You can be guaranteed what ever the FD end up doing will be short sighted and with the hindsight of history will end up being the opposite of what we should have done aka the Dom Tyson Josh Kelly maneuver.

Boy did we prove him wrong last night. Finishing last year in the top 8 came down to the last few rounds and there were games that were not too dissimilar to this year where we would not turn up. Had we lost the last 2 and ended up 9th, then the drop to 17th considering the pre season is plausible. So a bit of bad luck (injuries) and a few typical MFC missing quarters ... makes sense to me at least. The gameplan should have been adjusted, we are not a mature or consistent enough side to play the Richmond brand of footy. it's hard to back it up week in , week out. If the 44 (minus those injured) dont turn up starping fit on day 1 of pre season for Burgesses month(s) of hell, then we will just be making up the numbers and a rebuild will be looming. My 2 cents.

First post so please be kind. Like all of you, long time suffering and frustrated Demons supporter. I think a lot of people including the playing list think it will just happen as this year was a result of injuries, preseason etc. To some extent I agree it severely limited our ability to win. However it will not be so easy and I expect barring some miracle that we will only have a modest improvement next year - thinking something like a 2017 year. Our problems this year have been primarily related to ball movement and skill by foot. Last year we were much quicker, decisive and accurate in disposal than we are atm. We probably wont get Langon and or Hill as we there are many more cashed up clubs and hence our Hope's lie with the draft and they will take time to develop. 2021 is probably our next genuine tilt at finals if all goes right.

What I noticed at the game yest is we are way over balanced on the inside. In almost every stoppage Saints had two in the defensive outside. if we won the stoppage their pressure would make us cough up or lead to ineffective disposal. When they win the contest they would just handball backwards, knowing they were there , and slingshot into f50. I couldn't believe the coaching staff didnt do anything to stop this. just the same old win the contested ball... but its mean nothing if we get burnt on the outside and just bomb it forward.
