Think a few points has been mixed and lost in translation. Are we talking Pickett and Dovastan or are we talking the back end small forwards? Dovaston or Pickett I’d back to have a better crack at it/making an impact at senior level over McAdam, Mentha and Henderson. As for the small forwards available at 37? Probably not. Especially not in this draft.

Think Nairn is a lock no matter what happens. But yes the Pickett situation opens up more than it ever has if Taylor, Cumming, Farrow is gone.

Essential. The neglect of the small forward at Melbourne is a concern. Sure we have Kozzy, but if Chandler is up the ground again we severely lack a small pressure crumbing forward. Especially when you consider our forward like having the lack of pressure with JVR, Melksham, Fritsch, Mihocek…

All I know is 2026 will be Richo’s last in his current role. So maybe this is just to get the right man in a year early which is perfect for Steven Kings first year.

He’s one of the players I’d love most. Damaging kick, strong body and tough/competitive as anyone. Can see him being much more than just a half back.

By no means am I saying he’s terrible but he’s not what we need. Even with the hole left by Oliver and Trac. I’m sure he’ll be a fine footballer and have a long career, I personally just don’t think a slow inside accumulator is what we lack.

Wouldn’t be a surprise if we threw 7&8 at West Coast on Night 1 for 2&13 and take Robey and one of Nairn/Pickett. But whether or not the Eagles bite (to ensure they get Farrow) is another question.
