Besides Brayshaw who is also out of contract, i think all of them have taken unders in their recent contracts. The big one will be Lever and May given they probably took a larger chunk of cash having to be pulled out of their clubs. i cannot imagine them taken too much less though as they are still AA defenders. In May's case, he will most likely retire at MFC. Lever is still quite young though and would be demanding top dollar.

You talk perfect sense. Unfortunately that doesnt necessarily transfer across into the footy bubble... If a team really wants LJ, that is probably what it takes to get his signature today. A lot of risk on both sides. MFC know this is unlikely and hence defer the big money contract a few years to buy some time and more cap space. I also think right now that 700-750 is still too high but that is probably what it takes to keep him. Would be interesting to see what Demonlanders think he is worth right now.

Everyone is different ManDee. There is nothing certain in footy so it depends on his character tbh. He might be risk averse and hence take the road of securing his life now with a more lucrative long term offer. I agree that his future is bright which ever road he takes, just the one with ours will probably earn him a bit less in $$$ in the long run. 🤷‍♂️

If WC offer him $8M on a 6-7 year deal, then the why come to WC is pretty clear. He doesnt seem to be that type of person, but can anyone really blame him if he did take the carrot?

Geez, the media is really chasing this story... shouldn't have surprised me but the 7 digit number is now being mentioned in tandem with Luke. The kid has played 32 games. I have no problem pumping the kid up as he has shown us a lot at very early on his career, but this is getting a bit ludicrous.

Problem with this is, your tradables probably earn about 1/2 or less of the untouchables so it isn’t going to do much in freeing up cap space unless we trade multiple at which point We’ll need to let one of those players go to keep LJ. Then there is Clayto in a few years time and he’s definitely a keeper.

You could also argue that Cameron is past his peak and overrated as well.

So we are calling it quits on Rosman? I think thats a tad early given the kid has barely played a game for two years. He’d be in a similar boat as Laurie wouldn’t he? If we are to keep LJ and then pivot for Oliver’s next contract, we are going to need to give up more than some players in the 2s.

Exactly he is still a WIP and whilst he has a huge upside nothing is set in stone. He has the best possible mentor available at his disposal and would be wise to develop his craft some more under the guidance of Big Max. 3 year deal total 1.8 - 2 M should get it done.

Hold your hoses. Franklin was an established star when he signed that 10 year deal. LJ is good, but has yet to prove himself to that extent.
