  1. Viney fantastic, but unbelievably hasn’t laid one tackle
  2. luv the fact that our Demonland ladies are such badarses.
  3. If Hunt is fit, then I hope he gets the nod over Hibbert. At least he was in form before he got injured. Hibbert on the other hand has been dropped twice(?) this year because his form was poor. And with no VFL to get back to form, why would you choose Hibbert if you had the choice? Surely form wins over experience, or N Jones and N Jetta would be picked.
  4. I need help please. How do I import an MP3 file from Dropbox? I can play it fine from Dropbox, but when I load it here it doesn’t seem to want to play.
  5. For Father’s Day, my son sent me an early mix of a song his band were recording just before lockdown. Although not the intent, the lyrics seemed to resonate with the current plight of being a Dee’s supporter. (aw, who am I kidding. It’s just a shameless plug for his band!) Anyway, this is what I’m currently listening to. 1386030045_holdingoutmyhand.mp3
  6. Sorry if I missed it, but is there a reason players have not already been vaccinated? With all of the interstate travel, I would have thought it would have been a requirement.
  7. Thanks LDVC, I re- read it myself in that light and concede it could be read that way. So I have altered my post and apologised to titan for that specific comment.
  8. Seriously? Your last sentence was definitely not a double negative. If you made a mistake then own it, but don’t claim something for what it certainly wasn’t. POST NOTE - I’ll retract this statement titan, as I may have misread it. Apologies. Also, if you are going to quote me, please do so accurately. Don’t use words that might suit your narrative in place of what I actually said Finally I have never once in these posts praised Smiths’ game, nor can I remember anyone else doing so. So don’t say I have. That is just your obvious biases against Smith showing through again. Its ok to not like a player titan, but don’t make [censored] up Personally, I think he should be dropped this week for Hunt, but, as I said in my original post, I trust in Goody to make the right calls.
  9. You’ve got me confused titan. Your last sentence clearly seems to back up my main comment, yet your first two sentences seem to imply a contradiction of that. Perhaps you could explain? I certainly don’t have any double standards towards Smith. I admitted in my post that I have no idea as to whether he will or won’t make it as a good player. I also said that I trust Goody’s selection reasoning. So where is this so called double standard? I also certainly never said or implied that Cameron always “tears up everyone he plays on”, I simply said that based on his form in our game, I doubted there was anyone on our list who would have kept him quiet - which you agreed with. Perhaps you might look at your own biases titan, before questioning mine.
  10. What gets me is the arrogance of Green, playing a game of chicken with a stationary umpire, and believing he has the right of way. There is definitely intentional disrespect of the ump - whether there was body contact or not - and that deserves more than a fine.
  11. To those who are taking pot-shots at Joel Smith tonight, perhaps they could honestly nominate one fit MFC player who would have the speed and agility to have been able to curb Cameron tonight. Cameron had a good night - Joel didn’t have a great one, but he did win some one on one contests with Cameron that no one in our team would have. I have no idea if Smith will ever develop into a good footballer, but I do trust that if Goody has selected him in front of Hibbert, 3 weeks in a row, its for a very good reason.
  12. When Tomlinson is fit again, some posters have stated that they’d like Petty to take on the CHF role, assuming that Tomo will take his CHB role. I think that when Tomo is fit, Tomo is the one that had better find another role to play, because the way Petty has developed, there is no way I’d consider moving him from CHB.
  13. Thanks Luci - wish I had this info before I placed money on Trac!
  14. can't fault your optimism at least.
  15. Nev, do you really think he'd be dumb enough to do that when we have finals still to play? After maybe, but surely not before.
  16. Thanks Luci. I think your analysis will prove to be pretty accurate. Would like to see a similar thing done for Trac, if you could please.
  17. As a youngster in '64, my younger brother and I barracked for the Dees. Just down the road we had close friends (brothers the same age as us) who also supported Melbourne. Thinking back, I cannot remember why we all supported the D's. It was strange because their father had played full forward for St Kilda, and our father had played wing for the Swans. My friends mother had grand final tickets and asked if we wanted to go with them. Of course we did. On the way to the 'G driving down High Street Prahran, not long before Punt Road, we developed a flat tyre. We stopped in what seemed like the middle of the road (guess we were soon to turn right at Punt Road) in very heavy traffic, which were probably all heading to the G as well. As we sat there not knowing what to do - but sadly thinking we were going to miss the GF - the traffic, which included a tram, piled up behind us, and none of them appeared sympathetic with our plight, nor in a happy frame of mind. In fact I think the only thing we all had in common was that we thought we were all going to miss the Granny. Ultimately a kind policeman came along and put us all out of our misery by changing the tyre for us. I've never seen so many happy faces in my life as our car was on the move again - that is, until about 3 hours later. Again it's funny that I can remember details about a flat tyre, but can remember so little about the game itself - the Gabelich run and goal, and the winning Crompton goal are about all I can still see - and of course the sea of joy among the red and blue at the conclusion.
  18. Never come across so many woodies on the morning after. Must have been some night
  19. Ha, you were super critical of everyone picket! Particularly Max. Hope you are feeling better about our team this morning.
  20. I’ve only ever seen one better win by Melbourne than this win tonight. That was the last game in ‘64.
  21. What do you think of Maxy now picket fence?
  22. no question, but that is still not 2 or 3 goals a game as was being requested by dees189227. There are not too many forwards averaging 2-3 goals a game, let alone mids.
  23. Sorry, but what other mids kick 2 or 3 goals a game?
  24. I wonder how much the success of a player like Luke Jackson has inspired the apparent interest in Mac Andrew?
