  1. Misses the easy ones. (Bruce) Can take a mark, and is strong in the contest.
  2. I thought Weid attacked the game and opposition players with more gusto when he had some time down back. In the Casey games, his ruck work was good. Not so much in reading the play, as he was always there about, but his timing (judging were the ball drop is) and double grabs were his weakness. Given plenty of opportunities in the MFC team, but couldn't grasp, because of inconsistency. I think he will do well changing teams and having a clean slate.
  3. Fix up the medi-sub rule. Allow the medi-sub to voluntarily come on, ten minutes into the third quarter. By then a concussion ruling won't disadvantage a team too much.
  4. I thought the draft and the order, was about equalising the talent across the competition. I want closer games not blow outs. Destination clubs are effecting the balance. Management, of the club lists and player renumeration need to be done better, so as to get fair compensation and teams high on the ladder shouldn't get a leg up. The clubs down the ladder may stay there for several season if the AFL allows the "poaching" of picks and players. Geelong have to be happy, as are us. North, Gold coast, wow!
  5. Please, no more interstate drafts unless we get a good indication that they will be one club players. To some extent I am happy he has gone. I thought we could tell mid season that he had decided to go, as his form dropped (started getting the fumbles) and our losing started to happen, either, disruption or was an integral cog, I think it was disruption. Grundy will be a like for like replacement. So long as we give up to Collingwood as well. I thought we folded our hand, and sent a message to other teams that we are soft dealers.
  6. I've regularly thought Taylor would potentially be best suited out of all the women, to play in a mens side. I know it won't happen and chances are she'd get flattened, though I feel she would beat some of the men if playing in a male under 21's team.
  7. You can see the "stables", the Manor, I am only able to guess. Are you running sheep Bitter?
  8. First quarter we were nearly there, in the second our pressure broke them. Dogs have had very little space, and the game has been played in our forward half. The backline, repelling most of their attacks and intercepting everything. Paxman, Taylor, Hanks, West, Purcell, Hore, Chaplin, Goldy, the main contributors. Daisy doing the important little things. Mithin in the midfield has been holding Blackman with the help of West. WCW was on the telly in one of the spectator shots.
  9. Redleg tells me we don't get any compo from an non-contracted player. Though still sends a message of, commitment to us.
  10. Nothing, wow. What a risk to take interstates, or those with emotional ties to other clubs. What use is us doing any development, only for them to leave as free agency. Are you sure the AFL don't offer any compo as free agents in the draft?
  11. Send him to draft, stop making it easy for these young players to leave. We give them the basics and have them as development that they take, and run home if their "local" team pays enough, otherwise back to draft and end up anywhere. I think the AFL has to offer more compo so as to facilitate these freedom of movement and employment contracts. So an original pick 3, plus the development goes for less.
  12. He could end up at Essendon, North, GWS, lol. Especially if WC give away there 2 Yes, get a one year contract and play for more finals action. We are in the "sweet" spot with our club
  13. Sorry, I thought we had him for another year. So, given that, the other teams make offers for him and we accept, or he goes free agency in the draft and the AFL give us some compensation.
  14. Where do I do this? Does it say we have to get the trade done, after a player gives a request? Why can't we just keep him?
  15. I don't mind if we keep Jackson for another year and he becomes the free agent, if we don't get what we want for him. We have his contract and if they want it then they should fork up. Play him on the wing, and encourage him to sign with us, saying Freo or WC don't value him and will stuff him around. Gives him another year to get over his home sickness. Play hard ball MFC.
  16. Just noticed Adelaide hoping for a change of training facilities, $75 million. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-08-24/adelaide-crows-names-thebarton-oval-as-new-home-ground/101366038 Feeling jealous
  17. It also means we are an easy team to deal with. Can been seen two ways. If close to what is the going rate for what we want or give, then we sign, or a teams can play hard against us and we will fold. Hope it works as the former, where others don't see us as time and effort wasters, and we all exit happy, with win win. Many other teams, stuff up the dominoes falling well. Deal with the MFC and everyone's dreams can come true.
  18. I thought Zanker did a nice shepard in the last to make room for one of our players, perhaps Purcell, to kick a goal. I get what you mean though. If Taylor is her mentor, she might get there. Our talls are good, though Gillard had a bad day and must give the opposition headaches.
  19. I thought she played her role well. She also got a couple of goals and assisted with a few. Marks in the 50 arc are important. She has not been great in games this season, I thought it was a better one for her and hoping she can build on it. As for below her knees work, I thought even though fumbley, she kept the ball infront and moving.
  20. Good coaching move putting, Goldy and Heath in the centre to stop Freo's clearances in the last quarter. Generally good players across the board, West, Hore and Purcell when it was needed, Gay down back, Hanks and Mithen all match, Taylor and Zanker swapping roles with each other makes for difficult match ups. Some smart players on our team, a few that are developing, and some that are "nearly". Keep building Dees.
  21. Getting the ball into the forward line quickly helps with scoring opportunities. Some of our defence is a little loose. A few to many handballs to players under pressure.
  22. Our field kicking has been good, love that they take it on by running the ball through the corridors. Good coaching and application. Hanks, Paxman and Zanker doing well.
  23. A footy club is a microcosm of society, the same analogy used when footballers stray, can be pointed at the management. We often have a management style that is a reflection of the 1950s. When will these behemoths, dinosaur's step aside and let those who adjust to the modern norms of behaviour be the guides. Leaders need to reflect the best of us, and not fight to maintain a status quo that is amiable to the powers that be, ambivalent to the middle and downright obtuse to the lower. Get those types out of the management structure. We need people who change the institutions proactively and not those who have to be dragged to even accept the times are a changing. I don’t think it is about a woke society, or ethic/morality training, but more about having diversity and selecting people with merit and broad life experiences to have a voice, in decision and supportive roles. Very much a time to move on from the Old Boys club style of management. Passing psychological and personality assessments could be the way. Could use affirmative employment methods to get more, females, multicultural participants, and those from varying social status, to create appropriate voices and guidance in our institutions. Out with nepotism, group think, and born to rule, time for the glass ceiling to disappear completely.
  24. Berry was always going to get off, especially when next game is a final. Need something like, when he plays us next suspension. He will be our target along with Zorko and McCarthy. It will be a grudge match when we meet them again.
