  1. What a better way to finish this dreaded season. Richmond to win by a solitary point. Rich 5 7 37 V Geel 5 6 36 about the average score. Danger to sook it on camera and scream out that is not fair on me it wasn't scripted like this! Ablett to faint after the match.
  2. LJ 19 year old with plenty of upside. Had a taste of the big time in his first year and knows what is expected to do to play a role. His marking will improve as will his kicking for goal and will be stronger for a pre season. Barring any serious injuries l would expect him to help out in the ruck and play between CHF and deep forward as a second tall marking option. The ideal spare parts man at his age.
  3. I think if we pick up a key forward in Ben Brown with his height and ruck ability in the forward line that could ease some of the heavy work load for the Weid and and free himself to concentrate purely playing key forward bash and crash bringing ball to ground for the likes of Kossie and Spargo. Wied, Jackson and B Brown could be an awesome combination to watch when they fire. Who knows if it eventuates I can keep Dreaming.
  4. If you have a solid backline and an AA ruckman also 3 super competitive midfielders where 2 of them are powerhouses, What are you missing? A smart experience coach and there is someone out there.
  5. Only Oliver combining with Petracca can conjure up something special, 2 handballs and a kick from the bounce in the centre outside 50 that resulted in a goal . The 2 Powerhouses at work.
  6. Oliver and Petrac working in tandem two powerhouses and at their prime. Umpires will take notice from now on, no doubt.
  7. Well done Christian Polling 6 best on grounds and a 2nd best. A brilliant season and it showed with the umpire's noticing you. Hoping you can take it to the next level again in 2021.
  8. The form was good enough, 3 less pos a game in 2002 better than 2001 however he won a Brownlow and helped us into a GF. in 2000 the CLUB had a good year.. . Maybe your right your recollection is somewhat hazy.
  9. Woewodin wins a Brownlow in 2000 and then down the track in 2003 he is virtually handballed to Coll/wood .because he was underperforming. The club said he hadn't reached the heights of his Brownlow year. That is a fact and it was poor judgment by the FD. It was so sickening to watch him play for the filth. That is the way we treat our champions
  10. If Petracca has won the Brownlow it would have been best if they surprised him at home. With a delayed telecast they could have got him out of bed and presented him with the Medal. with his PJ's on... It would have been some viewing. 1968 Bob Skilton has been woken from his bed and told that he had won the Brownlow .polling 24 votes.
  11. You racial vilify someone then the problem is with you. The problem is not Lumumba's however you made it for the 2 of you so you are held responsible. It comes down to the club and whoever is in charge. Lumumba has a right to sue and good on him. The club with whom he first played for in Collingwood and the AFL. This is a serious issue and it has to be cleaned up for the good of humanity and for the sake of our game. Heretier Lumumber deserves some peace.
  12. Neville Jetta the great servant of the club like an underdog boxer that gave his all and you cheered him on because you knew he had something to give and you just couldn't knock him down. He was the dependable one consistent until injuries and the dreaded age when you hit the 30s that slows you down. I thought that he would be retiring gracefully and now Collywobbles Buckley is interested. For the life of me take him and give us Tom Phillips .....Jetta and a thiird round pick will do.
  13. Hannan has still something to offer the club. He chases hard and can run and mark well with sure hands a height of 190cm and is talented. His kicking is far better than most and doesn't butcher the ball. He had his injuries the previous year and managed only a handful of games. This 2020 season is out of the ordinary and hope that we have some normality in 2021 and play games at the G in front of crowds. A strong pre season from Hannan might be the trick. He is well worth persevering with.
  14. 1.. Luke Jackson to take the next level as he has had a taste of what to expect. Pinch hit in the ruck 2. PETRAC and OLIVER to become an unbeatable combination and catapult us to the top of the ladder. 3. To play home games on the MCG.
  15. Dunny a reliable and consistent performer playing Full back where I believe played his best football for the Dees. He certainly gave his all and was a fan favourite one l had time for. Off to the sunset with you Dunny you had a good stint enjoy your retirement.
  16. Petracca took his game to another level this year however in the second half of the season he found an extra gear and shot to the next level again, 2 levels in one season Imo . The Brownlow medal count will be interesting to see in which rounds he votes best. Christian can dream of winning a B&F as a young boy as he did, one day it might be a Brownlow. However l hope he dreams of winning a Premiership with our great club The Mighty Dees!
  17. My first jumper with his number 16 and wore it proudly. He was my favourite at the time.
  18. Oskar Baker showed some brilliance kicking 2 goals against GWS his best game for the club one left foot snap was a cracker so has got potential as he showed in the 3 games he played. Has speed that was one of the reasons he eventually came into the side. Held his own in the last 3 games and maybe is ready to produce by having a strong preseason free of injury. Has the potential to do so.
  19. Jack Viney is a Melbourne boy from year dot it is instilled in him . His loyalty is strong and he buys in for the cause the love for his club, his team mates and for the supporters imo. A guy that doesn't take a backward step . book. He is one you want to have by your side.
  20. Here is an artical on Hassa Mann . Note that the reasons why he left is explained. There is also a link that l have provided of the full article as well. Great reading. Mann’s performance at Subiaco when the Big V won by nine points not only won him a nipple-pink coloured transistor radio, but the attention of both Fremantle clubs, who sounded him out as a prospective playing coach. “I had no intention of moving from Melbourne Football Club, let alone across the country,” Hassa said. But when the two clubs pooled together to offer him and wife Glenys a trip to Perth he thought: “why not?” “We flew over with the aim of enjoying ourselves for a week or so; it was an opportunity too good to refuse.” Mann spent a few days as guest of East Fremantle, then South. “I went back to Melbourne and advised the club that I’d been offered a coaching position in the West, told them I’d prefer to stay, and asked for a two year contract,” he recalled. “The Chairman of Selectors replied that he didn’t reckon I had two years left in me.” At twenty eight years of age, the three time club fairest and best winner, most recent being 1967, current All Australian, and club captain, was justifiably upset by his rating at the Demons, and decided to accept South Fremantle’s offer. https://ozfooty.net/newsarticles/pastnpresent/55-where-are-they-now-hassa-mann
  21. Hassa mann was a great player watched him play in the 60s and always looked to kick a goal even playing in the midfield or on sometimes half forward. He had a knack to link in a play starting back of centre and finding himself at the end of the chain lining up for a set shot at goals. He did that several time in his career it was amazing. IMO and many others his career was cut short at the end of 1968 after Captaining the club for 2 seasons and moved to South Fremantle in 1969 at the age of 28, He was a Best and fairest in his first year 1969 and also Captain coached them to a premiership in 1970. Such tragedy when we needed him most. . Fond memories of him playing.. Happy Birthday Hassa
  22. Your quick to criticize Tmac however you have time for Joel Smith you a a hard critic, Please spare me!
  23. If you can remember that first of all his form was ok down back he was shifted at times to pinch hit up forward where he kicked multiple goal maybe twice when shifted late in the games. That was in the Roos reign he had the knack to change forwards to back and vice versa with good success. Tmac played mostly as forward in his teenage years before coming to us. Shows in his kicking style when kicking for goal.. Obviously you don't like Tmac down back or forward. I will keep that in mind.
  24. It has probably been mentioned, Tmac played a number of seasons in the Back half and was a solid player until he was tried up forward with good success. There is a position down back and that is CHB or play deep With a good pre season the confidence can return and Tmac might find his feet again. Surely he isn't a deadbeat and anyway he is contracted. Imo he can force his way back into the best 22. Could find his mojo and when needed go up forward to help out. TMac is out of favour at the minute however imo he can play a role in the side and succeed no doubt. He is not finished.
  25. He is a great choice to become a board member and one of my favourites when playing. Hope he has the time to fill that position. He was an underrated footballer and IMO was hard done by when the captaincy was taken off him after one year and then Neeld sent him to an early retirement.. What a shambles. Neeld set us back a few years.
