  1. No I did not mis it - it is irrelevant in the debate. Sorry, I can’t accurately predict where the game will evolve to neither can you. At best guess it’s only a opinion. Todays fool could be tomorrow’s genius.
  2. They may both be right 1/ Maxy - ability to impact the scoreboard 1/ Nic Nat - ability around the ground to impact the contest I would rate Maxy as a ruck/forward and Nic Nat as a ruck/mid-field ulility.
  3. Yeah yeah we heard all these arguments .. when Hawks won 3 flags without a reckonised Ruckman, Bulldogs & Tigers did the same. Proved you wrong. Most AFL coaches don’t rate ruckmen - too slow, too injury prone not reliable when you most need them. The game is evolving - only a fool would not recognise that. “Big men” ie Ruck/forwards that can go forward and kick goals and impact the scoreboard - still have a place in the game.
  4. Pure Ruckmen are finished. Ruckmen/ Forwards that can go forward and kick goals have been saved by the 3rd man up rule. Reduces injuries. However, think it’s only a matter of time before teams start playing 2 x Sean Griggs type players and concede the tap in the centre square.
  5. 1/ we give a 4 goal start, we don’t panic and think the world is falling in - we go onto win the game by 6 goals 2/ our depth is starting to shine, we can bring players in and they shine 3/ our game plan is solid but I feel there still is improvements to be made still plenty to work on but we seamed to have learned to play the whole game out
  6. “He forgot about fans though..... The AFLFA contacted the AFL about having an AFLFA fan representative on the panel once its existence became public knowledge. The AFL initially wrote back and said the AFLFA would be in consideration however we did not hear from the AFL again after this.”
  7. PJ is forever an optimist as am I. Good to see it’s part of our “business” analysis and I hope we don’t just replace the pokies profit but we exceed it.
  8. Awesome - my faith/optimism is now 100% restored. Onwards and upwards from here. Go Dees
  9. It’s not about them and us - they will be looking for win win scenarios and what is good for football. Some people have the ability to work with other clubs .... you don’t go to represent a club you go to better the game. But I understand why you think the way you do. “Peggy” is a very balanced person, I’m glad there is no Kennett then the fireworks would start.
  10. Not always - the panel looks like genuine quality football people. I would not worry - if we the MFC had any concerns I’m sure the AFL would listen to us. Yes, it’s dissapointing we did not get a seat but the MFC as a whole club has to prove itself worthy and demonstrate in can put the game in front of self-interest - now that’s the big challenge for us. Anyway Peggy O’Neal is there we will be fine.
  11. Only watched the game on TV so my analysis may be flawed - but I have to agree with the general sentiment the game was of a fairly low standard from a tv spectacle for me. Sadly, the highlight of the game was the regular crowd shots that gave me a bit of a chuckle - both sides have more than their fair share of weird looking supporters.
  12. Well said. We have a very bright future in an extremely tough business environment. I look forward to find ways we ca Build our membership numbers, build our crowds and work with the business community to grow our sponsorship deals. Go Dees
  13. I’m sure it will be some derogatory term against a person who has a different opinion as him. His other popular term would be “troll” the irony is quite funny. It’s the most banned term around the internet but the most misused term. Happy to be wrong of course
  14. The haters are always going to hate every club has the same problems- just part of life.
  15. Sorry you are asking the wrong person that question. I’m a football person - I barrack for the MFC that play the game of AFL football in the sports entertainment business. I support the AFL and I’m happy to discuss football matters and learn from anybody at any club. Go Dees
  16. With all due respect to past administrators much of their time was consumed dealing with political or religious agenda pushers. Which often led to polarisation that spilled over into football matters. This club had been dogged with those problems for decades plus the “haters” who are always going to hate. The MFC is now politics and religion free - all are welcome male or female, young or old etc
  17. Don’t think the terminology you used is correct ie pipe dreams & wishy washy IMHO the club has a clear strong message. We are a football club not a religious or political organisation. We are prepared to make positive innovative changes to attract a whole new generation of supporters. the AFL assisted us with the rebirth of our club - the AFL goals and MFC goals are aligned. Some of us will be forever grateful for the assistance and key personnel the AFL provided. This will upset some but it was recognised long, long ago some who want to hold onto the ways of the past and resist change. Such is life. Go Dees
  18. Omg who would have thought these are our strategic goals grow the fan base, increased game attendances strategy to reposition our club 'for the next generation of fans' (Barlett's words). Sounds like the “old boys” club is gone, gone, gone Go Dees
  19. You need to teach your grand-daughter that to answer that question you probably need around 40-50 hrs of form analysis, then take that form analysis and have the ability to frame your own markets - a strong back ground in mathematics, probability and computer literacy . Helps. Now she is up against professionals ie Bookmakers with deep pockets - it’s not easy money it’s a tough, tough grind. However, if she wants to take the “lazy option” she is probably better to stick with tattslotto like her grand-parents generation probably did. But remind her the odds of winning lotto.
  20. Stay positive 3 new sponsors in a month - Chisholm deal, we are working closer than ever with the AFL and other teams in the comp to grow our “core” business, bums on seats and improved membership numbers. This may upset some but such is live - a innovative positive culture was set into motion many years ago - now its time for you and others to support a positive future. MFC has learned from others - long may it continue. Long may our stronger bonds with the AFL continue. Some of us have the ability to thank and appreciate what the AFL has done for us . Go Dees
  21. Cough cough - Maybe this topic is a tad more relevant after today’s event. Wait to you hear what’s coming next Go Dees
  22. Ok fair call - you obviously take this more serious than me. I thought it was just a bit of fun. I’m going to do as you ask and leave. All the best hope we have a great year. Go Dees
  23. Just be mindful our players and our players families also want to be part of our community Listen to last 2 Demonland podcasts
