The only reason we have a small chance of potentially being granted exemption to get a replacement player in is because Carlton are trying to do the same. If it was just us, no chance but them? They usually get their way.

Still think it lacks a tall. When JVR goes into the ruck our forward line is fairly uncompetitive. One of Johnson or Jeffo will have a spot in Round 1 imo. (Or Tmac back and Petty forward)

If he is playing in our side in any capacity I’m of some concern to be honest. Does some nice things but too many errors come with it. With 8-9 players who *will* come back into our side surely he would be pushed to the end of the emergency list.

Does Bont have ‘pace’? That’s who Langford reminds me of in the way he moves and kicks the footy. don’t think it’ll be an issue for him. Gonna be a Star.

The AFL had no sympathy with the Angus Brayshaw situation last season when he retired on the eve of the season and the SSP window had just shut. Unfortunately there’ll be no exceptions.

I think overall we played well in tough conditions against an extremely poor side. A lot of our young guys stood up and strutted their stuff against North best 22 regulars. Competition for spots this year will be tight and almost ferocious. Which is brilliant

‘Impressed’ would be exaggerating but I think for his first competitive hit out with the “big boys” he showed enough. Had shots on goal, showed some ground level work and got his hands to it. Always room to improve for a young key forward but with an actual run at it I think he’ll play games at senior level this year and kick goals with better players around him. (Considering who we were missing).

On the tv coverage it looked like he pointed more to the inside of his knee rather than the outside. (Which would be a good sign if it was a medial not an acl)

North would be alarmed by this considering they’re nearly 95% full strength whereas we have 8-9 of our best out. Best being the majority of the absolute A graders.

Love to hear it. No point risking the guys said who are missing out against North in that weather. Save em. Protect the older bodies/ guys with injury clouds. No doubt the majority if not all will be on the plane to play freo next week as well👍🏼

Imagine May wouldn’t play either considering he played in the Indigenous game and we fly back to Perth next week to play Freo. + Viney has been on modified training so it would make sense that they give him another week rather than playing him in match sim against North.

Looks like with all the said absentees of tomorrows match there won’t be any players left to play for Casey in their practice match 😂

Will just be like a normal match day. I imagine Casey players and our players who aren’t picked for the first team will have their captains run following the firsts? (If the VFL practice match (North v Casey) is still going ahead tomorrow with the weather.

Aidan Johnson and Henderson were the two they were talking about. Henderson would’ve been picked at our last selection if we got a tall (Tauru) instead of one of Langford/Lindsay. But they went with Johnson because they selected the two mids first up. Worked out in the end👍🏼

Any player placed on the inactive list means they will be out for at least the whole season. They can’t be taken off it until the following year which means they’re marked ineligible to play at any level until the next season.
