  1. Collingwood traded Treloar, Stephenson and Philips next to nothing lost big time IMV They are a shambles. Overpaying. over the Cap and Morale. Managing to stay under the salary cap. How much can you pay someone without ruffling the feathers of his team mates? IMO Oliver would be well compensated with in reason at Melbourne and he would more likely stay.
  2. AA season in my eyes showed why we went after him. A key back who is so valuable and leads by example. Carries the backline.
  3. Nathan Jones is loyal as they can be for playing in a mediocre team when he could have left and pursued his dream to play in maybe a premiership side. If not move to a more successful club with a winning culture. IMO he has earned the right to continue to at least be given the opportunity to play 300 games for our great club. He will be involved in some coaching capacity and playing so hopefully he has some good influence on the young guys. Interesting times in 2021.
  4. I see your point Billy i cannot predict the future however he has a solid base and was drafted as a key back. Had groin problems and l believe he is over that now. When training starts we will know where his at. In 2019 played 10 games and from rounds 14 to 21 played 8 straight that year before he got injured. I believe the club has high hopes.
  5. I believe Jack Viney is the heart and soul of the MFC. He is not going to win you a popularity contest however he will have your back and he would give his all for the jumper. He plays for the team he loves! I hope he is over his injuries and we see a better prepared Jack Viney in 2021 and beyond.
  6. To be honest l like to think that Petty is the man for a key position at CHB he did show promise however he was no slouch when playing forward with a 3 goal game probably against the Bulldogs .Had minimal time there. Forward lines are stacked and Petty is the future for a position down back. Will hone his craft with Lever and May working together down back. Came as a defender.
  7. Christian Salem goes quietly along as he plays his role . His silky skills are excellent however his foot skills are exquisite kicking to position. He is a gem to watch.
  8. I love the way Petrac presented himself on and off the field in 2020, He was second to none. I will say that there is another level that he can take his game to in 2021 and i just can't wait to witness it.
  9. Harmes is a midfielder that can play various roles and can also play a strong go with player against the best . Goody played him as a defender that did not suit and restricted his game style and his form suffered. He can be valuable on a wing and as a midfielder can ,play a role on the forward line His tackling is is of a high standard and he makes them stick' He has many attributes in his game. That is why he is valuable. With a strong preseason Harmes will find his way and the confidence will come back I have no doubt.
  10. Jake Lever is a quality interceptor and not a true key position backman. He needs to be reading the play up field so as to get into a position to cut of the oppositions play. That is when he's in his element. He is turning into a valuable team player. Jake can take his game to another level with the inclusion of a Key backman.
  11. While Maxy is still playing and in my view the best at his trade then we are a chance to go all the way. Hopefully real soon.. Max is a leader of men and leads by example the kind of leader that bleeds for our great jumper.
  12. Mitch would be a good insurance for our key forwards 196cm tall and can play in a number of position. He is a very good mark. Will be 31 next season however IMO will hold his own. Played 5 games in 2020 and his 2 games late in the season were excellent where he took 13 marks in his last game which probably tipped him in favour of another year. If given the opportunity he will present himself well.
  13. Great news LJ is put aside for now as he is contracted to the end of 2022. Now for Clayton Oliver the most important signing to come that would make it perfect.
  14. Oscar was not born with the natural ability however he did apply himself and held his head high against some very good forwards. I feel for a person that played 81 games and gave his best at times in a struggling side. Good luck Oscar and hope that you find a new home. Some team might be able to use you in some capacity. I am sure l am not alone in wishing you the very best of luck.
  15. After his second Knee reco Melbourne promised him a spot on the list and they kept their word. I love the fact that the club has heart and is willing to give a young lad like Aaron that chance to pursue his dream l will be watching his progress with a lot of interest. Wishing him all the very best.
  16. Gus is a valuable team member and at 25yo in 2021 it is prime time. You cannot have enough midfielders that can play in multiple positions and kick goals. They are hard to find players that are dependable. His form has not been consistent like in 2018 and in 2020 had an average year. Gus will need to reassess his style of play. He is good enough to turn his form around and barring his injury to his foot l believe he is a vital cog in the midfield one that will help us make it to the finals and beyond.
  17. Charlie has the potential to be damaging on the forward line now that big Ben has been bought into the makeup he will be looking for the opportunistic goal coming his way. As well as LJ and the Weid he could be in his element. In 2020 he showed that he can be of value to the team with a couple of good above average games however has the tendency to go missing for long periods. When he is on song he makes everything look easy with his kicking to position as he gives the the ball off at the right times. Still young and has upside that is on his side he has football sense just needs to apply himself more.
  18. Clayton Oliver is our best player IMO he is durable and runs all day and l love the way he takes the game on. I am not worried about his kicking like many others are as long he can win the ball. However his kicking has improved and his disposals are cleaner. Oliver has upside and watchout he will only get better. I just hope he sticks it out with the Dees for the remainder of his career.
  19. Great that Hibberd is playing in 2021 he is still a valuable piece in the backline where he can link and break the lines. He is as tough as they come and will make his opponent earn the ball. Has kicked goals on the run and is one who does take the game on. A real tough nut.
  20. We could have got him and salary cap wouldn't have been a issue . He preffered Hawthorn and didn't rate us I believe. We would have done better than pick 65.
  21. There is never going to be another Robbie Flower mate ! He was in a class of his own. Played his first senior game in 1973. So l feel sorry for you that you missed him playing. He would have walked into any top side with ease in todays football. It is not an opinion it is the truth. You cannot compare.
  22. Collingwood although injuries will be their key factor trading 3 very good players and the way they did it will have a great effect on moral. Brisbane are the most vulnerable in mind unless they play most of there games at the Gabba. There would not want Daniher to continue There are only 2 certainties Geelong and Richmond. No more excuses for Melbourne it just has to happen our list is stacked up for the finals in 2021.
  23. Ed Langdon a running machine. he has the stamina to go all day and doesn't seem to tire out from one end to another. He is amongst of our best pickups IMO and had an excellent year finishing in our top 5 in the B&F..
  24. Ben, Brown was the priority and the draft no. 18, 19 and 28 are a bonus Thanks to Josh Mahoney. He has done well for a number of years now.
  25. Yes and good point. However he just needs to play his role and will be more than valuable he has the smarts. Strong mark for his size and kicks with both feet with precision. He is 29 has a good couple of years in him and is a team player. IMO. I am willing to stick by him as 2020 was a bizarre year and many didn't handle it well.
