  1. It's time for Petty to make his mark and playing next to Lever and May as a key back himself will gain experience and know how from the best. He is suited in the back half but was tried in the forward line with some success kicking 3 goals against the Bulldogs in round 17 2019 and took 5 marks. Has plenty of upside and could be a breakout season in 2021.
  2. Nev done it the hard way to become one of our top players and respected at that. I say it with a heavy heart the injuries got the better of him and seem to slow down all of a sudden. However if he thinks he can go on he will be 31 at the start of the next season. I wish him the very best either way.
  3. Marty is worth a contract. Played 14 games in 2019 and really looked at ease for his first season. A good insurance mainly on the backline and similar to Joel smith in size. Marty just has better skill and a footy brain. Injury ruined his season in 2020. Charlie 2 year contract is worth the punt he is worth persevering with and only 2i next season . He is getting stronger and showed some good form in his limited appearances has upside and expect him to improve.. The ability is there.
  4. His skills would be maybe of standard in very low grades. Maybe i say. athlete ? yes. That is it. He has had his chances , no more excuses.
  5. 196cm key forward Can Mark and is a good long kick. I thought he was stiff not to play some early games after a flop game against the Eagles. Played 4 of the last 5 games and his last 2 games against GWS and Essendon were outstanding and was part of the reason we won. IMO he deserves another year and will be good insurance to have around. Turning 31 in 2021 but looks in good nick.
  6. Nathan Jones will be great to have around the club. He has a chance to play 300 and if he is good enough then he will get there. He is professional enough to understand the circumstances and being around the guys he can be able to help them out with their game. is a great competitor and although he is past his best he has the motivation to give it his all. Knows how the game is played and what to expect. Looking forward to Nathan Jones playing his part. A loyal Melbourne man forever.
  7. Nothing like a good preseason and straight into it. He has upside and can take over Jetta's role and is a handy player. IMO Lockhart can play forward as well however down back defends well and has go in him, can tag and link in play. A late starter and will be 25 at the start of the season. Has the smarts.
  8. Hibberd can hold his own I don't doubt his ability however one year deal is a good one and he can easily play a further year after that. Tough as nails
  9. Cameron was not interested he had the Cats on his mind and was thinking of the Dollars Anyway We had the game won. Sat the last quarter mainly on the bench. GWS never got near the ball in the last.
  10. So were many others like myself. What makes it hard is his position was taken by Joel Smith now isn't that a joke. We won't make finals with Joel in the side if he is in our best 22. FFS. Anyone who rates him doesn't know much about the game and that goes for the coach as well.. My cat watches the footy and when he sees him on TV he hisses at him.
  11. Thanks Demonland and co you guys do an awesome job behind the scenes.
  12. Regardless of our views we have a right to our opinion Yes, and being respectful of each other after all we follow the same club and that means we have a connection you like it or not. If you don't like some ones opinion so be it. Move on I fell in love with this great football club in 1960 and l blame my father for that but l thank him forever.
  13. Dumb clubs. However we are the Dumbest.
  14. Melbourne have to get mentally tough and the way to do it ??????? A preseason with the Tigers is the answer.
  15. Vlaustin off and Ablett off that evens that up. That is it for Ablett well played today. Gary.
  16. Harmes is a valuable player that can play in a number of positions . Mid, wing, High forward and is more than a capable stopper.. A good preseason behind him will grasp his chance and is good enough to come back from a poor season. After all he is only 25 and has plenty of upside. He stays and they won't trade him . I am sure of. that.
  17. Jesse didn't realize how good he had it with us before he broke down and then asked for a return home. In the end Goody had enough and did a deal . When your in a good space you tend to play good footy and he was with Melbourne .Now he wants to move on again and we should ask the question. If Freo are willing to trade for Jesse we should look at it. If you don't ask you won't know.
  18. Yep, however Robbie didn't need to tackle they chased him and he had the ball on a string. He had the skill set and some how knew when to steal the ball from their hands when they attempted to dispose of it .Was very crafty
  19. Ben Brown and Luke Jackson deep in the forward line Browny leading and Jako in the square and visa versa. Two big units Height 200 CM AND 198 CM They are a good fit.
  20. Mitch played consistently in his first year 2017 and looked a ready made talent his second year 2018 missed some games however his game against Geelong in the finals he lit the MCG with a goal that will live forever with most of us. He was a fair player that didn't realize his potential. That is his claim for 15 minutes of fame I would say the goal that sealed the game.
  21. I was listening to it and and spewed with Coll/wood being in front by 7 odd goals something like that at half time. I remember listening to the radio and they were calling it over Carlton cannot possibly win. seems like yesterday.
  22. It is good to have Brad Green back in any shape or form. He is a champion person. He will contribute some footy nous no doubt.
  23. Just so you know about Toumpas he had skill but you have to know how to use it. He was never a good Greek fighter on the field. Another wasted 1st rounder.
  24. Jeff White was a great pick a talented Ruckman that could play forward. Kicked a goal from 50 late in the final quarter against the Bulldogs in a night game and was a goal when it left his boot that bought the house down. He put us in front and won us the game. A memory that l will never forget it was like a finals game. IMO White was the reason Stynes retired earlier Simmonds was moved on and much later Jolley. I loved him as a Ruckman however i thought he would have made a better key forward who can grab marks and kick goals he was needed to carry ruck. Lives in Queensland and keeps in touch with most of his team mates which is great to here and has fond memories of the 2000 grand final week and in which he played in. His young boy is 13 and and just on 6 foot and his father says that he has more tricks than he did at the same age and loves his footy . No problems with White he talks about his time there with fondness. He is a true Melbourne. boy.
