  1. I heard he doesn’t drink or smoke - so that might change your payment method. He also has a thyroid issue causing the weight issue he is carrying.
  2. This thread is giving me nightmares - can we please close it asap?!!
  3. Daz, if he wasn’t offered a contract, why then was he picked ahead of Bowey for our last final? Not saying it’s not true, but just doesn’t make sense to me.
  4. Commiserations LT, I know exactly how you are feeling. Our beautiful 13 year old border collie had to be put to sleep on Wednesday night.

Well said SWYL, and Can I add that not every player wants to come to the MFC

I agree if that is the case WCW. But I just find it hard to believe that a player would be broadsided in an exit meeting. As in any workplace, players would have goals and KPI’s to be achieved during the year. A player should know if they are not shaping up.
  7. Now that he has learnt how to defend, I’d love to see him combine those defensive skills with his natural run-and- attacking attributes for us on the wing. I think he was too immature the last time he was tried in that role. But now, I think he’d excel. He’s a keeper for mine, in the right role.
  8. Probably because the Trade Whisperer, ET, raised it. So it must be a done deal.

If deG leaves the Pies, would that change their thinking re Grundy? It would certainly put a spanner in our bargaining power if the Pies are now not having to fork out $3.5m for deG.
  10. Please don’t rooyen for all of us the vibe around this kid JG. Let us have 6 months of dreaming of what could be. Your point is noted however, and one of us will refer to it next season for sure. I’m of the thinking that he is Ox like, rather than Balta, and really hope I’m the one that’s right.

I would have thought the Pies choke in 1970 grand final - where they were 7 goals down at half time (I think) against Carlton - would be worse. Let’s hope history repeats.

Deep down I think we know the cats will win, and it’s probably destined for Danger to win Norm. (Spit) But I’m hoping for a Swans win, and for Buddy to kick 7 and win the Norm. But I will not watch one second of a Papley celebration.
  13. Tom Browne obviously hasn’t read DL or he would be running with the Sheedy / Hird conspiracy theory first raised here (and I think later deleted by the mods), instead of his Yse story.

Grand Final day is always treated as special by me, no matter who is playing. It happens to be the anniversary of the day I first met my future wife. So definitely not feeling conflicted.
  15. FFS, how long do you need to “understand and learn”?

We lost our finals because we were not good enough, not because we had “11 injured players”. Nobody would have played if they were not cleared to play.
  17. I agree re Chocco. I wrote the following not long after he arrived: The Choco Appreciation Thread Neil Crompton replied to raDeelaide's topic in Melbourne Demons Tony, I think Mark is the type of bloke that inspires initially but after a time he may tend to irritate - particularly the other coaches. I think he has a shelf life of about 3 years.
  18. Other than just being nasty, what was your point of making that comment? If Joel does not make it, so what, lots don’t. No need for this sort of derision. Joel doesn’t deserve it. None of our players do.
  19. Gil has the opportunity to do something right before he leaves.
  20. Clarkson and Fagan likely to be stood down from their roles until enquiry completed.
  21. This will be huge. If true, I would be tearing up Clarkson’s contract at North. Again, if true, we will see if the AFL has the balls to do what needs to be done.
  22. Welcome back to the pond.

So Gus still has Brownlow bragging rights over Andrew.
  24. It’s typical that the only team with lower total points value (of picks) than us is the team we will be dealing with over Jackson.
