Love him or hate him you can admire him for the love he has for his club. To help his club when it was in financial trouble by becoming the President and building a solid foundation at Collingwood. Instigated and set up a home for the club at the old Olympic swimming pool and with help from the state government a training ground close to the MCG which they call home. 22 years as President I say Well done Eddie you went out help your club to survive and be viable. You certainly love your club.

I remember Darren Cuthbertson well Waverley against Collingwood played on Dennis Banks a fair player as Cuthbertson kicked 7 goals, Always good to beat the Pies. The previous week he managed 7 against North. and 5 against Brisbane. 19 goals in three games Played 29 games . Had something there but was short lived. Went back to Epping and played in a couple of Premierships. What a waste of talent.

Projected Best 22's 2021
nosoupforme replied to AaronDaveyChipsAndGravey's topic in Melbourne Demons
No drdrake had a BRAIN FREEZE. OMG! left him out! -
Only because l was at the 2 games at the Gee Melbourne kicked their equalled highest score in 1991 round 5 being 28 14 182 against North as it had been mentioned as North had 27 scoring shots in that game. kicking 17 10 112 However they achieved the same score 5 years previously IN 1986 of 28 14 182 against North again as they also had 27 scoring shot. Kicking 14 13 97. At the gee.

Darren Bennett having a shot at goal on the Gee inside the square many times at least 65 metres out and the ball would travel into the crowd. At times well over the posts. The city end was his favourite end. He was a straight kick from a long way out . Many of the games l have watched from the wings over the decades. Jackovich"s inclusion in the side pushed Bennett out to CHF and struggled to have same effect . Yep dieter is on the money there.

Digby Morell...............Barnaby French,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Tarkyn Lockyer. Sedat Sir Bulldogs 24 Games 1994 - 1998.

Josh wasn't a match winner but he played his role well and at times he had to be left out of the side for an incoming better credentialed play than him. Josh was a goer at least he battled well with 40 odd games under his belt. Thanks for your contribution Josh.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
nosoupforme replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fraser Rosman clunks a mark like Sean Wight did and runs similar it is incredible to watch and tackles just as hard . He knows where the goals are. His kicking is a touch awkward IMV but effective. Could turn out to be a very good utility for us . Is definitely a Sean Wight Mark ll....... -
Should be looking to making the eight there are no excuses. It is a must........ From there would be at least knocking on the door for a Preliminary final. A win in the final series might save Goodwin his position. Might is the word ! however funnier things have happened. Goody has no choice a must for making the finals otherwise it is a fail for him ,

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
nosoupforme replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jake Bowie He was our first pick in the draft and has speed which we lack and has precision kicking which we lack. Most have not seen these guys play in the flesh and some on the site are digging a hole for them. . Let's wait and see before any of us jump the gun. -
. No more choking when it counts!

Mark Williams is a worthy appointment and well done Gary Pert for selecting him and now as he has said Mark is going to prove his worth to our great club. I bloody believe him and back him in.

Mahoney help to rebuild the club and left it in good nick regardless of where we have finish in the last 2 years. Because of Josh we now have a talented list that in time will hopefully get to achieve the ultimate. In short. Thanks Josh Mahoney for helping our great club and being part of it for 13 years. You leave us for another challenge however you will never be forgotten for your input. IMV you are a Demon for life.

How the Demons jumped on Allen Jakovich
nosoupforme replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Allen was a showman and he put up several classic displays and one that comes in mind is against North M in 1991 his first season when he kicked 11 goals 8 behinds one scissor kick goal which was unbelievable and only he could do that. He mesmerised Mick Martyn playing on him all day he had him on his palm. It wouldn't have mattered who you had put on him that day. That is only one of many great games that he produced. Of course he had his tantrums with players, umpires however i loved his style and I am glad I seen him play for our great club. -
Young Tom Sparrow can play as he showed this season helping out in the midfield at times and handled himself well. Played the 5 games and was more than serviceable. 183 cm is a good size for a wing position has opportunities to see him carving a name for himself in 2021.

LJ looks like Tarzan with his wavy hair and the build that is put on . Yze looks as if he is ready to play again. Could have used him on the wing. Great to see some of the familiar faces training.
-
Perhaps not a great development and the poor years the club had.. He was just a natural player that adapted with time got smarter and better. If he played for a top side there would be no doubt a champion recognized by all, That the proof can be on the games he played for Victoria 15 times and Captained by Robbie 3 times .and was always impressive , The time he kicked 5 goals playing at CHF for the Vics. Point taken however Flower was something special IMV he cannot be compared. Should have been in the ultimate Team of the Century.
-
The Great man kicked left foot goals from as far out as he did with his right. Lucky to find a handful of players that can mange to do that. One that comes to mind is Melksham. However there is no comparing. For some reason he mostly bounced the ball with his left hand although he was a right hander. Robbie Flower's highlights are always great to watch you can never be bored watching the Champ.

Luke Jackson's Offseason Transformation
nosoupforme replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Luke wants to get in tip top condition and give himself a chance to play his best football. He is one of that can help the team go up the ladder into September. Although still 19 into next season, the kid looks to be dedicated and starting to look like an impressive unit. Looking forward to watching him live in 2021. -
Bingo ! you deserve the likes.

Heritier Lumumba stood up to the bullies who think they did no wrong. Consistently called a chimp? Not if he was white. What makes one better than another because of the colour of their skin ? Are we still in the dark days? Eddie and his chumps have much to answer for.
