I should add we are building strong bonds with the AFL and other teams in the competition, working towards strong bonds with key stakeholders in the community at large , re-invigorating our brand to attract the younger generation - but most of all giving the players perspective so they can emulate what the club is trying to do off the field . Our players past and present are everything to us - we treat them with respect and hope one day they can deliver the ultimate goal.

Keep your chin up we will be fine. When the going gets tough the tough get going. We are developing a innovative positive culture but that will take more than just people inside the club to understand that - hence the need for time, but as you say we mainly are a resilient lot of supporters. The good times are a coming - Go Dees

Thank-you Jim - The thread was designed around what you would do to help MFC find alternative revenue streams. Not about - The AFL changing its Not-for-profit status with the obvious implication being the AFL paying taxes - I dont think thats a good outcome for the general public. But it would not worry me if admission prices went up. Happy to hear your ideas on how the MFC can find alternative revenue streams - or maybe the club would be if you didnt want to publish them in public. GO DEES. -
Not sure they would agree with you - but winners are grinners. I shaw first hand all the hard work that went into it - it was very motivational, very positive environment to be around.

Also its possible if the AFL paid more in tax - there would be a very high possibility of admission fees going up - then some people would complain the AFL admission prices are getting out of the reach of a normal family. Please note some people complain we have to play games in Darwin - the same people complain they hate poker machines. Personally, I can live with both or neither. Welcome the AFL's push to make clubs more "business like" and seek alternative sources of income - hence the thread. I support the MFC thru their business functions where 80-90% of the audience are NOT MFC supporters. Think its clear the club is trying to create a positive innovative culture - again I support that - but I'm sure some will find a reason to complain about something they always do. I'm happy with the MFC, I'm happy with the AFL the game is in very good shape. -

Just to clear up a few clearly wrong statements above. Please read my quote. I would prefer to look for alternatives- other than the supporters. MFC have a fantastic core of resilient loyal supporters among the best in the league - again sorry some people don’t read the thread they take comments out of context. The AFL are pushing clubs to be more “business like “ - Educational Institutions have obvious links to the business world. I enjoy our MFC business functions - they are a potential gold mine and have many innovative ideas to raise more revenues as a possible alternative to poker machines - which I personally dont care if they stay or go. I’m happy to live with whatever descision the AFL makes. Hi Go Dees -

What would you pay more money for to help the MFC further stabilize?
DaveyDee replied to DaveyDee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hahaha I was all over the Tigers deal a long long time ago and many other initiatives. As I said our relationship with Chisholm I have no problems with I have no problems with working with Australian Leading Educational Institutions - I do on a daily basis. However, I was hoping for innovative ideas - but such is life copying others clubs and you repeating it is all fine from me. You continually prove many things to me but I will refraining from throwing insults - I’m actually glad I can put you back on ignore. -

Hi Andy just thought I would ask a question podcast related . Do you have the facility to broadcast a game live? Reason I ask I actually enjoy games more when the commentary is totally bias towards us ... plus it comes from the heart. -

Not a problem, personally think it’s fair to say , I can see AFL clubs diversifying income streams and Educational Institutions are a great source of information & more importantly cheaper “graduate talent” -

Essendon & RMIT once you read thru the “spin” are making a straightforward play to increase their membership numbers via overseas students!!!!! With all due respect to The Chazz the idea is primarily designed to grow memberships and incomes anything else is a pure bonus m.essendonfc.com.au/community/multicultural-programs/globall-program -
Exciting times ahead many positives changes and no doubt a few blunders - but such is life. AFL - game in great shape AFLW - Even after one year you can see the massive leap forward the game has taken AFLX - As I said in my very first comment on AFLX - game needs some tinkering but at last we have a product that is exportable/marketable overseas now let’s get some of the elite players more involved. The “conservatives” in AFL football are going to struggle but you can’t please all of the people all of the time

When he went back to the Rookie list - give us the details around that time of his career. Who or what event turned it around for him to get back on the senior list? What does life look like after AFL football? Back to WA? Coaching? Other? Has he ever had any offers from other clubs? Was he tempted. If there was one player from any other team in the league He could pick to come to the Dees - who would it be and why? -

Well said, think you will also find there is an opportunity to do "joint" function/s ( not of the smoking type ) where we can attempt to get access to their AFL "undecided", "no club", overseas students, we capture them in their early years and encourage them to stay for the rest of their lives - as their income capacity increases hopefully we get an increased value of membership. Dont forget a membership number by itself is not that important - what is important is the revenue/profit raised thru memberships. -
I really like our scarf, i send them all around the world to promote our brand/football club. Funny enough the Americans & the Swiss love them the most. Think its something to do with the colours and having Melbourne on it.

This is the first positive comment you have made in the thread. Would not worry me if they bought more might be a buyers market a few other clubs are committed to get out. Importantly- Just not sure how the AFL would react - we might get 22 games a year in Darwin. Then hear the squealing. I also could not see our board & CEO approve it. Many of our supporters complain about the fixture, they complain ( hate ) the poker machines, they complain about our CEO & Board - really all they won’t to do is complain. -
Blight thinks Dees will struggle to make the Eight.

You are spot on - MFCSS is alive and well with some of our supporters inside this site.
