  1. Sheedy is a very interesting character when he had his second stint at the Tigers. He is a wealth of knowledge and as passionate a Tiger as I have ever seen. Black & Yellow runs thru his veins. He may have supported the other clubs but that may be due to many reasons.
  2. I always enjoy a laugh if it was good for the football club I would be interested. It also would not be out of the question to find some funding again if it was good for the MFC - but I would do nothing without MFC approval. If it was deemed/ seen as a business I would also want 100% of the profits donated to the MFC. But in short I’m always happy to assist the MFC in a positive way.
  3. Interesting comment - all I can say is welcome to the world of metadata. If anybody can prove by reasonable efforts that DeeSpencer is infact Mrs D Brown ( made up name for example only ) has allegedly done the following wrongs- Law enforcement agencies can easily get access to your ISP server data. It would not be out of the question to tell you what you ate for dinner and with whom etc
  4. I would not worry about a players injury being wrongly quoted - but I would worry about many comments written by Joe Nobody on certain sites.
  5. Does Big Footy own their own data centre and servers? or Are they on a shared server? Think you might find Facebook & Twitter own their own data centres and servers. But sorry I cant speak for any other site thats their issue to deal with now the players have mentioned social media.
  6. I would say thats an interesting assumption FB should not have a problem because the person posts/publishes under his or her name - so it would be relatively easy to get facebook to act. Assuming the AFLPA lawyer thought they had a case. Twitter again understanding how their servers operate store and save data it might be tricky - but hell they are a massive company - if they cant identify the individual or group thats there problem. Other sites I cant say maybe a question you should ask Bigfooty. But what I do find interesting is they actually mention social media as a target.
  7. Interestingly, this has massive implications for all publishers of content both on or offline. Wonder when or how long its going to take for the AFLPA ( on the behalf of some players) to sue Bigfooty? or An Ex-official suing Bomberblitz for slander with comments regarding their conduct regarding recent issues at their club?
  8. I 100% support the players on this issue - it has been a serious problem for quite some years sadly even at our own club. Its exactly one reason I gave up reading the AFL media long, long ago and why I love your podcasts. Your podcasts go direct to the source And cut thru the AFL media.
  9. There is always a place in this world for doing things just for fun.
  10. This is an annual event at your footy club great to hear it worked for you. Hope you enjoy the season.
  11. Once we reach a membership of 65k plus and an average of 40 k plus on crowds we should have the financial resources to compete and win a premiership. Until then fixable issues like injury management & prevention won’t go away. We have done very well in recent years to increase recources in our recruting departments & player development elements so that should see us stabilise somewhat baring a run of horrific injuries. I should mention the AFL is doing a very good job to make the clubs more “business like” in and diversified in their thinking. Some clubs have grasped the concept some have not. We now understand the Draft is not an equalisation tool - more a method to extent the reach of the season. Financial success is the tool to equalisation in 2018 - you have to understand the “Clarkson cluster” dominates AFL onfield sucess in this era. The last 5 premierships ie 3 x hawks, 1 x bulldogs and tigers have come from this way of thinking.
  12. Return of the Roos? - Good name for the campaign. May the force be with you.
  13. We would get our own box and demand AFL press status.
  14. No expletives? No complaining at umpiring decision? No justification for Demons players getting all the votes 3,2,1 win, loss ( which obviously we will never have to consider) or draw? Maybe when the opposition do get a touch we have our own catch cry "Oh no, oh no, oh no"
  15. That would make awesome podcasts - so Im happy to support you on that request.
  16. Or listening to it on a live completely biased Demonland Podcast - hehehe
  17. Well said TV rights are the biggest component of the equation but not all of the equation. Long-term online rights IMHO are going to surpass TV rights.
  18. Well said , you have to consider both National & International sponsors. I too would like to see a full time team in Tasmania - what club do you suggest?
  19. What is the alternative source of income you are suggesting then ? If you advocate the removal of one income stream you need an alternative - post constructive comments in below thread
  20. I’m with you all the way - but try explain that to some around here who constantly complain about our National Competition & the AFL.
  21. $3-4 million of extra spending inside our footy department should solve that problem.
  22. I'm 100% behind Roos - think he is on the money. I would love to see us spending more money in the areas of injury prevention and management. However, you cant spend what you dont have -so our big danger would be a horror run of injuries. I look forward to us growing our memberships and average crowds then things will change - then we are less in the hands of injuries.
  23. Think that’s a very good point - in the heartland of NRL AFL footy is on TV weekly therefore appealing to National Sponsors. Plus you get Vic, SA, WA and Queensland coverage again weekly but obviously the NRL is not as strong in those states. If I was.an International sponsor looking for a foothold in Australia I’m 90% of the time going AFL. Importantly often the AFL will pass these sponsors back to clubland where possible.
  24. Cheers also found an article from fin regarding our market in Victoria http://www.afr.com/business/sport/how-richmond-have-become-the-biggest-afl-club-in-victoria-20170824-gy3ekm
  25. Is that you Kevin? We have told you before MR Bartlett it’s people like you that have held our club back for years. Even if we make a grand-final I’m sure you will find something to complain about. Sorry, Kevin we are building a positive innovative community that works with the AFL - sorry if that does not suit your agenda of constant whining & complaining. Bye-bye Kevin your days are numbered - enjoy the unemployment queues.
