First time I’ve watched Nick Daicos.. is he having an off game?- not sure I can see what the fuss is about him winning the rising star.

We would be silly to rush Petty back without more time into match fitness. One more week in the 2’s ain’t going to hurt to build some form. Worried about Trac and the swelling and hope it’s not one of those we need go in and clean up the knee type of injuries.

Was on AFL tonight as well. Knee and hamstring concerns. My guess is we won’t know for sure until 5 mins before the bounce.

Its more or less called a block these days. But is very inconsistent because its open to interpretation.

I dont mind a bit of argy bargy Pates. But agree there is a line - the problem with most rules in the AFL is that we as viewers and supporters like the 'grey' but if you skew too much one way or another, its when we get angry. Problem with the 'grey' is that is super hard to umpire and introduces a little bias and interpretation. But you want to afford a player to break a tackle, to nudge the opponent under ball etc. My fear is that we are making a B-line to a non-contact sport, given new concussion research is quite alarming wrt to degenerative changes in the brain and the linkage to depression and suicide. Re: Maxy, what they need to look at more is the whacks Maxy gets across the back of his head everytime he goes up for a contested mark. That is what i'd be ringing the AFL up about.

His kicking is still sketchy at times so he’s there only until Salem gets back imo.

In early season I’d agree they have a score to settle. Also Lions have the cattle too.

Says a lot. Tag the Shiz out of Cripps when he comes back from his injury. Not throwing out the baby with the bathwater but If the Blues were any chance this year they would have found a way to win today. So how far can we go undefeated this season? Who is the most likely to knock us off?

Absolutely on the money. Our form in the last 2 weeks isn’t that great. But that is the benefit of having a defensive based game plan. It’s easier to sustain, play below standard and still win. I reckon we also have another gear reserved for finals and it’s that 2018 manic offence. Very rarely is that out in show in HA season I don’t think the 8 has settled either. Port have probably missed finals now. Doggies are 50/50 atm and can’t see Essendon make it either. Carlton will probably get through on early form but who takes the other 1-2 spots - there are really no other teams capable outside of Richmond as most of them are in some sort of rebuild.

A couple of things. Doggies are on the brink. They need to pull consecutive wins in the next 2-3 weeks otherwise finals will be a lost hope. Also the hype on JUH in retrospect was over the top. I get that it’s year 2 only (year 1 in afl) but you would expect to have seen 1/4 or half of footy by now where you say yup, gonna be a star. Not saying he isn’t going to be a good player but star quality is looking less likely every time I watch him play. Imagine for a moment if Kozzy can develop a similar game to Shai. Definitely got the skills , mobility and dynamic aspect but probably lacking some confidence and endurance. Got to run him more through the middle I think. Would love the coaches to try and develop him in the same capacity.

One of the Casey small forwards need to get a crack. We have a lot of depth that needs some AFL exposure to develop further as the VFL just isn’t the same. i think Petty needs another week or two and BBB slots straight back in for Weid.

Well it’s going to get worse before it gets better given expansion plans. This is on the AFL. Should have kept the number of teams to 10 max for a decade and let it evolve organically with the girls coming up from junior sides with proper coaching and experience. Maybe should have had a state based league (2-3 teams from each) as opposed to AFL mens affiliates that have probably caused this issue due to FOMO.

Yep I agree but probably a bit too late given they already have 4 flags which will take decades to match given how imbalanced the team quality is. We basically played against the SA squad with probably 3-4 players in our team that would make the equivalent VIC squad. but if the shoe was in the other foot I wouldn’t be complaining so tough luck.

Their list also hasn't been raided as much as we have had to cough up over the years.

the quality of football on our part is shocking. Skills are on par with U10's football. Adelaide looks clean, fit and prime to set an AFLW GF record.

i also seem to recall that Brayshaw brushed off talks of leaving in one of the Gus n Gawn podcasts. His demeanor and body language suggests he is not going anywhere. I also think the demand to get more midfield minutes surely is not true - it is so against the team ethos that was central to our success that makes it very unbelievable. I suspect he is probably after a longer term deal than what is being offered. Maybe a 4 or 5 year one.

Didn’t they go out the first week? From memory they were knackered having to play there guts out week after week.

He seemed overtly annoyed with Young. Made a point to go extra hard at him. Some crowd jeers against Kozzy as well. Hopefully nothing sinister in it.

TMac just understands the game better than Weid. How to position himself where to lead etc.
