  1. Yeah I don’t see it that way - I think all he ever does is try and share his love for the club. Now, Saty and his partner have not always seen eye to eye with me either - but I think I was more at fault there. I’ve learnt more from meeting him than he knows. But each to their own
  2. Ok fair enough well said, but I’m not walking away from saying Saty is one of the most loyal, passionate Demons supporters you will ever meet. He and his lovely partner go to nearly ever game for as long as I can remember- he bleeds red & blue. So he is 10 x a better supporter than I will ever be.
  3. Yeah but some people have been saying that for the last 4 years - it’s the same small group in nearly every thread - same tactics - just they attack another poster. I don’t think they will ever learn. Saty, is one of the most loyal passionate MFC supporters you would ever meet - he is 10 times a better supporter than me and may I add the “trolls” attacking him.
  4. Fair enough - However, in todays game coaches love players that can win their own football - winning the contested ball is everything. Funny enough I reckon our position will be strengthened or weakened depending on what we decide to do with Lewis & Vince. Fun times ahead.
  5. Or exactly what I said we would pay before the trade went thru ( I even made a bet on this site ) and exactly what Peter Jackson confirmed after the trade went thru. Adelaide opted for the 2 x first rounders due to the fact this years draft in full of talented SA kids - so no go home factor - and we were more than happy to oblige. Lever was a bargain due to the Crows internal player payment structure - but that payment structure has worked well for them in the past just in this instance we took advantage of it. Wines needs to be our priority this year, followed by Gaff as a free agent. I think we will easily have the cap room - Port wont have, but Ollie is very loyal. Gaff think the salary would be similar on either side of the country - just a matter of does he want to come home.
  6. Port can only demand the equivalent compensation to what they are paying him - last year we got Lever for equivalent to pick 5. Wines is probably not quite to the value of pick 5 but it would be close - so easily doable if he nominated the Demons. Dont “lock it in yet Eddy” but Port have taken a huge gamble and it’s not paying off yet.
  7. Don’t disagree Gaff has to be a target. But our number 1 target needs to be Ollie Wines - Port have bet the farm and at this stage things are not going well.
  8. Hahaha - classic internet paranoia / conspiracy theory - Made me chuckle here are more for you https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/oct/27/jk-rowling-doesnt-exist-conspiracy-theories-internet-cant-resist
  9. Traditionally AFL football clubs have not been good in the business of making money.
  10. This does raise the obvious question - How do you replace the gambling revenues coming into the game? Think there is another thread on the site discussing that very question - so maybe a question you don’t have to answer here. If, you can’t anwer that question you have to deal with the situation as it is. Personally, I don’t mind either way - I’m happy to deal with the situation as it is until a better ulternative is put forward. Go Dees
  11. Think many people these days are working hard to ensure we do have the money to fix our own issues. Ultimately, football is just a game in the business of sports entertainment. As much as that may upset people you can’t change what is out of your control.
  12. She was amazing these days I just sit and watch her without one cent on her - as they say the more you bet the more you win. Im looking forward to watching her career in the breeding barns - if she ever gets there!!!!
  13. - yeah there are some funny names. I like the horse called - Near Queue which is a bit of a play on Far Queue ... that always makes me chuckle
  14. Cheers Didn't see Maccas input. All the best hope you make a tidy profit, tough game and it is not an easy business.
  15. If you are backing all combinations at level stakes you will find it hard/impossible over the long-term to turn a profit. Now I'm assuming 2 & 6 were not the same price and your selection for 3rd "the field" all cant be the same price.
  16. I'm confident we will get a deal done if Ollie elects to leave SA - but with a huge emphasis on the if.
  17. Don Scotts ratings are a tad outdated for obvious reasons. However, his principles hold true. We smashed the bookies, over 3 sports, over a 5-6 year period. We had professional analysis's in each sport & a database/price computer team. So much so we ended up working/partnership with certain companies in their price assessments we even happily took part of the exposure. So you are up against the professionals - You need to work your butts off or over the long run you will just be "another mug punter".
  18. You guys need to get yourself a copy of the best book ever written on horse racing - Winning More by the legendary Legal Eagle - Don Scott ( not Don Scott of footy fame ) He will help with your multiple betting options and even more importantly how to frame a market to maximise returns. I've sold my business in this sector. But if I was ever looking to get back into this sector I would look at Tennis Betting.
  19. The beautiful thing is I doubt it is going to be about returning to Victoria or the money.
  20. Well said plus they have Boak, Polec, Gray & Westoff up - they have bet the farm. Good luck to them - they might need it.
  21. You have to ignore Chazz he has no idea what he is talking about. Both Rockliff & Motlop netted 1st Round compensation picks to their original clubs so you are right they did come at a premium in salary cap space. Watts we moved on to help clean up space in 2019 cap - there are a few very interesting options on the table at the end of this year. Could be a very interesting time ahead in the player movement space for a relatively young and up & coming list - our timing could well be impeccable for once. Much will depend on Ports on-field performance ie How deep, deep they go into September
  22. We had a fair crack at Ollie last time he was out of contract. Think he knows we are interested. Kid can win his own football and thats the key criteria you need in todays game. This time its also a little different, Port have bet the farm on Watts, Motlop & Rockliff, we are an up & coming force. Plus last time when in negotiations I got the feeling - Ollie is not all about the $$$$. Port this time also have Boak, Polec, Westoff plus a few more big names up for debate. Much will come down to their on-field performance. Interesting times ahead - Can Port retain them all with a poor on-field performance.
  23. I have this feeling we hope he is going to be Levers partner in crime for around 8 year.
  24. I love his name - would look good on the team sheet. Thats good enough for me to get my support. But I defer to the better judges on his football talent.
  25. Not sure I went that far - I've always wished the boy well, refused to listen to the internet rumours just like Essendon & Geelong have, thought it was going to be very difficult to land him. However, we are up to our eye balls in this trade because its very important to us.
