That isn’t the same as ‘we have no interest in quality draft picks’

Draft picks from the GC for Trac then it is! Go hard for 6+ 13 Dees, with late picks back to help them land their 2x top 10 academy boys.

Hang on, hang on. He had pasta and wine over dinner with the ‘aints and a mid-morning coffee with us! This doesn’t bode well. I hope they made it an Irish coffee at the very least 🇮🇪

Anytime.

Relax. Let it play out. The growing narrative around what we ‘need’ to get in this trade period is more about instant-gratification for nervous fans than it is strategic imperative for our future over the next 10 years. We’ll be ok.

do I actively troll the Crows simpletons on Twitter today or do I let them self-implode? 🍿

Surely only entree-sized tortellini given the state of their salary cap

Much better idea. But Mihocek in via FA pretty much erases Spargo compo… unless we trade for Brody that is

Next yr the last draft before Tassie come in and own the draft. The only way you’d do the above is if you thought Flanders and Humphrey were the missing premiership pieces (which they aren’t). We’ll need that first next year.

You’ll fit in well with the ‘kick the bloody thing’ crowd around these parts.

They’ll have plans b & c.

Cincotta worth a look in light of Judd leaving. Burton worth a look as well.

We’re making Clarry captain?

The news about Oliver this morning being told of ‘a new role he may not like’ must be linked to our pursuit of Flanders. Separate story emerging that ‘it is about the role, not the money for Ned’ too closely aligned to our ‘snap meeting’ with Clayton

We’ll be paying a fair whack of his cash that way. Will be anyway if he is going to GC, they’re going to need $$ for Ben King next yr

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
Relevant player managers would be let into the tent on progress, wouldn’t worry too much about an announcement in relation to impact on trade period.

This is what they were saying today on trade radio also. Backended.

As long as we don’t end up with a Dutch oven

Adelaide supporters on Twitter getting VERY worked up by a ‘vic-centric’ narrative on his value. I suppose the Crom don’t really know anymore what a premiership player looks like, let alone a norm smith medalist so I understand their inability to appropriately value Christian.

Isn’t the whole point that we need players outside that bracket for a more balanced list?

Discussion this morning on SEN made me realise we are somewhat fortunate Trac’s new manager doesn’t manage a stable of players, removes one potential element for the club getting screwed ie we have no need to keep Trac’s manager sweet

Trade Targets
I am a realist and there is no way the club accept 1st rounder + Pedlar, not even if they pay every cent of Trac’s contract (which they won’t).

The request from Adelaide was always ‘2 first rounders’ for a bloke in a position that was in vogue. In fact, their negotiations jumped around drafts, eventually landing on a first in one draft and then another first in a separate draft after they rejected a first and a second in the 2018 draft (which was considered one of the better drafts of the last couple of decades). Adelaide ended up trading us a few later upgrades just so they could secure their arbitrary ‘2 first rounders’.
