Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Keep him far far far away. Smug, sly, c0cky and calculated. Looks like it’s wearing thin too.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Waverely getting a Red and Blue paint job as a ‘move before the move’ ? Talks continue 👀 Am sure the list of candidates for the top job will know all about that pretty quickly.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Any one of Hinkley, Simpson or Buckley sends shivers up the spine in the worst way. If we are going a ‘recycled’ coach. It’s Longmire or no one. Surely? Skipworth has an eery Mark Neeld factor about him. Any of the players from the Geelong (Corey Enright, Steven King, Joel Corey), Hawthorn (David Hale) or Richmond (Shaun Grigg) dynasties would be brilliant choices and have weight to bring good football people in with them if we go down the first time coach path.

Time to go Goody?
He may or may not admit that. But he won’t publicly because that foregoes a 7 figure pay out….

Time to go Goody?
Yep. Richo will be gone if not “downgraded”. Much like Mahoney was who then left because he felt undermined. Rinse and repeat.

Time to go Goody?
Stay away from the tried coaches. New blood for the new game. Someone like a Sam Mitchell. The Geelong alumni like Corey Enright/Steven King are great starts. Modern coaches for the modern game is the way forward. Damien Hardwick is a different case study because he knew it was time to leave Richmond and knew what he was walking into with that list at GC. We aren’t in the position to hand over a list that is on the cusp of success anymore so to get a coach like Longmire, Buckley, Simpson or Hinkley would be the wrong move in my opinion.

Time to go Goody?
I think a few people get lost in “not all the blame is on Goodwin”. Of course it’s not solely on him, it involves the players and everyone else at the club. But he’s the head of the table. He’s been here 9 years as out Senior Coach + anther 2-3 as Roosy’s assistant. Things get stale. It’s the right time. The club and players need a new voice and direction. There is no better time to do it with a new incoming President and CEO. A new head of footy should be high on the agenda also as Richo and Goodwin are hand in hand. Just rip the bandaid. The slowly painful death is tiresome and we all know it’s just delaying the inevitable.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
The plot thickens

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
If Jackson comes to Melbourne (which anyone who thinks the deal is completely off needs to be reminded of Dan Houston and Tom Barrass’ comments on their future early on in the season last year) it’ll be on a 7+ year agreement on far more than his current 900k deal. Because that’s what the new CBA reflects. 900k when he signed at Freo is now around 1.1 in the current market. 1.3m for 7 years would be in the range of a deal if it was to be done. Again Jackson ‘coming home’ is certainly not off, more so just buried a little because it’s so early on in 2025 👀

TRAINING: Monday 7th April 2025
Interesting to put Chandler in the same sentence as the 5 others mentioned considering he’s 25.

TRAINING: Saturday 15th March 2025
At the moment Mark Jamar is only scheduled to participate in one training a week which will be main training👍🏼

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
Henderson has made a very strong impression since coming in. Anyone who is surprised about his inclusion shouldn’t be given how he played against Sandringham last week in a practice match. Think there’ll be a few in the side fairly nervy about their spot with someone who wants to work as hard as him to get a crack. Great signs for the squad depth at the moment even more so because of the unavailability of Koz, Judd, Melksham and Koltyn💪

Tairon Ah-Mu - No access for Dees NGA Talent
Corey is the one who has already shown a fair bit in comparison to Tairon (albeit only in his 15/16’s year.) Here’s hoping.

Club Emblem
I must say “Demon Spirit” is absolute rubbish. Done to death now. Was hoping for something new this year. Would also love a new emblem. Love the MFC badge but everything else about it is no good.

Kentfield is 44. 46 the next available with 34 seemingly reserved.

SSP contenders
Josh Gabelich has just reported that the paperwork has been submitted to the AFL for Culley to be a Melbourne player.

SSP contenders
George based on what? Purely cause he’s a small forward? Because if that’s the reason, I’m sure there’s plenty more and better options around the state leagues than him. Lots of chatter for someone who has proved next to nothing. I’ve been to a few trainings and seen him do some flashy things but he isn’t near consistent enough and doesn’t do the defensive stuff and that is apparently the knock on him.

SSP contenders
I think he more so said I don’t know why the deadline is before every club has played the practice game because that’s not ‘fair’. But because it’s not hawthorn in that situation he’d rather the deadline not be extended.

SSP contenders
A bit outside the box but Jack Henderson did start his vfl career as a small defender and he mentioned that the other day too. Could come into Melbourne’s thoughts with Sharp kicking the goals he did.

SSP contenders
Feel like Culley is being mis profiled. He is 194cm and 94-96kgs. He’s a big mid. Kolt isn’t that nor is he that type of player.

Article states that all clubs were contacted and supported the idea because it should be fair game for every club (re all clubs getting a practice match before the window shuts). Good to see the AFL being proactive.
