Again, I have no problems with you having an opinion on our captains character. Personally, I can see the difficult situation he has been placed in infront of the cameras - but I'm not going to slur his or the clubs character without getting all the facts. Just not sure anybody here has all the facts - but again fine to state your opinions.

Does it upset you that I have respect for our players both on & offline? I have this funny feeling the players are hoping people can follow my lead ( but you may not be aware of that) - but it does not surprise me your inability to follow our players. IMHO Demonland has a fantastic ability to support and show respect for the players in the podcasts. You obviously support people calling our captain a Liar - interesting. But again - each to their own.

No he stated it as a fact - my point was more to his tone - but each to his own. Again, as a community, if we want respect you need to show respect. Had he stated it as an opinion which I clearly pointed out in my answer I recognised it as an opinion - think we need to watch how we refer to our players. But each to their own - I also just stated my opinion.

That is a disgusting allegation directed towards our captain - I'm somewhat surprised the moderators have allowed it to remain the way it has been worded. Just because your opinion differs from an answer he gave to a question - As a supporter base, we cant expect respect until we can display respect as a supporter base. I really like GWS gameplan - we should have grabbed Heath Shaw when we had the chance, that backline is like a well oiled machine - so precitable yet so hard to stop

Today was very frustrating but it’s not going to dent my optimism One day I hope the MFC has 1/ Geelong footy smarts / maturity 2/ Hawks ability to bounce back from adversity 3/ Tigers business ability to sell hope in the most hopeless of situations 4/ GWS gameplan I think it’s perfectly suited for the game Yet most of all we are the Melbourne Football Club premiers of the AFL

I watch most of the game on TV so this may be flawed analysis but I thought they exhibited all the signs of a good young side - best and worst is miles apart

I’m with you suppose ultimately players are just trying to do the best for themselves and their families. Try to play the best footy they can because you life playing the game is so short.

Yeah Hawks are my smokie to return to the 8 this year so I’m prepared to give the Pies 5 or 6 more games to see where they are at

Our club has made a descision I’m going to support the club and wish Jack all the best. So many of our supporters are suffering from MFCSS this is the bigger problem for the club than I thought. Go Dees

“Whipping boy” & “tall poppy syndrome” maybe are ingrained in our culture.

Maybe they are going to miss Lever more than they thought - we paid a fair price but maybe if he stars for us - maybe Lever might turn out cheap. But I do stress the word maybe - AFL football is very unpredictable circa 2018.

Going to be a great game, I’m feeling really optimistic by the end of the game we will be in front - not sure I like Cats set-up but they would know more about it than me. Obviously I hope we win by 60 points - but at the end of the day a win is a win. Really looking forward to Lever and Fritsch first game, think both can make a huge contribution to our club - l love quality changes like this. Go Dees

Good point - its now time to get the clubs to operate as a business in the game of AFL football & in the world of sports entertainment. Might upset many but it is what it is.

AFL clubs add $16 million in new sponsorship revenue for 2017 OMG the game must be in terrible shape from a corporate point of view - 90K + crowd for the 1st game and maybe a Round 1 record attendance not off the cards - geez.

Tigers have a very specific game style, credit must go to Carlton coaching staff they did their “homework” it took Tigers coaching staff time to make adjustments to get game back on their terms - then it was only stupid mistakes partly related to fatigue that kept Blues in game. You could see Tigers were quite “lazy” off the ball - but OMG when the ball is in their zone they step up 3 gears. I should add don’t worry the Tigers are beatable - we are going to get them their weaknesses are exploitable. Go Dees

Let’s be 100% honest - some people can tell you all the problems of the world today ( hence they are angry, frustrated & impatient) yet could not give you a solution even if their life depended upon it - such is life.

Yeah I think Jake will start, don’t like Cats set up they look a tad top heavy. Hope, we get a large crowd - we have to be a genuine 50/50 chance and if there is rain I think we move into favourites. We have a real chance to set up our season - we just have to learn to recognise & take the opportunities when they present themselves - but that is an education process and a mind set.

I thought the Tigers were quite good after a very slow start, they have an around the ground manic game style where every player pushes up real hard. Talk after the game is quite a few players have been on heavily modified pre-seasons and they are very much aware the season is a marathon, not a sprint. I was hoping for the upset and obviously barracking for the underdog - Blues just failed to play 100 minutes of football but a few of their kids look very talented. Huge crowd, I did not see the final number but the noise early was massive - the game of AFL football is in great shape.

Well I’m off to the game - so im going for Dusty 33+ possies 3 goals Adds a bit of interest in the game at least - just hope I’m wrong and the Tigers don’t belt them. I too secretly hope the Blues can knock them off.
