  1. Water off a ducks back. Until we play them what he says or does is irrelevant.
  2. Nobody saw the Bulldogs or the Tigers winning a flag at the same time of year so I'm certainly not losing any sleep about anyone's predictions. We're in the process of building a squad that will consistently be in a premiership window as well as an off field operation that can finance it in a competitive market. The key I think is getting all of our current crop of players to understand and be able to execute their role until it becomes second nature. If we can fast track a couple of our younger talents before losing some of our older most experienced players to retirement then that might just be the sweet spot we need to have a tilt at a premiership.
  3. D24? That's Shamrock Rovers territory. Rathmines I remember well. My folks moved here from Fraserburgh in the NE of Scotland when I was younger but I've lived in a few countries over the years, only returning to Australia five years ago. Outside probably a forty mile radius of Glasgow and maybe a wee bit of Edinburgh nobody gives a monkeys about religion. I have family that support Aberdeen, Celtic, Hearts and even Morton. I often wonder what visiting team supporters on European nights think when they see our ones waving tricolours or union jacks and singing Fields of Athenry or God Save the Queen. It makes me feel sad.
  4. I worked at Trailfinders at the bottom of Dawson Street and lived on Leeson Park in Ranelagh. Next door to the sister of Enda Kenny, the former Taoiseach. The ex girlfriend worked at Aware (depression support) on Lower Leeson Street. it was at the height of the Celtic Tiger. Happy times. Just for the record, I might be a bluenose but I'm definitely NOT a unionist!
  5. Rounds 2 and 3 should be be played in front of crowds that make up no more than 30% of the ground’s capacity to prevent close contact.
  6. Surely the only people entering the GWS training facility would be lost and asking for directions?
  7. I hear ya. As a Rangers supporter I lived and worked in Dublin for five years so can relate to your experience embedded behind enemy lines so to speak.
  8. Oh dear. And we were getting along so well Pennant St. Will make for an interesting discussion next time your at The Rose ?
  9. Has Peter Bell furiously denied this yet ?
  10. I've dubbed them the Water Closet (WC) Eagles.
  11. The fact that two of those anagrams are based where you currently live probably doesn't help matters.
  12. Well, as long as it's a healthy hatred John. I'd hate to see it shorten your lifespan too ?
  13. I tend to dislike the WA and SA sides more than the others because there's nothing original about booing anything and everything for two and a half hours week after week. Carrying this anti Victorian angst around all the time is only going to shorten their lifespan at the end of the day. I'm torn a little by Greater Western Sydney for having cool original colours but a ridiculous name. Some others just irritate me because no matter how well we're travelling we always seem to lose against them (St K & North) whilst Collingwood requires no explanation at all.
  14. I don't know about anyone else but the only thing that jarred a little with me was the fact that it was conducted by Damien Barrett. Not that there was anything wrong with his questions but considering the subject matter I think the girls from On The Mark on Fox for example could have mined a lot more from Goody's answers. Barrett's response to almost every reply was 'yep'. He should stick to what he's best at. Muckraking and innuendo.
  15. A case of The Cure being worse than the disease?
  16. I wouldn't have a scooby Demonstone. Outback rhyming slang?
  17. Melbourne - We don't have to touch the nurry as much. There's our 2020 slogan right there.
  18. I honestly think we've started to regress as a race Demonstone. This outbreak of idiocy is spreading far quicker than any virus.
  19. For what it's worth someone I know has just flown into Norway from England to do some cross country skiing. The small village she's staying in has 5 people with Covid-19 and another 15 people in quarantine. She got talking to someone who's relative is one of the five with the virus but who shows none of the obvious symptoms of it. The reality is that we're probably now beyond containment so anyone with a low immune system or who is elderly should probably try and adjust their lifestyles until a vaccine has passed all clinical trials and is on the market. Everyone else needs to stop losing their [censored] over this.
  20. Bunnings are now running out of 240 grade sandpaper. This is starting to get out of hand. By the weekend I’m going to have to decide between taking a dump and stripping back an old work bench I picked up on gumtree.
  21. Yeah. A little more refined these days but still a good venue when we play interstate. I heard that the guy who own the place is a Crows fan but there’s usually a good turnout of Dees when we play. There’s a good chance I’ll be booking a table for the WC game.
  22. Hi Pennant St. Quite possibly although if it was a few years ago there may have been others If you were there on a game day and they played the song afterwards then it definitely was. The fact we were 37 second from hearing the Gold Coast song last year still makes me shudder.
  23. The Rose in Napier St, Fitzroy is pretty good. The food and beer choices aren't bad and it's not overrun with nuffies on game days.
  24. One unintended consequence of Covid-19 is that it might free up some space on the MCC waiting list.Silver linings folks.
