  1. I am confident this is exactly what’s happened with Houston. Port said sure, go put the feelers out but we are setting a price. When we realised our first rounder was going to be higher than anticipated, we let it fizzle out. No one else wanted to pay the price either. @mo64, I agree that the draft is risky but keeping Trac on with his high maintenance behaviour is likely far riskier for Goodwin/Pert/Roffey
  2. I don’t mind the idea, more from a cultural perspective though. There’s some homesickness and unrest with Trac and Koz, they also happen to be our two most valuable assets. If we netted 3 picks under 20 and a decent best 22 player under 25, all of whom wanted to be here, change could come quickly and be sustainable whilst Gawn and May are still functioning. Theres a few guys in our current side who are just barely contributing and there seems to be a very even spread of draft kids out to pick 25-30
  3. Port Adelaide came out and said he doesn’t suit their list profile, they didn’t want him. The nominating of clubs is based on conversations already had, it’s not a random choice like many believe
  4. Second time you’ve said something similar, one family member is more than nothing but depending on her own life and commitments, it may amount to very little help/support
  5. A little birdy once told me that Josh had a lot of difficulty adhering to gameplans/instruction. He should have played from day dot but just wouldn’t listen. Not sure that it adds anything of value, other than it may suggest he could want to get out of Nick’s shadow

I quite liked Daniel as a player, however it’s a mighty fall from grace if we’ve gone from a two time AA (probably) to Caleb Daniel as our new HBF recruit.
  7. Pert/Roffey/Goody would all be sleeping with the lights on at the moment This is bonkers
  8. The ironic thing is Clarry was immature, did dumb things and let his off field spiral away from him, yet the club wanted to help him because he’s probably not a bad kid deep down. Trac gets hurt, the club does enough but ultimately, the world goes on and particularly in professional sport where there’s a game to worry about within a week. Trac doesn’t like it and starts acting immaturely and everyone is put off because he’s maybe not such a good guy deep down and people have had enough
  9. I almost want it to go this way to show Christian whose brand matters most, it would not be pretty for Brand Petracca if he went against the AFL
  10. I think the balance of the list is off and would expect a pretty steady decline from May/Gawn/Viney. Guess I am a pessimist
  11. Aside from TDK or Curnow, I don’t think Carlton have any players we would actually want. Their mids are very similar to ours
  12. I find it interesting that Trac would specifically want Roffey gone - according to the caller? How much interaction would he actually have with her? Totally get that supporters want a new president/ceo/board for a million different reasons, this just seems very pointed. Also, whoever is advising him thinking these tiny media snips will help are clearly not doing so in his best interests
  13. I must admit, I reckon the way Trac has hung Clarry out to dry, it might just be enough to light a fire under Clarry’s [censored]! Head to head in top form, it would be a ding dong battle.
  14. I’m interested in how this sits with Max, Jack Viney and possibly Steven May. The club itself might be resolute in the fact that there’s no trade but I doubt the players would want to go into battle with him now that he’s made all this so public.
  15. If Trac is truly the way it seems, I can’t imagine him wanting to play second fiddle to Cripps.
  16. The parallels with Ben Simmons cannot be avoided. This is a wild implosion.
  17. Could get used to an English soccer chant of this each week
  18. Remonstrated with every guy that touched him, not sold on that
  19. You meant half a bad season each year for 3 years, right?
  20. The tone in the media seems to be changing a little. Bit of a swing towards Petracca being the issue. My gut feel is he’s holding the club over a barrel, trade or year out of the game/retirement scenario
  21. If the entire footballing world can see that we are not just a HBF away from finals, I pray that our club can to. If we cough up pick 5 for Houston, one good thing is the club has no home base for the supporters to burn down. If we did this trade and flounder again next year, it would also guarantee the end for Goody/Pert/Richo etc
  22. I’m not a draft/CTL watcher, so who’s got those elite skills and agility that we need?
  23. It was reported that the Hawks offer for Battle would not trigger the pick following theirs, it would be end of first round
  24. It’s been said a million times before but this is self preservation, nothing more and nothing less. We don’t need experience, we need high quality
  25. I’m not actually weighting that towards McKay alone, more that we’ll get McKay and a high first rounder plus our own first rounder. Couple of highly skilled mids would have us closer than 6 more years of Trac
