  1. There might be kicking improvements and strategy tweaks, but I see the greatest improvement overall resulting from the sheer competition for and desire to obtain senior spots next year. There is no way players like Hunt, Tomlinson, Weideman, Jordon and Smith will not do all and more to get back in that side. And no premiership player will want to lose his spot for Dunstan. Should be a fun pre-season!

Haha This topic seems to have gone on longer than "Neighbours". I've even forgotten what happens when (if) you get to the end of the selection stage.

Haha It never hurts to broaden your horizons Jaded No More. After landing this years cup, and while awaiting the landing of next years cup, a little dabble on the aptly named Melbourne Cup doesn't hurt. And backing the winner and the trifecta today only reinforced that view.
  4. I know, Allus, it’s terrifying. My grandson has now gone 3 weeks without ever seeing a premiership.i worry about his mental development and really hope he doesn’t grow up as traumatised as most of us on here.
  5. So sorry to hear of your plight Deeoldfart. As far as I am concerned you are not derailing this thread - we are both making community announcements.
  6. Thanks ET. Both are doing good. Membership will be a Christmas present, definitely.
  7. Winning the premiership last Saturday was a magnificent feeling - which will last me a lifetime.. However, just when I thought things couldn't get any better, our daughter today has had a baby boy, giving us our first grandchild. The only downside is that due to Covid restrictions, we cannot yet meet this future Demon mid. (but may be able to come Monday, as some of our restrictions are about to be lifted). Life really is good
  8. Just wanted to make mention of a team - first act that I have only just noticed on a replay. As we know, Kossie hardly touched the ball all game, but he did have a few great defensive moments. The one I want to highlight involves the Petracca dribbling goal, where Kossie does a powerful front on shepherd/bump on Dunkley to prevent him from possibly tackling Petracca. Dunkley ends up on his back and Petracca gets the 6 points. Just luv this kid.
  9. Part of the family? He's the bloody godfather!
  10. There certainly is a lot of luv being spread on here tonight. I just went to bed to try and spread a bit more love, but apparently I smell like a brewery, and I have ignored her to the last 26 weeks. So here i am back amongst those who know how to appreciate and celebrate a win for the ages. .
  11. Hahaha Pickled Fence!!! Luv it
  12. During the first and second quarters, I really wanted someone to clean up Libba - and shut that gob of his. But I don't think anyone of our team could have hurt him more than the our performance in the last 2 quarters. Hope that really hurt Libba.
  13. If you are not happy now Old Dee, you’ll never be. Please enjoy

Haha is he going to Carlton because we wouldn’t trade Jordon and Sparrow for him?
  15. Do it for me!! (and by me, of course i mean all us supporters)
  16. First bounce will be (not May be) in the middle.
  17. isn't it a [censored] when you have to explain your joke.

If that's the case, then the Cerra deal, if its to be done, will be with current and future picks, because I'm positive the Club would not trade out Sparrow and Jordon. If it did, then Club culture would be out the door, and greed will have replaced it. And that is not how I see our Club proceeding. But just my thoughts
  19. Neil Crompton replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry daz, but there is no way I'd be trading out Sparrow and Jordon. They have been great role players for us this year, and both show greater potential coming. Why risk this? If Cerra were to nominate us, I'd see the Club using players like Baker, Bedford, Lockhart and Chandler as more likely trade offerings, rather than Sparrow and Jordon. (although I'd hate to see any of them go).
  20. Not even an honourable mention?........
  21. Whatever the result next Saturday, this football team we support has brought me more joy this year than any other year that I have supported them, including’64. The players , coaches and support staff have my greatest admiration and thanks for what they have achieved to date, for themselves, the Club and for us loyal supporters. That sentiment will not be diminished if the worst were to happen on Saturday night. I would also like to state that while I’d love to be able to see it live in person, that fact that I can’t will not diminish the shear joy and ecstasy I will feel if we win. It’s our time, I believe.
  22. Straight and to point as always D.
  23. Haha, was that deliberate?
