Gawndy the Great

I really like what Brayshaw has done in the back half. He may not be as clean with his kicking, but he brings some great defensive presence and game reading ability. With more time, i think he can really be used as a weapon off half back. I know he did a great job in 2021 as the defensive winger, but he has done his time and i think deserves a more fruitful role so IMO he stays at HB. JJ can take the slack on the defensive wing. Bowey / Salem speak for themselves and id love to see one of these two, moved into the HF line. How you shuffle the magnets with this move is another issue but that is another discussion all together.

I do wonder how Robbo holds his spot as cohost. I'd have Sarah Jones as Whateley's cohost. Its a bit out there i know, but she speaks well and is magnitudes more intelligent than the Robbo.

Hopefully the team will rise to the occasion and play a good brand of 4 quarter footy. Really stamp our authority on the season, which is what i expect will happen. They play a similar offensive brand to the Hawks, Crows, Blues. If you stop their quick ball movement and hit them on the turnover, their lack of defensive system will be exposed for all to see.

I would love to know the answer to that question as well. Also while we are at it, we should get a cut of all ticket sales for all games played at our home base. 10% should be sufficient.

Such a shame for J Smith. Was such a trivial incident and can’t believe it resulted in a fracture. Tommo is obviously next in line, given that Petty comes back in this week.

I really wanted us to chase Shiel when he was up for trade at GWS. He was a stoppage beast with explosive power out of the contest. Thankfully we didn’t and thankfully we have Oliver and Trac instead.

I think this is the best thing to take away from this. No other team is near it.

Well there isn’t much else left to be said about us given everything that was said was said last year. So the narrative is now how to remove us from the pedestal. It sucks but I get it. At least we get to hear how good we are… can’t say I get too sick about that. I dare teams to try and do what Hawthorn tried. They were brave, yes, but also stupid. 9/10 it doesn’t work and you get torched when it doesn’t..

100% this. He was at least at some stage the best. If you qn whether he his right now, then he’s definitely top 10. And really from there it’s more about consistency rather than talent as it’s hard to split the players in that bracket.

It looked very harmless. yze said rolled ankle so hopefully nothing that some ice, compression and an 8 day break can’t fix. We play the Saints next Sunday which is plenty of time for them to get over the slog in Cairns

With all due respect, I don’t think Amateur footy compares. Recovery activities , dehydration , cortisol etc will make it really difficult for a good night sleep.

We played the night before. From a recovery standpoint it is effectively the same as a 5 day.

Hawks have to be out of puff soon. They are playing really offensively to try and open us up on rebound … even our boys were struggling to get back in that last bit. Wouldn’t be surprised if we started to pile them on after the first 5-10 mins.

We weathered the Hawthorn 1st quarter blitz. We should slowly put our stamp on this game. They are taking a lot of risk going through the corridor and will turnover a bit more as the game wears on. This is the game we want. Bedford needs to put a bit more forward pressure but has had a reasonably good start. Make Kozzy earn his spot back. Still a few passengers. Harmes, Dunstan Rivers and Spargs need to lift. Not comfortable in weed playing LJs role.
