- PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Part of the trouble is the state of the VFL competition. The AFL really need to sort it. Get it back to the same 18 teams who play AFL and match the draw. I agree on Tholstrup though, I’m not seeing but he’s got time and his preseason lay off with injury didn’t help.- Time to go Goody?
Name one other club who’s won a Premiership and then changed its game plan? It’s a nonsense to suggest we should have changed our approach. We’d just won 3 finals by large amounts. The fact is our list, as with most teams, didn’t bat deep and when injuries came in 22 and 23 we dropped off marginally. Still finished top 4 with our terrible Premiership winning game plan but didn’t have the cattle to go all the way. Injuries aren’t an excuse they’re a reason.- NON-MFC: Round 10
The Suns first quarter was as good a football as I’ve seen this year- NON-MFC: Round 10
Is Mac Andrews He’s done absolutely nothing tonight except leak a few goals which exactly the same as when I last watched him- NON-MFC: Round 10
Is Mac Andrews really any good? I’ve watched 6 or so of his games and see nothing amazing.- NON-MFC: Round 10
How much would you like Humphrey in the red and blue!- We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
That’s a great argument you got there Champ.- We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
I haven’t said we don’t have faults but if you won’t recognise the impact of injuries to a team that never had great depth then it’s easy to blame everything else. The coach, the game plan, the boot studder. On KB in 23 we easily accounted for Collingwood as we were better than they were. We had them on toast in that final and you can’t tell me that if Gus, Petty and Melksham were playing we wouldn’t have more than likely beaten them and their wizz bang game plan. It ain’t rose coloured glasses it’s fact.- Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Whilst I certainly question selection and management over the journey Jefferson needs to show some toughness. We all know it, the club knows it, worst of all he knows it. It’s shows through so clearly- Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Quite possibly- We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
Lever, Viney, Petracca, maybe Oliver, Langdon all have 2-5 years left, Max 1-2 more plus we continue to add new recruits to go with Lindsay, Langford, Windsor, Bowey, Turner, JVR, Petty, Pickett, Kolt. We’re not far off- PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Life big fella, just sucking it in!- Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
He’s 3 years in the system. Time to put his big boy pants on- We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
This theory is hogwash. Injuries cruelled us in 22 and 23. Sheesh in 23 you put Petty, Melksham and Gus in that side and we’re every chance 2 flags in the bag. Yes 24 and 25 were and are disappointing but we’re midway through transforming our list and game style. We’re miles from a basket case and whilst I don’t disagree FD changes are needed we’re on the right path. Remember we’ve also dealt with Oliver going off the rails, Petracca missing half of last year and losing Gus 5 years early. No club recovers from that overnight. Imagine taking Daicos, Pendlebury and Sidebottom out of the Pies side in 23, do they win the Flag? Hell no, not even close.- We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
This week feels like the last chance saloon to me. So many tough games ahead.- PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
I’m fully pumped. We’ll roll Brisbane by 17 points. Kozz will star, Clarry will shut Neale down, Sparrow will do a job on Zorko and Petty’s tears will be that of joy.- Draft targets 2025
- Trade Targets
I think Petty, Turner and JVR are the beginnings going forward. All have shown significant promise at times. It’s not unusual for a tall’s development to be slower than a mids. I’d certainly keep looking to add further tall players but I’m taking mid/forwards as first up. If we add Jackson I fear we’ll need a Pickett replacement.- Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Your ruck is only overpaid if his only contribution is winning the tap. Jackson plays like a ruck rover, often featuring heavily in post clearance work. He’s also a decent tall forward. I’d suggest he’s also an above average mark. In short he’s a weapon. Again I don’t want to lose Kozz but if Jackson is the payment and hopefully some steak knives I’ll live with that.- Time to go Goody?
You’re clearly not reading your own posts! 😂- Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
- Reasons for our Inaccuracy?
Sorry but that’s ridiculous. You can improve your technique indoors at any hour of the day. With technique bedded down you practice in all conditions. Cloke used to have headphones with crowd noise when he practiced during a lean spell. Practicing in windy conditions should strengthen your technique and help learn about your kicking and your flaws. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. Our rating should have a solid time dedicated to goal kicking.- PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Or the other type which is arguably more fun than playing football- Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Those who think rucks don’t matter have you not been watching Max Gawn play for us? Seriously we’d be lucky to have won a game this year without him. As far as Luke Jackson goes he’s like Max, in that he’s more than a ruck. Max is a one man down the line marking machine. Jackson is a ruck rover. He actively helps the mids clear the ball, he can also play reasonably well as a tall forward. Whilst I’d hate to lose Koz it feels inevitable. To get Jackson would make it palatable to me. I think Jackson has a fair amount of upside and if you seriously think that as a ruckman he doesn’t make us better when Max retires, you don’t understand football. - PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
