  1. Haha no one takes drummers seriously anyway.
  2. Interesting point Tim. Lever had approx 69% of his total marks and 63% of his disposals after Tommo went off (with Smith going back to replace Tommo). Could this simply imply that we need 3 talls down back, with the third tall not necessarily Tommo? Could be Smith, could be Disco Turner? Disco had a very good game at Casey by all accounts - is he worth a try? ('cause Tommo did look pretty slow on a few occasions). I also prefer Smith playing forward.
  3. Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) Just viewed the training photos. What stood out to me was how much Trent Rivers has filled out since last year. Of all our recruits selected in the past two drafts, I believe he will end up proving to be our most important selection of them all. I don’t want to brag, but I just found this old post of mine from Feb ‘21.
  4. No we really don’t. We could use Joel Smith as the second tall with JVR and give him a good go at it. Of the 4 you mention, at least Joel can take a contested mark, he can lead and he is better below his knees than those 4. He’s trained all year as a forward - and yet he has played mainly in defence when he has come on - let’s give him a go. Why train him as a forward if we do not use him there? We certainly have nothing to lose, and a lot to gain IMO.
  5. Great post Sam. Both defenses were superb. You are the 4th or 5th poster to say that without our defensive efforts, Carlton should have been 5-8 goals up at quarter time. Which begs the question, why does Joel Smith cop such BS on here? He was part of that brilliant defensive effort. His spoiling and tackling were very good. Yet he cops the "should never play back again", or "should be the permanent sub". The poor bloke has been training as a forward all year and yet gets placed down back. We are lucky to have someone with his versatility. Personally, i would prefer him as a forward, but really happy for him to be getting game time, in any role, after so many horrid injuries throughout his career. He is the ultimate team player as he'll take on any role he is given.
  6. For a moment I thought you must be a class athlete. Second paragraph soon told me differently. Not to dismiss your horrid injury. Hope all is operating as it should now.
  7. Fried?
  8. Not good news, but it gives someone else a opportunity to shine. Let's hope so anyway.
  9. I think our goalkicking in the last could qualify as embarrassing, JadedNM.
  10. …..only so much better
  11. Red, I believe Joeboy was only joking, right?
  12. I think he only has a hand on one thing.
  13. Petty to CHB, Tommo to FB and May to CHF/FF
  14. I think it’s little wonder that the “soccer” coaches are called managers, not coaches. Because that’s what they do - manage. From what I can gather, AFL coaches are really not coaches as they were in say the Norm Smith era, they are now managers. They have to manage the gaggle of assistant coaches (who really do the direct coaching of the players), the support staff as well as the players. And in our case, we have someone (Richo) overseeing Goody and the whole process. (Smithy would have loved that!). The point I’m leading to is that the coach doesn’t win a club a premiership,, he is simply one (important) cog helping to manage the collective parts making up the whole. Therefore to say that one modern era coach is better than another because they win a premiership is, I believe, no longer an accurate statement. What you can say is that in 2021, the MFC was the best Club as a whole, not that Goody necessarily was a better coach than Bevo.
  15. Speak for yourself!
  16. What happens to your system when Tasmania joins?
  17. haha if i drank that and i somehow managed to wake the next day - and knowing how i'd feel - i'd gladly walk to my coffin!
  18. Came on here to see if the facepalm posters to my 3/4 time post that "we could still win this game" had the courage to put their hand up - but sadly they haven't. But there is plenty of time yet ......
  19. English teachers and grammarians will say that "could care less" is wrong because it should mean the opposite of "couldn't care less." Logically, if you could care less, it means you do care some. But in informal speech people often use "could care less" to mean they don’t care at all. "Couldn’t care less" and "could care less" are both used to mean someone doesn’t care at all, but English teachers and grammarians will say that only "couldn't care less" is correct, so that is what you should use in formal or academic writing.
  20. Chocco said he thought it was the first time the crowd noise got us over the line.
  21. Oh yes we can you disbeliever
  22. We can still win this.
  23. Not sure I could move interstate and leave my 3 children behind.
  24. Winners, sorry if you didn’t realise I was having a joke. (My fault I guess). I luv WCW and would not deliberately offend her. Have a look at the so called derogatory comment I made to WCW. I said “haha they will never get you off the field”. WCW even offered a laughing emoji to my post. I have also used the word “deranged” in a number of posts to her. It has been used in jest on every occasion. I’m pretty sure she would have PM’d me if she found my use of that word offensive previously. I do like the fact that WCW is held in such high regard on this site that she has a white knight coming to her defence. I’m sure, if she sees this, that she would appreciate the comment you made.
