowd mate, your move. Trading him for unders would be a massive mistake....... And I can't see how we get value given its not a certain he even gets through a pre season.

Your Preferred Premier 2024
Gws for Hogan Port for Hinkley. Dude cops more shizen from his fam base than any other coach. They'll give him both barrels again otherwise.

If only Luke Jackson hadn’t left…
So basically, his average output over the last four years. Cameo player every day of the week.

How many years until our next premiership?
It's a fair question but imo we are miles off now unless midfield gets back fully fit. Which is a big if unfortunately. Even then, we have to play defence and contest football. It's pretty obvious we don't have the list to play fast quick ball movement over 24 rounds. We will get killed on turnover every second week which is exactly what's happened all year.. Our youngsters are ok but realistically half a dozen other teams have much better. Geelong and Sydney contend every year cause they have the two best coaches, recruit well, have 'advantages' and adaptable lists that tweak playing method game to game and year to year. We either go all in on contest and defense again or we complete rebuild before they gift Tasmania wins. The AFL is a bit of a joke for a sporting code really. 2 cents and a bit glass half empty I know :(

Goodwin Gifts Daicos Brownlow
I've been calling for him in the midfield for eons, but we've had a look and he's not fit enough right now and he def gets a bit lost with the handover stuff. I'm coming around to the idea he should be more a wanganeen milera role off high half back. Either way, its ok we got to see it in an essentially dead rubber. 'learnings'

Garry Lyon brilliant!
Slight aside but the most exciting comment from last nights show was the tid bit that Oliver may be going overseas for a high performance training camp this off season. Clearly determined to get back to his best.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
Our lowest clanger count for the season (43). In fact our lowest in over two years. Will reserve judgement as the GC were totally cooked in that last quarter, but if we see that sort of efficiency and ball movement next week (and that's the way we want to play) there's going to be a bit of head scratching over the summer as to personnel.

This thread has jumped the shark. It's epic! Admittedly, I, like nearly everyone on this forum, have absolutely no actual idea what Trac's gripe is but reading the tea leaves I assume it's 'standards' not crowd numbers. He wants to win premierships. In his career, he has always come across as a total professional willing to put the team in front of the individual, which frankly some of his senior teammates don't. But let's pile on him! Obviously it should have stayed behind closed doors, but if he goes because the club and it's supporters didn't like it's dirty laundry aired out, sorry but you can't handle the truth.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
MFC: Can we have pick 26 please AFC: no sorry. 42? MFC: (checks phone. No messages from PAFC). Um yea, guess so. Would give us 38 42 43 and 50. Could package those up to move higher. Gold coast have 5 picks in the top 34. Freo have 4 picks in the top 25.

Trade Targets
There's dozens of players in the AFL that fit that description. They still get a game now and then. If he'd be stinking up lower levels then fine, but he's dominating the WAFL. No player is perfect and he clearly knows how to find the ball. The knock on disposal is noted, if you applied that criteria to our side 15 guys wouldn't get a game.
-
Trade Targets
Will Brodie is a no brainer. 25 yr old who racked up 640 touches 2 years back and 11 Brownlow votes in a team that went 16-7. Crazy he hasn't even got a single game this year. Reeks of politics.

Trade Targets
I love Milkshake. He's given me so much joy and I'm in awe he came back from an ACL but he's Obi Wan Kenobi here Strike him down and he'll be more powerful than you can possibly imagine as a forward coach. Tmac gets another year. He is in the top half of defenders in the AFL. Not the bottom. We need to turn over a lot of our list, so splitting the pick makes a bit of sense. Bit grumpy we've lost our second and third for zero return. I hope port win the flag this year, maybe they'll be a bit more receptive to trading Houston for a late first round pick but I'm not sure it works like that :)

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide
I think he definitely can. 2018 we were ripping but we had Milkshake kicking inside 50 5 times a game. Attacking gus and Jordan Lewis through the midfield. Tmac and Hogan genuine forwards who could take more than 4 marks a game. The game plan should reflect and adapt to the players strengths. Not the other way around. That's why I think we're in a huge pickle. It took half a decade to cultivate this list. It's going to take a lot more than one or two draft picks or trading season to change the DNA of the way we play. I hope the FD now realise. I think I prefer to see us double down on defence and contest otherwise we will be mid table for a number of years.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide
Ha. So true. Objectively, we are in a world of hurt. We either have to revert to the old scrap, kick down the line, set up behind the ball and hope we can squeeze another finals look. We 'look' our best playing this way. Or we need a major recycle of the list. There is very little chance we can play fast attacking football over an entire season with this list. There's not enough footy iq and kicking skills across the 22, unless we clone you know who 4 times. Pick a lane.

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide
It's really disappointing that we spent a second and a third rounder to bring in experienced players and they've played 3 games between them. It's a bad misstep of due diligence. I appreciate what Goodwin is trying to do in terms of continuity but he's putting a lot of faith in the concept of cohesion over the concept of aptitude. That's not to say Fullarton or McAdam are knocking down the door to be picked, but we are jumping up and down on the same spot right now. Be surprised if we win this week, but it's that sort of season. Why not.
