The year of the Dee
So true but it’s always the lot of some to use worst case scenarios really like 2022/3 to occur again. The theory is that we all start equal again in Round Zero/1 or whatever. One player in my previous post I didn’t even cover was JVR. I can see him having a real breakout year if we get the forward options we have deliberately targeted plus our existing talent all around him. His body strength plus confidence and team values plus an X factor in his marking ( refer to the top 5 marks of the year for reference) he is a Monty to kick 40plus goals this season. Can’t wait for the season if our recruits and existing talent get a sniff of a good game plan and trust in each other. There are a dozen good players we can use to kick goals and not one of them is like each other. They all have separate skills and it would be a nightmare to mind them all. Let's hope they all get on the park at some stage.

What a horrible half glass empty future you are predicting. I can easily come up with the half glass full story completely the opposite and believe it’s far more likely than your dire negativity. For starters Clarry is not missing yet. It’s his situation that we don’t know or can’t predict but I believe we will have him back fit and firing at some stage. Who has ruled Petts out of the early rounds ? Even the additions of McAdam Billing’s Kolsthrup and Fullarton would transform our goal scoring plus a fit Fritta. Also BBB might just be match fit again and fill the Petty void for a few rounds. So Max and Stevie are going to fall off a cliff in 2024. Not on their watch! Count on improvement of Rivers in the middle a revitalised Lingers and Hunter or Howes or Taj plus Mc Vee improved and Salo back fit like in 2021. Tom Sparrow taking the next step and Joel Smith and Melky to return later in the season. Trac couldn’t kick any worse and can straighten our inaccuracy horrors. Oh and Mini gets the forward line and connectivity issues solved and improved. I don’t believe any of my glass full points are unachievable or some even unlikely. That is the potential of our list existing and new players for 2024 and a flag at the G is a very real possibility given a great injury run. We have had our down years and 2024 is a great chance to right our wrongs and misfortune of 2022 and 2023. Three wins at the G. Go Dees!!

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
A very poor man’s Hibbo IMO. The thought of Marty being an AA like Hibbo is a fantasy. I reckon he is not good enough or strong enough for a key position and not quick ( pacy ) enough or clever enough to mind small and clever half forwards. His best attribute is his marking and is an interceptor but not a replacement for Lever either. Has won 2 Cwood VFL B and F and I think finished 2nd in ours at Casey one year. Is 28 and we really should be looking at a younger player for halfback as we already have Bowser Rivers Salem McVee Joel Smith Disco Turner and even Woey who can play there at a higher level Ibelieve. Lookslike Marty will train with us and try to join on the PSSP list before the season starts. Played about 20 games over 3/4 seasons from 2019 to 2021 and mostly in2019 he played 14 I think when we had all the players carrying pre season and injuries from 2018. Did get one injury which prevented him from having a good go at it but didn’t seriously challenge our best in 2021. Could really be called a List clogger at this stage of his career no matter how he plays in my opinion he should not be able to replace the players above unless they are all injured.

2023 MFC Financials
Cash Reserves of $10mill approx. is in the article, I am certain. Put away your microscope and please delete that ridiculous and shameful Cutoff Hawk that has no place in the Melbourne Club logos. It brings many fans heartache and sadness of a previous era. It is completely irrelevant and adds nothing to your posts. You

Melksham set to play on in 2024
Agree Dazzle. Let’s hope Melky is back early days around Bye time for a good run into Finals. Can add so much to our Forward line along with the newbies from both the trade and draft selections. Totally exciting group at our disposal now.

PODCAST: Jason Taylor Interview
We have drafted 2 key forwards in the last 2 drafts JVR and MJ and a key defender in Jed Adams last year. There was Laurie and Bowey 3 years ago for much needed smalls with good disposal. Tick Bowser 2021 Premiership player. Really IMO both most urgent needs are addressed this draft. Forwards McAdam Billing Fullarton 2nd ruck/resting plus mid size power X factor forward Koltyn Holstrup and. Goal kicking outside running winger /hf Caleb Windsor and rookie mid Kynan Brown. I was a little disappointed we didn’t take Curtin at 6 but we obviously decided on CW and also KH firmly beforehand. I am happy with that group and believe greatest weaknesses have been addressed. If BBB and T Mac are fit and firing by some miracle we will have all the pieces in place with just a faster game plan from Mini. JT and TL have done well.

I’ll be quite happy if BBB can remain injury free. Will add quite a bit if that happens.

Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup
Not enough of our mids though kick goals also. We need Trac to kick 50.10 not 29.34 or similar I guess but Kolt looks as though he will balance the ledger and I suspect that his mate Caleb on the wing may well tip that balance further!! A great example of recruiting for needs not only pace run strength and power BUT goals from both will be expected and plenty we hope.

2024 Fixture
Hawks at U TAS are not a joke ! Their record is about 75% win and taken an MCG game off them. Gold Coast they beat by 3 pts at Carrara. Appear both to be danger games to me not a joke Beever. Only easy one is West Coast.

2024 Fixture
Why are those 2 games a joke? All clubs have those games . Admittedly some haven’t had an AFL game at Launceston. Us btw.

The Go Home Factor
What do you mean? Don’t understand your point. It’s not correct if you say Adelaide or we didn’t want Lever or Jacko To move

Welcome to Demonland Kynan Brown
With great respect your comparison of Kynan to the Lizard of the Swans really ends with being a left foot kick. Blakey looks like a beautiful gliding Rolls Royce vehicle across the turf and Kynan a small medium Cortina, however no less effective in his highlights. The weapon Kynan appears to have is his tenacity tackling and speed to break away and to dispose purposely. Could well be a great addition to our midfield and like the fact that he is a leftie. All the best Kynan just be yourself and we know you will get the very best out of yourself.

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Fullarton USA ruckman who tests up forward and can play in a key position. To say he is not a ruckman is incorrect. He has been for Lions and is regarded with some ability. He would be our first choice if Max is injured with Schache or Verrall second and third. We are not as lightning as you have stated so rest easy Deanox.

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Fullarton definitely deserves an opportunity to display his craft on the ruck at Casey.
