  1. https://www.mcc.org.au/_/media/files/mcc/my-mcc-membership/2022-afl-football-guide-for-mcc-members.pdf?la=en It's category 2, not fully ticketed BUT you can reserve your seat now, So it's semi ticketed. For these matches, seats will be made available to reserve on demand on a best available basis across all levels of the Member's Reserve. All remaining unallocated seats within the Reserve will be available for walk-upon match day for members by scanning their membership card upon entry and for guests with general admission visitor tickets Please note whilst a match may be categorised as allowing walk-up access, reserved seats may sell out. As such walk-up access is subject to availability. For such matches, reserved seats on each level will be released on demand on a best available basis.'
  2. Let's see how good our conditioning is post-Burgo then
  3. Good news, still remember bringing a pal to a Melbourne game last year who hadn't watched much footy in a few years - In the first quarter he said Spargo looked too small/slow, by the end of the game he saw the light.
  4. Didn't let us kick ahead, some good individual performances. Wonder how long they'll be able to maintain this effort this year. Went up for this game, was surprised how many Dees fans there were at the game, nice little stadium too, was worried it was going to rain so got tickets near the back, false alarm but still good view.
  5. Googled things to do in crap weather and was sad to see this place had stopped. Australia's shame

River end, is that a GA area?

Anyone know the best area to sit at Metricon? Or alternatively is there a specific area that Queensland demon members may sit etc.
  8. OUT: Me attending a game at the MCG IN: Me attending a game on the Gold Coast
  9. He'll be ok in the interim until the others are back, new recruits and a more defined structure with leadership will help this time.
  10. Probably did a voice recording as he didn't want someone to screenshot his message, but you can screen record anything on an iphone either way - easy to capture -
  11. I can understand why that one was given from a rules perspective (given Smith had no eyes on the ball ) - very unlucky for Smith but think Weightman did initiate some minimum contact to get the free - simultaneously milked and conned the umpire. Found it funny Clarry/Gawn responsible for 13 of the 30 frees.
  12. Speaking of Newcastle and outbursts against Journos, reminded me of when Joe Kinnear (then interim manager) had a go at a Simon Bird (a journalist) and opens his press conference with... JK: Which one of you Simon Bird? SB: Me? JK: You're a c*** (rhymes with punt) He then proceeds to have a go at another Journo and just swears at everyone; full transcript below https://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/oct/03/newcastleunited.premierleague
  13. In '96 I was turned 12, so there would have been some sadness without being fully aware of the ramifications but would continued to follow. But as Jack and Todd discussed, going through the struggle made the grand prize more rewarding.
  14. Oh understand the facilities are good at the above, just found it funny years later in 2022 we're still trying to source a training base/facility. That being said if we did merge, would the club be training at Dingley, Glenferrie Rd or have jumped in before Collingwood to secure whatever its called now.
  15. The first 1/3rd of the doco depressing for obvious reasons but it set the scene. Still hard to believe that we won a grand final and, in that manner, too. Will watch this again, but might skip the sad stuff aha. One part did make me laugh tho was the vision Merger meeting with Brian Dixon saying they didn’t want to go to inferior Glenferrie Road facilities and want to have the best facilities in the league. Hopefully we get there soon!
  16. Re: Delay penalties - there was one incident where Carlton got a free kick and Newman was feigning being held to try get the 50. I understand the need to crack down on delay tactics (see Petty vs West Coast) but feel some team may lose a game this season after some deceitful treachery. Hopefully the umpires can see through these actions.
  17. My main thoughts Some sloppy errors but not the end of the world, not like they can take the AFLX trophy of us. At one stage of the game I wasn't sure what would be higher - the amount of goals we scored or the amount of 50s we conceded. I'm all for clamping down against referee abuse, but some of those were extremely soft. Our defence in 2021 had a structured system and knowing each others game and we had 5 (flag winning) players out, some individual performances not ideal but wouldn't read too much into that Missed the beautiful kicking of Rivers/Salem Need Gus back on the wing Fritta will score even more goals this year.
  18. Thanks for the PDF, a mini game and souvenir in one

Didn't see the email about tickets and only realised cos of this thread . still managed to get one in my preferred area in the MCC. Had to download the 2022 Footy MCC Guide to clarify a few things, how's the superstar on the front cover of this one https://www.mcc.org.au/_/media/files/mcc/my-mcc-membership/2022-afl-football-guide-for-mcc-members.pdf?la=en
  22. Unlucky for the Suns, will he ever play for them again?
  23. I don't like the Zurich colour change, but it is what it is. Never liked the placement either, but guess our design makes it difficult. But they pay us, so thanks to them

I know tough draws happen when you are at the pointy end, but that run of consecutive away games a little bit baffling.

Pretty selfish lad to be honest, some people aren't good at 1 sport and he's good at 3.
