CASEY: Rd 18 vs Coburg
I think Tmac will be done at the end of this year. Tommo will leave i think, otherwise he will be 31 coming on 32 at the end of his contract. BBB if managed correctly could go another couple of years. which we will need someone like him to stick around and help develop the young Key fwds.

CASEY: Rd 18 vs Coburg
Few good signs in this game. Jefferson will be a good fwd, another couple of pre-seasons to get some bulk but more so i think he will become an elite running CHF, will team up well with JVR when it eventuates. Will take time though. AMW is only 19 and developing very well, if he can continue playing games like that he will be in the AFL side very quickly. Grundy had 4 shots on goal, thats a good return. and most importantly he structured them up well. Good start to his mini training block. Spargo played exactly how we have needed him in the seniors this season, few more weeks like that and he will get his spot back. Harmes/Dunstan just did what they do, great back ups if we need them. i would be surprised if either are at the club next year. but good depth atm. Same goes for Schacke, but he willl be at the club next yr. Zane Duursma showed enough without being outstanding, id be more than happy for us to use pick 4 on him if we keep it. Only his second game at the level, looks a good size and has good skills.

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Adelaide
He doesn't play those positions, he hasn't trained for it and doesn't know the system properly. Yes he is a brilliant by foot but thats no good if he isn't putting on pressure and in the right spots. Brayshaw is a midfielder and i think thats where he wil be even at full strength, its exactly what we did last year this time. Why would he be omitted? Rivers is playing more up the ground in the Wing rotation Brayshaw is in the middle.

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Adelaide
he has been training and playing as a def all year, it's not a smart move to put someone into a new system and expect them to learn it in 5 weeks. Very good way to confuse a player and stunt development too. Bowie is a great backman and should stay there. the players that would move for Hibbo would be Brayshaw and Rivers who have both had midfield roles this year so have been training in that area.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
He is a Defender. Played on Hipwood who had 9 Disposals, and 1 goal from 6 marks. Meaning he kept him out of dangerous areas. Not there for attacking drive, there for intercepts and to beat his man wich he had 5 intercept possies and went at 80% efficiency. So as I said, pretty good game!

PODCAST: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
Hi Gents What are your thoughts on our fwd line talls. Personally i think we need to play BBB and JVR, happy for JVR to get the couple of weeks rest he needs but i think he is our best fit for the end of the season. I also believe the 1 tall is contributing to our crumbing smalls struggles, very easy for the opposition to know where the ball is going to fall, and all our small and med size forwards head to that spot dragging their man to the area and creating congestion. A few other things we need to tidy up, hand balling is atrocious and all are guilty. And whilst Petracca was great up forward, we need him in the middle. God we miss Clarry for the team balance and his super high standards.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
No problem with them coming in, not sure Hows is up the the fitness level. Apparently cramped severely in the VFL this week. basically i think selection integrity is important not. If someone in the VFL that plays your position is in form and you are not then you lose your spot. I do also think our crumbing forwards have it tough with only 1 Key forward, easy to know where the ball is going to drop for the opposition.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs St Kilda
Good to tough out that win. But We have a lot to tidy up, our skills are very average, dropped marks, missed handballs and poor kicking. I don't rate St Kilda at all but they put the pressure on tonight. Brown has to stay in, he just opens up the forward line well, id like to see JVR in there with him. Kossie is an issue atm, and only the fact that Spargo and Chandler are also struggling is the reason he is still in the side. We are really missing Clarry, but Brayshaw back in the middle is his best position and hopefully we see similar to what he did in the back end of last yr. Looking forward to heading to the G on Fri, we will see where we are against a good team this week.

PREGAME: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
I Like most of the changes, but think JVR had to be in not Melksham. Hopefully this is because they are managing JVR's workload in the VFL and giving him a break whilst still getting footy into him. Now reward Chandler/Spargo if they have form in the VFL and if Kossie/ANB are not performing they get dropped.

Taj Woewodin Set to Debut
This is brilliant for a couple of reasons: 1 - his hard work has been rewarded. 2 - sends a strong message to the others that spots are up for grabs atm so you better perform. Only downfall is, JJ is way behind in the pecking order and I can't see him not seeking opportunities elsewhere, but that's footy. Please don't play Taj as Sub!!

PREGAME: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
Ins: JVR, Oliver Out: Fritsch, Smith I think Fritch out will show we need two talls up fwd, as well as the resting ruck. Not saying Fritsch isn't in the side, but think he has been asked to play a different role. Oliver into the midfield obviously, and Harmes gets another go as a half fwd/rotation and midfield depth. But needs to perform much better than the weekend.

TRAINING: Thursday 29th June 2023
Totally agree, think they have been managing him. He is most definitely in our best fwd line. And if you look back Grundy and Gawn had the most impact forward of the ball when Brown was playing. I think he unlocks a different dimension up there. All of a sudden teams have to defend BBB, JVR, Gawn/Grundy and Fritch on the lead and in the air.
