2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
58er replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks GD 98 For your views Which are of interest. -
thank you Oscar Unfairly blamed for midfield errors and lack of backline skill. As goalkeeper your stats would be far better than people imagine especially your disposal which was in AFL standards quit ok. Good luck in your career and life and be proud of what you achieved Fir our mighty Demons.

Certainly one I (we) we will never forget

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
58er replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
BAMF and Gawndog98 I reckon Salos last half of 2020 was as good a block of games ( like in early 2018 I think it was) he has played in the Red and Blue. GF98 got it right about impacting and influence And these 6/8 games he was busy and productive plus looked to run harder had much more urgency and hit up forwards and even scored a couple of goals. He almost played a midfield role in style but launched himself off HB with great effect. I believe he could/should be either on the wing or HF flank In 2021. For all of the above reasons and his elite disposal by either foot finishes his upgrade to B+ or A - player along with Langers. Msybe Baker boils be tried at HF If Salem hoes to the wing. On the defensive side without Salem IMO Locky at BP on the small and Hibbo Rivers Smith Lever plus Jordan and possibly Sparrow ( not Harmes) can play HB on various types. Even Baker could be tried on HB. Our coaches must be more adaptable and hopefully Yze can implant this in Goody moving forward this next season. -
Most fans Elwood think another ready made small crumber is ONE GAP worth looking at Plus an outside winger/ runner HF flanker that kicks goals and maybe a FORWARD or versatile KEy position type. I think we all agree that all of the players must have composure and good disposal skills.

Thanks Daz. ( I am from Qld but ex Vic of 27 years.) Is SFL like the old Federal District or SEFL.?
-
Yes that's correct he did say that.

People are muffed by the expectations of Petty for us (from many in D/L ) either in defence or attack saying pretty negative things about him! But I am certainly extraordinarily and completely amazed by one or two D/L ers with a desire to recruit Marley Williams. Not only dies that make it his third Club he butchers the ball Even more than any one on our list but is rather error prone. I would compare him even unfavourably with Josh Wagner!!! Whats SFL ??? anyway,

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

DeeTox look at my post re goals on the run and IMO I think Ben is at least as strong as Weid Tommy Jesse Bailey and Maxy. I would say I think May and Lever are slightly stronger marks but it's the overall total taken that's important after alI. I suspect your misgivings will be erased Both in strength and style of goals. -
Will be a once in a generation player like NicNat Trac or Clarry May well be our best outside mid by this time next year!!!
-
Surprising how much depth you need during 22/25 games in a season. PlanB can be sufficient but often Plan C is needed like in 2019!

DeeTox Brown had injury and personal family issues which affected his form. Dont remember Lockett or Dunstall Getting any more than 25% of their goals on the run! Far from it. Will give other forwards a lift as well as get 45/50 plus I think. -

AF Whats wrong with Fritschy? He has been our best forward fir last 2 years even with poor kicking fir goal And underwhelming forward line coaching and development. If he puts on more weight it will help his body strength in marking and tackling . Also his kicking is mainly in his head. He needs practice and confidence plus bring taught the smarts ie not leading to pockets. Will be a major strength of our team once these issues are worked on. -
Where does this leave our future star Harry Petty? CHF or CHB ? It will be interesting to see what happens in training in Early 2021. Hope Goody and coaches have an open mind and don't label one or the other categorically like he has Joel Smith. I would be quite happy to have both as swingman as Tommy Must be a reserve ruck also it looks like.
-
RDB and Kent We didn't recruit Jacko to be a full time wingman Mainly ruck forward and around the ground with some Forward play fir goals, Very occasionally as a mid.

Sort of thought that a bit thanks DC but I some times don't have time on here to have to decipher some D/Lers humour vs serious comments. -

Great postWells Sensitive and positive and Like every Dees supporter I can't wait to see Ben strut his stuff with our other forwards on the G in 2021. If Bayley and Sam and Jacko plus the rest of the forwards have not started Walking a foot Taller already I'd be surprised. A sort of Restart to our 2014 journey This time with a final chapter and happy ending in a year or two!!! -
That's like some people ruling Tommy Mac out of playing AFL this year. Each season a team or player starts From scratch and can train and play practice game/s so well that he Can't be ignored. Yes Harry will do well to play Round 1 but he would be desperate to No doubt. Deep down Tommy likewise Imagine if the 2018 Tomny returned with Harry and BBB at full forward how good would our chances be fir the Top 4???
-
We have recruited a smart player with ability. Long May he lead our attack!!
