I think that from our current position, if (when) we do make the finals, it will mean that we are firing at the right end of the season - and therefore anything is possible. I, for one, certainly hope we do make the finals.

For once we have a debutant that has had a great apprenticeship in the VFL (60 odd games). It’s a pity our other debutantes haven’t had such a good grounding. I wish him every success on Saturday.

Surely spending 4 quarters back at Casey was all that Oscar and Wags needed to develop their skills and regain their confidence. Obviously an easy selection decision.

I'm honoured that you even bother to read the ramblings of such a lowly supporter. I can only aspire to be more knowledgeable like you one day.

There seemed to be an awful lot of pack marks in that package. And couldn't he roost the ball! Please show this to the Weid on a daily basis.

At the risk of sounding Werridee'ish, I'd like to propose a team for this coming week, and my reasoning for it: I believe our problems are fixable with the talent we currently have available, and can be turned around in a relatively short period of time, with the right approach - and a few tweaks. In short my premise is that our main problem is with our mids, and their poor delivery into our forward 50. We have no problem with getting the ball into our 50 - enough times to win a game if we convert - its just that our delivery is so bad, our forwards do not stand a chance in hell - with the obvious outcome being turning the ball over and speedy delivery of the ball to the other end of the ground. One solution, i feel, is to place our best ball users into the middle. I also feel Jones best position now is to replace Nev in the back pocket. And a suggestion by another poster of placing Petracca onto a back flank to bring him into the game more, I also like. Brayshaw is a great ball gatherer, and around goals his kicking is far better than his sub standard field kicking. So i like him on a forward flank - taking Traccs position. For what it is worth, here is my team (assuming current injury status): Jones, Frost, Hore Petracca, Hibbert, Lewis Fritsch, Melksham, Salem Hunt, Weideman, Brayshaw Garlett, TMac, T Smith Gawn, Oliver, Harmes I/C Stretch, Keilty, Lockhart and Sparrow.

I think you will find that if we fix our disposal entering the forward 50, then our forwards will improve no end. Fix one, you fix the other.

I watched the swans game last night and was very impressed with their Jordan Dawson. Its the first time i have him and I think he shows great potential on last nights effort. I've discovered he's from SA, but does anyone know his contract status? Again, based on last nights showing, could be a great long term pick up.

Disagree totally. Our forwards are not the major problem - its the delivery from our mids into the forward line that is the disgrace.The best key forwards in the league wouldn't get a kick with the way we deliver the pill.

You would think someone had died. anyway, to try and inflict a bit of positivity, I’m willing to bet that we make the finals, because I still have (a little) faith in our team. If anyone wants to make a bet with me here are my conditions: - all money won goes to Demonland to help support this site - my stake will be a dollar a bet with a limit of 100 bets (ie $100) If100 bets are taken, and I lose, I’ll donate $100 to Demonland. - if you take the bet, you have to nominate the odds you’ll give me but must be at least 10:1. Therefore if you nominate 10:1 and I win, you donate $10 to Demonland. Give the negativity here, I’m expecting way better odds than 10:1. - all bets must be in place before the next round. Go Dees!
