WERRIDEEâS Rolling Squads
Goodman is not necessarily a coach who drops. Look at the time he kept ANB on board till pre 2021 when he offered him a transfer but he could find one!â After all that time. And I have a feeling that Chin Chandler is in stage of development if he doesnât kick more goals he should not be anywhere near an auto selection as most D/Lers have gone in 2025 teams. I havenât even got him in my 27/28 including emergencies.

They are saying MJ is not ready yet not that he is not going to make it in 2024. Goody had him as an emergency for 3 weeks in a row as a reward. Now that he is having his third pre season and has put on more weight again and is quite a big size he will be more confident to start his AFL career. Like McVee itâs a timing issue and development is all important. Stop looking on the half glass empty and give him the support he needs to add to his career. I have every confidence and look forward to him debuting early in 2025.

That shows your ignorance of shoe fashion. Perhaps it is a bad omen for you? FYI I believe Clarryâs shoes were polished albeit standardly but against patent leather doesnât as you said âthe polish doesnât stand out the same. â Lovely photo of the trio and as posted in this topic if these lads can shine a la 2021 we will be in a much better space. Of course subject to a fit and healthy season for them all.

WERRIDEEâS Rolling Squads
As I posted about a week ago Jeffo despite all the naysayers has made considerable progress since halfway through the VFL/AFL season last year. For many to trot out the same old lacks physical presence or physique, and competitiveness, ste simply ignoring facts. He kicked 30 goals in the season even with JVR in his last season in the VFL. So it must be recognised that he has some goal kicking potential. I actually believe he has more footy forward smarts and tricks than Rooyey and recognise he is a different player who will add a different dimension to our forward list. Examples of that are his snapshots marking skills leading and ability to find the ball on the ground. In saying this I am not underestimating JVR and his great physical presence in flying plus his marking team play or follow up whether as a forward or in the ruck. Jeffo has put in up to 8/9/10 kgs on the last 2 seasons and also plays as a natural forward with his kills and is just as good a kick for goal as JVR both being very accurate compared to dome of our other forwards. As I mentioned Goody ( Selection Cttee) picked Jeffo as an emergency for the last 3 AFL games last year so he then must have satisfied many of the doubts about his readiness for the top grade. He as I have previously suggested may be able to play a half forward flank/ forward pocket role roaming when he debuts which means he would probably escape a 1,2,or3 defender marking him. I canât wait for him to debut and yes he may not star at first but I believe his development pattern like JVR has been well handled by the Club. With Turner Fritta and Johnson plus our other mediums Trac Langford and Lindsay and smalls Kossie Chin and hopefully Brown and I would like AMW to be tried as a HFF. Season 2025 is going to be different for its change and game plan plus our youth and Jeffo is going to be an exciting watch when he gets his chance. All the best for his career and I will be mildly shocked if he doesnât end up marking a name for himself on out forward line in the future. The doubters will then be the ones with a pleasant surprise and at ease experience as a result.

Brown needs elevating to see how near he is to AFL standard and if he has the stamina for a full game at the highest level.

Well you differ from the Senior Coach. As I said you are basically in the wrong and I canât understand your statements and attitude. What has Jeffo got to do to satisfy you???

Training Ground?
As I have previously pointed out and Demonsome and others mostly on the negative side are continually ignoring the facts about our training location and development. This base especially the ovals and some other facilities are not just for MFC use BUT for the local community and clubs to utilise. Your points about Govt. funding are purely based on your considerations only include MFC. The truth is that the local community inclusion will be the reason that funding is generated for this project by a wider variety of stakeholders especially Govts of each level. So your doubts about funding availability are most likely very wide of the mark and inaccurate on this occasion. Caulfield will proceed and be our base I believe because of the strategic importance of the mix it provides all stakeholders with an elite facility for a wide variety of users for the district.

What has Jeffo got to show you if you have not seen him training or in the last half of last season a desperate attitude? He has overcome his lack of confidence and aggression according to the majority of VFL and track watchers and is regarded by most ( actually Goody had him as an emergency for the last 3 games in 2024) now as a genuine player ready to step up if his attitude and practice form continue in the same vein and also improves. So really your last para might really be considered as a view that is out of date and almost irrelevant, looking towards 2025 forward planning. Jeffo is being looked upon as the next big thing in the same way as JVR was 2 years ago before he made his long anticipated debut. Albeit his development has been in a vastly different manner.

Rebound or Rebuild?
Think Jeffo is more likely to be a star than either Howes or AMW who I both believe will make it one at HB and other at HFF.

Agreed but Clarry if fit and back to near best will be 85/90% on ground. What a strength our on ball brigade should be when you add Trac JV Riv and Kossie with Sparrow and McVee plus Harvey and XL learning the ropes gradually in cameos. Ultimately itâs what they all do with the ball not just driving it Willy Billy into the forward zone.

Whatever heights of players are I think this team selected not for Round 1 but for the Prelim Final combines the old and new potential for a new game plan and embraces a style of play that will surprise the fans. Here it is: McVee May Lever Salem Petty Howes Langdon Windsor Lindsay Petracca JVR Pickett Langford Turner Fritsch Gawn Rivers Oliver iC Viney Jefferson Brown Sharp Sub McDonald Emerg. AMW Tolstrup Johnson Campbell Melksham Chandler Sorry no text please respond with comments getting ready for cricket.

Why not get off the fence ( couch really) and select your 23 or extra to get the response s of other D/Lers. You have attempted to give yourself an out but I am not buying it. Have an opinion and not be a wimp it doesnât befit a Demonlander. PS I will post my preferred opening team ( really the one I want to be playing the prelim final in 9 months.)

"We aren't great at any phase of the game"
Well how do you judge kicking then ? if a kick is disposed it is either good bad or in dispute. Stop trying to complicate footy by a one dimensional approach.

Tracc weds
Donât think there were dart belts in the days when thst model Mercedes was a feature on the road probably in Europe and Italy more likely. The Vespa has replaced cars in Rome itâs much easier to get a park. Sorry for some of this info it is probably not all that accurate but great to speculate. Trac did mention that he proposed about 2 years ago at Lake Como I think it was and referred to in Italy as âin the motherlandâ. Famous picture around that time in the news. I saw Lake Louise for the first time this year in July and any Caucasian white male would find it hard to resist a proposal at that beautiful location. ( not USA lad as they wouldnât recognise any location outside the good old USA) Its all before Brand Petracca this year all we need is about 25 team mates to come along 2021 style and scream photo at the top of Mt Everest may be possible with the Premiership Cup and our Flag featuring. We can only hope itâs nut too much to expect if a little Lady Luck goes our way. All the best to Trac and Bella may we have a few little Tracâs and Bellaâs for our 2040 teams please!! Hope all their wishes and dreams do come true.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 18th December 2024
I am sure if the times of their records were altered or reversed McHale may have got more recognition. But I have never heard anyone revere his playing career like RDB if in fact he played of which I am not sure if.

WERRIDEEâS Rolling Squads
I think you are underestimating the forwards improvement and the system this year and 3 talls plus Fritta and 2crumbers or smalls will be used from 7 options inc. Kossie, plus Trac. if that is not successful then Langford or Melsham will replace a tall. Johnson or Campbell will be added to our 23 if the weather is hot also.

Yes we are both Dees fans and I did attend RDBâs Memorial Service last year flying in and home from Brisbane on the one day. There is no one in the AFL that is greater than our RDB. He stands above in credibility performance and loyalty to a cause.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 18th December 2024
You probably didnât read the poster who indicated we were a poorly skilled team and then another said about being the last few years. I said â2021 was a shocker!â and then practice makes ( masks ) perfect. Yes typo but not hard to know what that statement is. then said not in practice in December perhaps ( maybe) in March but very likely in September. ie getting better all the time with constant practice. Since then I Have been bombarded by GW saying she had trouble in understanding this and 3165 introducing RDB and his amazing premiership record of 10 flags and was accused of probably thinking I was more clever than RDB. Would never ever think any footy person as clever as RDB as he was my childhood hero and wore his 31 jumper from 10 years old and judge him as our No 1 player with Robbie no2. Letâs be honest GW 3165 or myself would not be in the queue for cleverness and footy knowledge cf to the great RDB. Certainly not understanding the point I made shows a distinct lack of knowledge and understanding on this matter with your comments GW and 3165. FWIW letâs see how we improve in practice in March and as a team by September and Iâll bet you we will be much improved. End of matter as far as I am concerned and will try and check type in future. Go Dees
