  1. Because we’ll only have a few more years of him and during that time we won’t be close to finals, if finishing 14th this year tells us anything. Time to cash out.
  2. 0 votes to a midfielder taking up a crazy amount of our salary cap. Of course he has upside, as many on here argue, largely because there isn’t possibly any more downside.
  3. For all those saying ‘just hang onto him unless the deal is great’, I’m sure that will be the negotiating position but all signs are pointing towards both parties want to move on from each other. Not entirely clear why Christian wants out (again) but I sense he is more isolated within the club than he once was. Fairly open secret too that his wife hasn’t gotten along well with many of the wags (my last intel on this was 1 year ago so not sure if that has changed). As for the club? Sure he is still a very good player (2nd b&f) but he is 30, has inconsistent disposal (that is being generous), butchers the ball in front of goal, the game has moved away from what his strengths as a footballer are, one of highest paid on the list and maybe they think he is part of the cultural problems the club needs to re-set from. Sounds like reasonable grounds to move him on and try and get something from it.
  4. Yes please. But sadly I think Demonland is the only group that thinks this is a possibility.
  5. He had a 5 goal BOG game up forward last year. Also, a bit of recency effect with Danger, he wasn’t particularly impactful up forward 5 years ago.
  6. I’m hoping (fairly confident) Trac’s management don’t nominate a preferred trading partner until they understand if that partner can satisfy Melbourne. They don’t want this to play out like it did last year / they looked stupid trying to land him at Collingwood when they had absolutely nothing to give us
  7. I’m not sure that is how it works
  8. Daniher = free agent Allen = Free agent Hipwood = Lions academy. Logan Morris was find though, yes. They’re hardly a factory for young KPFs.
  9. Mihocek for May. No salaries being subsidised either way. Get it done.
  10. D’land would just argue about whether they are the right pills
  11. Do we then end up with a world where you can’t talk to/interview assistants until their season is over? I would hate if a dees assistant left in the middle of a finals campaign. Play on.
  12. A 33yo with foot problems… we should make a play for him.
  13. I think a new body is what he needs
  14. Clean and dry your backside like a toilet in Japan
  15. Also allows Petty to go back as May departs
  16. The AFL’s product is at stake here - and we’ve all seen a windy and cold Tassie makes their product look extraordinarily worse on national TV In fact, AFL games in Tassie have been some of the worst conditions we’ve seen our top-tier national game played in. The competition doesn’t need Tassie so if they want in, they need to chip in. If they’re not up for it, let’s carry on as we have for the last ~150,years.
  17. Cannot understand why Carlton would be speaking with him… he is the opposite of what they need.
  18. Silly money for a midfielder who can’t crack North Melbourne’s midfield
  19. I think he is on silly money
  20. Feeling better that he is ‘open’ to quite the range of teams. Wonder if this was the message from the FD to his mgmt: come back to us with a selection of clubs we could do a reasonable deal with this time around.
  21. Do they have enough points for their academy players at the pointy end? This might be the most reasonable deal I’ve seen.
  22. This story is now as cold as the snags Rhys Stanley cooked up on the bbq a club sponsor bought him.
