  1. Looking for that sweet spot where Carlton win just enough games to retain David Teague.
  2. See the bombers fly.....oh.
  3. Chunk has played well today. Should hold his spot on the pine next week.
  4. Right back at ya Rusty ?
  5. Essendon's frustrations on the night may well be misplaced but geez I hope they take them out on the cats next Friday.
  6. Morning fellow DL's. I have to say I'm a lot more relaxed now that I was for most of last night. I'm looking forward to watching the replay later today as it's a lot harder to see what's going on from ground level at the Ponsford end of the ground. From what I've read on the thread this morning the main topic of discussion centres around the pros and cons of bringing Ben Brown back into the fold, fitness and form not withstanding of course. The advantage of having the extra almost 'stay at home' type forward taking up more of the opposition's defensive resources were evident last night. Historically he's also been a very accurate and reliable kick for goal which we're crying out for. I can equally understand though those that are worried about the lack of pressure and defensive accountability this might come with when trying to keep the ball locked into our forward fifty to help chew up the clock at crucial times, also very evident last night. This is why I'll be looking out for both if the game is televised on CH7 today. A couple of sausage rolls combined with a good defensive effort could be enough to see the big curly haired fella line up between the sticks at the 'G next weekend.
  7. Easing into this one with coffee and some King Creosote on spotify. Maybe a few clicks on the bike to follow if the sun stays out and the wind keeps away. Really looking forward to being at the 'G again tonight and I don't think our boys will disappoint. As for the margin I don't really care. Let's all just enjoy the experience and bag the 4 points.
  8. Tigers rolling the clock back to the late 1980's is a lovely sight. More please.
  9. M34 on an aisle right behind the left goalpost. Bring on Saturday night!
  10. I've been in favour of keeping as much distance between ourselves and the interstate sides in order to avoid an interstate final but tonight I wouldn't mind seeing Brisbane win just for the hell of it. It might seem unlikely but who's to say another mini covid outbreak in the metropolitan area won't see a final where Geelong are the higher placed team being moved down the highway to get a near capacity crowd.
  11. As there seems to be no mention of it anywhere would it be reasonable to assume that Essendon members are not restricted to the same % amount placed on MCC & AFL members? If they aren't then that would mean they have first access to all of the remaining seats up for grabs until the 25,000 figure is reached. In which case the rest of us are probably screwed.
  12. 12 noon Friday apparently for MFC members. Looks like we'll be left with the dregs after MCC, AFL & Essendon members.
  13. Ah! Our home game is it BB? In which case I'm crossing my fingers I'll get tickets for the G as Casey is way too far out of my way.
  14. I would find this easier to accept if we were the home side. As things stand as a tridents member my chances of getting tickets will be slim to none. To get my footy fix this week I might have to trek out to Windy Hill and see how Weids fares.
  15. Not AFL related but if you think our leaders have messed things up then have a look at this clown and his government.
  16. Sounds like a definite maybe then.
  17. Hi TC. It was a remark I made about a Jack Viney instagram pic. I wasn't anywhere near Cranbourne today. Or any egg & bacon rolls sadly.
  18. Rival Clubs Circling Weideman. Rival clubs cleared for landing. ✈️
  19. Cranbourne never looked so good.
  20. I think the Suns burnt up all their hydrogen and collapsed under their own weight a few years ago but the light just hasn't reached us yet.
  21. Had my first AZ shot a few weeks ago. The following day every bone in my body ached and I was super lethargic ( I think this is just my immune system kicking in against the vaccine so a good thing? ). Couldn't get off the sofa the entire day. The next day I was back to normal and at the G for the Carlton game. I have no issues about getting the second jab. Get the jab but not the day before the Dees play.
  22. It might be time to change the title of this thread to Rival Clubs Running Rings around Weideman.
  23. Hi Pates. The thing with Kardinia Park is that demand outstrips supply down there so they are guaranteed 40,000 full season ticket holders with reserved seats year after year. As a product it also helps that they pretty much know what they're going to get for their money. Anyone that doesn't renew falls to the back of the waiting list. The money is already banked whether the ground is empty or full on any given weekend. We however play in a cavernous coliseum that's double the size of our membership who are offered the footballing equivalent of a mystery flight every week.
  24. I'm clearly no expert but on the subject of Geelong making the decision to play without fans next week virtually the entire ground is made up of paid up members with reserved seats so having bums on them would make no difference in a financial sense. Of course they would lose out on things like catering and corporate activities planned for the game but that could be offset by additional advertising draped over those empty seats for prime time Friday night tv exposure.
  25. Gee whizz. We were poor all over the ground today. Dogga was great and Max lifted after half time but that was it. A shop store mannequin would be more value than Sam Weideman right now but I guess we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that he did have a great game in a final three years ago. I'd like to think that immersing myself in the European Championships for the next couple of weeks will be the distraction I need to get over this game but I'll be supporting Scotland so no reprieve there.
