Fox News reports Demons are red hot favorites for Judd
ChaserJ replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
The Judd rollercoasters going to be the end of me! I swear, each skerrick of information is giving me palpitations, and by the look of the posts, a fair few other Dees fans as well. The question I have with the Fox Sports report (as I have had with all info coming out) is, 'what is the basis for the assumption that we are now favourite'? Is it based on two day old conjecture (footy classified?) or new information? I'm still strapped in and holding the railing... -
Not that I want to see him go there, but if Judd is to go to the McPies, the Rusling, Brown and pick 14 to the Weagles is the deal I'd like to see. This would SERIOUSLY deplete the McPie's tall stocks. Not only would they lose two young talls with great potential, they couldn't even use their draft pick to try and get a replacement. i know I posted the rumour, but in the light of Clements departure, and Wakelin, Rocca to follow suit sooner rather than later, it doesn't seem likely. If it happens, the McPies will take steps backward (which I could deal with).

This post doing the rounds at big footy and Demonology: Juddy and his manager have chosen Collingw&%$. W.C will deal. Eagles want brown to be part of the deal. Thats the deal breaker, no deal if brown is off the table. Want a KP forward. Also our 1st round pick. The deal is Brown + Rusling + 14 + downgrade of picks to rd3 Pies have spent 1.2 million this year on our recruiting department and would be [censored]ed off having to sit the year out. But they have agreed. There is also something dodgy going on with a young WA player on our list who wants to go home. Collingw&%$ have also opened up its draft process and prospects to west coast for 07, 1.2 million dollar favor. Does not inc SA prospects. Woosha doesnt care what picks he receives 1-20, thinks they can develop anything, rates brown and rusling high compared to available KP talent this year. Doesnt want midfeilders, only talls. hunter, mitch, nath, rus, glass is something of a nightmare and fixes WC talls in one trade without even entering the draft. So they are rebuilding in a premiership window. This will ensure sustained success for the next decade.

Is it just media supposition that Collingwood is his preference? I've had the impression that Connors has released bits and pieces to various members of the press (bytes to drive up the price? creating speculation?), did the Collingwood preference leak from Connors?

This is a little off topic, but this gag made me laugh when I read it: A primary teacher starts a new job at a school in Collingwood and trying to make a good impression on her first day, explains to her class that she is a Collingwood fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Collingwood fans. Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says: "Mary, why didn't you raise your hand?" "Because I'm not a Collingwood fan," she replied. The teacher, still shocked, asked: "Well, if you're not a Collingwood fan, then who are you a fan of?" "I'm a Melbourne fan and proud of it," Mary replied. The teacher could not believe her ears. "Mary, why are you a Melbourne fan?" "My mum is a Melbourne fan and my dad is a Melbourne fan, and so I'm a Melbourne fan too!" "Well," said the teacher, in an obviously annoyed tone, "that's no reason for you to be a Melbourne fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mum was a prostitute, your dad was a drug addict, and your brother was a car thief, what would you be then?" "Then," Mary said, "I'd be a Collingwood fan."

Hardwick seems to be firming. Seemed to interview ok with Melb as well. I'm guessing the position wont be finalised until after Bomber Thompson meets with Essendon folk. I'd read somewhere that Sumich and Judd didn't get on that well.

Heard a rumour that Twigley has signed a contract with Channel 7. Can anyone verify this?

Nice. How about a Simpsons/Monty Burns scenario. Eddie, Pratt, Lloyd and Bailey are standing in front of Juddy's desk. With, the press of a hidden button, Eddie, Pratt and Lloyd have the trap door treatment into the eel infested pool, while Bails hands Chris the number 3.

Thanks for confirming. Another conspiracy debunked! Yeah, she did quite well, very polished. Also read that she's completing her qualification in speech pathology, and she will spend a couple of months longer in WA completing this before she joins Chris in Melbourne.

Yeah, Judd met the McPies yesterday. I heard a grab from him on Nova this morning saying 'I've met all of the clubs and will make a decision in the next couple of days'. Just to put into perspective the profile and significance of Judd's move home, I was reading the Daily Telegraph (Sydneys version of the Hun?), and between rugby stories, even they were speculating that Rebecca Twigley had a gig lined up with 7 as the weather girl, and this may have something to do with Judd's choice of club! I found myself watching the pre-Brownlow red carpet special and wondering whether Twigley's spot on the show was organised well in advance or, whether that was organised relatively quickly (post Melbourne-Judd meeting). I'm starting to sound like one of the Lone Gunman from X-Files!

A post from Demonology. Not sure how reliable it is, as we all know, there's a lot of supposition going on at the moment (including what the real story with McLean and Carroll in Germany is). I read somewhere that Judd has met with Collingwood as well, so hopefully we will know more soon. Anyways, here's the post: DangerousDemon Posted on Mon 24/09/07 18:00 Member # Date joined Posts 2061 10/09/2006 116 Hello fellow posters please heed the following message. As we all know Judd met with the powers that be of the MFC earlier in the week. I am one of, if the only person who has a viable link to the club. Therefore I wish to relay the following news of how the meeting went this week. Dean Bailey significantly enhanced the clubs chances of bringing Judd to MFC. Chris likes the new gameplan and is intersted as the where the club is headed. There were a few powerbrokers who attended the meeting and Judd told them that the MFC was now in the top two clubs of where he woud like to go ( He saw Collingw&%$ today). However irrespective of this I have been told that, he informed the club that the race was between the mfc and Collingw&%$ football clubs. It is believed that in order to secure Judd melbourne are willing to trade Johnstone, Robertson and Sylvia to not only West Coast but other clubs. The transition in which Judd is involved will not be a straight swap with the Eagles shoud we gain his vote. It is believed there would have to be some significant trading with other clubs to get him. If I hear any more news I shall let you guys know asap.

There's nothing definitive as far as I'm aware, but Robbo conceded that he is looking at other offers here: http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E19769,00.html

I agree. I love what he's done at the club over 200 plus games, and would miss his highlight reel plays next year, but if he wants to hold the club to ransom, let him go. That's his call, not the clubs. Any news on when Judd meets with the McPies?
-
He did look very happy didn't he? It was like he was trying to hide the excitement, but the camera juuust caught him looking like the proverbial cat... Couldn't help but get the giggles at that. Whether we get Judd or not, it seems like our camp has done everything possible, and that encourages me greatly. Found it interesting that Garry stated that Judd would DEFINATELY NOT captain an AFL club next season. Not much focus on the Essendon meeting, apart from Hird being present...

Or like Jordan playing for the Bullets...

Adelaide Crows to target Aaron Davey in trade week
ChaserJ replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed. Has anyone heard from the Davey camp about this? Would he actually want to go? He was far from our worst player last year, and is one of the more dynamic, recognisable players in the league. Given the Dees lack of media exposure this is a valuable commodity and one we should be loathe to part with. -
Hey dude, don't worry about the cynics, any updates regarding Chris Judd are much appreciated. It's been a long time since I've been so excited at this stage of a finals series! Hypothetically, If the number 4 pick were to help the Dees land Judd, would that completely offset the poor year on the field we (the fans) had to endure?
