  1. Had multiple defenders around him and blocking him, not to mention the disgraceful delivery. Could have been better for sure, but there's also a fair bit of blame for the mids and the coaches in not playing their parts.
  2. Gawn legitimately talked about 'positives' and 'things they'll learn' in his post-match. ?‍♂️
  3. IN: Bennell, Hibberd, Bedford, Pickett, Hannan OUT: Jones (inj), OMac, Smith, Melksham, Wagner
  4. Everyone has to cop it for that. Players refused to dig deep and do the hard things. You could see from the very start they were hesitant in going into contests, refused to tackle, refused to run without the ball. A current assistant coach at another club messaged one of my mates "these players just have no ticker". Goodwin had no answers yet again. It's hard to see improvements he's made in his time as senior coach. Most of the 'improvement' has come from a better list. So many of the same problems with no answers year after year. It's also hard to see how we motivates the players. The corporate speak and monotony doesn't seem to be working. Stafford. Firstly, goal kicking is very very poor. Clearly not working. Secondly, our ruck work seems to have gone backwards to the point where it's rare that our rucks hit it anywhere near one of our own players. Richardson. What has he brought exactly? Neither here nor there with him tbh, but I've seen nothing different from a coaching perspective. Don't want to go too overboard after one game, but this is too much of a recurring theme now, these things happen far too often. Staggered if people keep believing that 'Goody has the players' after seeing this kind of thing over and over.
  5. Being managed throughout the season according to Burgess' plan for him. Good chance to be picked for the Freo game.
  6. Sparrow isn't going anywhere.
  7. Left field idea: Play Smith forward and Brown in the ruck (or even vice versa) so that Max can play less game time. Thoughts?
  8. I like Tomlinson back too, just thought you were being a bit harsh on OMac by saying Lever was "scoffing" at it when I think it was meant more as Lever saying he decides his own performance and doesn't want to rely on others.
  9. Ok, good chat.
  10. I never said he wouldn't make a good coach. My opinion is he needs a bit more experience, that's pretty much it. If you ask the Casey boys, they all loved him as their head coach, and the MFC players all speak highly of him as well. I think he'll be a senior AFL coach at some stage, just not quite yet.
  11. Seem to remember May playing on Charlie Cameron before, so he can play on smalls when needed, not sure it will be this week though. Ran in the GF sprint one year too, so does have wheels.
  12. Mate, I know you hate OMac, but you're stretching the truth a fair bit there. Paraphrasing here: 'When Oscar comes in the side it definitely relieves me of having to play on that 2nd or 1st tall...' 'Don't want to have to keep Oscar out there for me to play well...' 'I definitely enjoy when Oscar is in the side, but don't want to have to rely on that to play well...' https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/804633/media-conference-jake-lever?videoId=804633&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1598855500001
  13. Can't see where we fit him in forward with Fritsch and ANB coming in.
  14. Personally I would have gone with Lockhart, but out of the selected team my guess is it will be a mix of Rivers and Smith.
  15. He's a good shut down player for ball getter types, but I don't rate him as a stopper for crafty small forwards like Papley.
  16. Seems a tall backline for Sydney if that's the case. All of May, Lever, OMac and Smith in the backline.
  17. No I wouldn't, and nowhere did I say that. You didn't say anything about apprenticeships, you said Rawlings won't make a good senior coach because he doesn't have "mongrel". Just gave you 3 'mongrels' who were failures as senior coaches.
  18. Like Voss? Maybe Hird? How about Neeld?
  19. Haha I like that friend zone analogy. Well played.
  20. Yet he very nearly got the Freo job because their board were so impressed with him.
  21. No it wasn't, he was still contracted.
  22. Who says it hasn't worked out well for Rawlings? Clearly wasn't happy at Melbourne with how they mucked around his role, seems to have a more settled role now. Weird bump. Bloke will be a senior coach at some stage. Smart footy person, good communicator, not a 'yes man' like Goody wants. He was a loss for us.
  23. Trying to DM you ET. Inbox full?
  24. Gee who would have thought when you follow someone around making smart alec comments about their posts they'd get annoyed? Let's both chill out with that stuff hey?
  25. The sources say "if we score more than them we win". They also say you should post things already reported in the media as some kind of inside scoop. #ETwiththelatenews #IsETSandraSully #WhatDoesHeKnow #NotMuch
