It comes down to duty of care mostly. Same way the AFL subsidised Ben Cousin's rehab (and offered the same support to James Hird). An employer has a certain amount of liability when it comes to things like this. And I don't think it's helpful speculating whether the victim and their family have been offered support (other than to project your obvious distaste for the AFL's current administration). I think you'll find it's quite the opposite because, again, the AFL has certain liability in these situations.

JKH and a rotation involving Lewis, Vince and or Petracca (If we get Hogan back) A lot of people need to get out of the pre-2013 Demons mentality. Yes, we are missing a few mids, but we have the depth to cover it these days. JKH will be hungry, and you could do a whole lot worse than those other 3 rotating through the middle. Hogan and Jeffy back will seal it for me - releasing Truck into the guts and Hunt back to half back. With Hogan presenting targets all the way up to the wing and Jeffy running in to space we should win easily. Don't lose sight of the fact we are a far better team across the board, even with injuries IMO.

Citing injuries before knowing who the in's are this week is misinformed at best

Care to elaborate on your brilliant summation?

I think we can all agree that we don't need people like this in our game, and I'm sure we are all hoping for the same outcome here - to never hear his name in footy again I suspect he's gone also. The AFL has invested way too much in the last 20 years to make this a family friendly game to not respond to this incident accordingly.

Can't like this enough. He is certainly a part of the fabric that makes up the heart and soul of this team

People like you are exhausting to be around

I've been a big fan of Frost this year - and I believe a true reflection of his progress will be determined tonight playing on Buddy. I'm backing him to get the job done and keep him quiet. We're far better clearance team, if our makeshift forward line can function again tonight I think we'll win, but it'll be close. Melbourne less than a goal

100% agree. We love him!

You could blindfold Mitch Hannan and put him in a mashing machine for 2 hours and he'd still step out and snap a goal. Kid has some serious goal awareness

A genuine role model. Not just in footy, but in life in general. Absolute champion

No thanks. Gussy has plenty left to show us.

I'm a graffiti artist myself, and I only do legal murals (these days haha). Hosier lane is a public space, and whether you like it or not, people have every right to go over each others work with whatever they like. It sucks, don't get me wrong, but them's the breaks with public spaces like this. Ask any graffiti writer, there is never an expectation that your work will remain up or untouched for any given period on a public wall. You finish, get your photo's, and expect it to be gone or destroyed the next day. Graffiti comes in many forms, and whilst the public may only appreciate it in forms like this, murals like this have been inspired over time by more basic forms of graffiti, such as tagging. If I lived in Melbourne I would go down there with paint and fix it myself. I'm hoping someone else does, if not lush himself!

Lots of people saying we need ruck depth - but we have proven we can still consistently win the clearance count with makeshift ruck rotations (which gives us other advantages around the ground). So as long as we keep Spencer, why do we need ruck depth? We have 2 more potentials developing as we speak. The Mac bro's and Frost have been excellent in recent weeks, and I'm really starting to see the potential of Oscar and Sam (Tom's always been great IMO). But I think we need a genuine elite KPD, and as others have said, Lever would be the dream, and I'd pay overs for him. He would complete what I would consider to be one of the best half half rosters going around come next year. Other than that, I'll take another Jeffy if available.

Monday morning routine these days > Walk into the office with Melbourne lanyard with great purpose > www.melbournefc.com.au > Every 10 minutes, hit "F5" until "all the goals" video appears

Oscar's disposal efficiently may be elite, but the effectiveness of those disposals is often poor. And he is still very underdone physically. Having said that, I see him being an important part of our backline for years to come. The coaching staff are doing a great job with him IMO, his progress can't be ignored.

I low key feel the same way but I'm just not ready to talk about it yet -

A good win - the future looks great, we will play finals no problem, smiles all round The next loss - We are in shambles, Goodwin is a terrible coach and everyone needs to be dropped to Casey Rinse and repeat. -
Sad news, although fantastic that is was caught early. And to all the people here who proclaimed they knew it "wasn't physical", chill out on the speculation next time - it'll make you look like less of an [censored] down the track.

Bronze membership? Please son, you've been around since breakfast.

With Jordan Lewis around, I'm not worried about us getting ahead of ourselves coming into round 2 against a hopeless side like Carlton. Dee's 40+

I've read plenty of ridiclous comments on DL ... but this one is pretty special. Where to even begin with this? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your computer autocorrected the word 'retarded' to 'fair'.
