  1. Completely agree. I'm sick of hearing the same excuse every time someone does that - "they were protecting themself". Absolute horseh!t - leading with your elbow mid-air is not how you brace for impact. Tucking your elbow in and absorbing the impact through your shoulder is how you brace for an impact. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been knocked on their arse enough times in life.
  2. Fair call. I think its safe to say he won't do it again. Its career suicide these days
  3. What would you call a bloke that breaks someone's jaw with a punch when they aren't looking? Coward is one of the nicer words I'd use
  4. Can't understand what people see in Bugg. He gets a bit of footy but that's where it ends for mine. He's mostly wasteful in front of goal when it matters and simply speaking is certainly not in our best 22. He's not even in my best 30. He lost me when he made a decision to break someones jaw when they weren't looking. He can rot away in the VFL for the rest of his career for all I care because, aside from being a coward of a bloke, he simply isn't that good. He sits somewhere in between a good VFL player and a serviceable AFL player. At some point you have to strike a balance between rewarding effort and bringing in players with actual ability and more upside. Having a team full of people that try real hard at VFL level won't get us anywhere. At some point we need to bring in genuine ability. When Jeffy gets going we are a 2-3 goal better team. Bugg does not offer that whatsoever.
  5. We'll respond, don't be that dramatic. At this point I'm thinking team selection this week will be the ultimate factor, cause we've royally stuffed that up since Lever went down.
  6. Not sure this conversation has a point anymore lol
  7. I'd say the two are mutually exclusive. Who out there performs really well in a job they hate? Happy workers = productive workers.
  8. No-one at the club said he can't use social media, so who's the boss you are referring to? I think having fun and likable personalities out there off the field is good for membership. It's one of many factors that will help make this club a powerhouse again I reckon. Trying to turn the players into robots that can't have a bit of fun off the field will have a negative impact on the way they go about their footy. I'd rather they have a bit of fun and enjoy what they're doing.

Resumes and accomplishments speak far louder than rumor and hearsay.
  10. If your boss told you weren't allowed to go on Demonland in your spare time outside of work until you hit a KPI at work - what would you say?
  11. Dom is shaping up to be good trade bait now, a few clubs could use him. Not sure we have any use for him anymore.
  12. You seem like the kind of bloke that has there school listed as "The School of Hard Knocks" on Facebook ...
  13. Happy with both of them right now. Can't figure out why we need to compare the two though.
  14. Yeah I think it might be. Especially if we have a crack in September. Love the bloke to bits but he's slowing down a little bit, which comes at no surprise since he's been carrying the whole team on his back for so many years (Hope I'm wrong)
  15. > Hogan kicks 70 > Petracca breakout - club champion and top 5 Brownlow > Lever to absolutely shut the naysayers up > Tyson a regular feature in VFL > Win a game in September, a fitting farewell gift to to Nathan Jones
  16. As opposed to what? The long list of 17/18 years old's available at that point that we're somehow built like men and are ready to play 22 games in 2018?
  17. Interesting comment given you were present for none of the conversations between the clubs with regard to this trade
  18. Good deal, great acquisition Damn our backline is looking magnificent next year now. And I think thats really important given our attacking game plan. I suspect our turnovers will hurt less next year.
  19. Good post, I hear what you're saying and won't try to argue with any of that. Time will tell - lets hope you're wrong! (If we play September this year I think we'll see why we need him more than ever)
  20. He contributed plenty last night - 24 touches, 10 contested and 7 marks. Stop thinking he needs to be one of our elites - that's not what he was brought to the club for. Of all those players you mentioned - none of them had the presence of mind to instruct ANB to chip and effectively seal the win beyond all doubt. Good game from Lewis IMO
  21. Too many people here think that when players like him don't get 30 touches every week they're useless. Completely baffling lack of understanding from some. He removed any possibly of a loss last night.
  22. Silenced a few doubters in here with quality leadership last night. Good to see.
  23. Its a highlight reel, why would they include highlights of him missing targets? Lol ...
