  1. Yep, this thing needs to get moving soon otherwise we are cactus, and zero players will come to us.
  2. I would really like some players selected in the forward line that can at least chase, harass and tackle. Again, Petty and Fritta had no tackles but that is expected because they are unable or do not want to chase and put pressure on. It comes out of our forward line to easy unless Kozzy in in there. Don't know if Jeffo can put pressure on if unable to mark but we do need to try some different things. Petty, JVR, Melk and Fritta are slow and have no presence. Opposition just takes it out from them with ease.
  3. Hey, Roy Boy, you made one mistake in your statement. Quote "The best coaches in the land" Unquote. If we had the best coaches in the land our skills would be at AFL level not a suburban club.
  4. And Dun Dee it is starting to occur to me that we are just not good enough. Older players are slow, and the kids are struggling. We have plenty of decent VFL players but not up to AFL standard. Need a huge cull at end of season.
  5. We certainly have the dumbest players in the comp. They have no idea. It hasn't changed for years. Just kick it in hope plus handball in hope. Every time it gets in our forward line, they take it out so easily and more often results in a goal.
  6. Great news and if only we can get a home organized I am sure more players will want to come and play with us and Kozzy. He has shown great faith in the club's future and loyalty. Couldn't be happier.
  7. With you on this. Gob smacked that JVR got a game in the first place. Has had ample chances and gives us nothing. His mate Petty was similar and whilst Fritta kicked 3 his efforts without the pill was ordinary at best and IMO probably lost us the game with blatant stupid decisions. Viney if fit for Langford who needs a rest and Jeffo for JVR plus if weather is OK play Campbell to give Gawn a break or if not throw Petty in the relief ruck role and toughen him up.
  8. As with most on here I also was pleased with the effort. Fantastic stuff but boy oh boy do we have a few Jim Carrey's out there on the field. Dumb and Dumber was the order of the day. Same old culprits it is sad to say, and you all know them. Yes, umpires didn't help but to get up there with the big clubs we have to play smarter footy and win these games then the AFL, media and umpires will show some respect, and we will win the 50/50 calls. Also, it seems to me that the young kids are starting to show signs of tiredness and are lacking zip. Maybe one or two of them need a rest.
  9. Hughes and Grinter were choir boys?
  10. Exactly and the way we turned up to play wouldn't matter where we played the game we would have still got a beating. Team just didn't show enough fight and unfortunately it seems to be a bit of the norm after some good wins. Has happened many times over the years. They get us going and excited then let us down.
  11. That's the way I see it panning out. Sharp named in the 18 and with the bench Bill is the only one IMO that will be sub.
  12. Bloody hope so. He is my Super Coach Captain.
  13. Well, we should be able to get this done easily as we have heaps of fringe players at Casey, but would any team want them?
  14. Along with most of you, Viney for either Sharp or Spargo would be my only change. Lever to play in the seconds again and be cherry ripe for the next game. Most likely Sharp out as he was the one Goody subbed out so appears Spargo stays.
  15. Mentioned at qtr time that our skills were terrible both by foot and hand and they were for the better part of first half and then improved a bit BUT you can't deny the effort and G & D put in by the team for the whole game. It was a pleasure to watch. Can't have perfect skills but eliminate the errors when no apparent pressure and this side can win many more games and push for a finals spot. Then who knows what can happen.
  16. Actually, just shows how poor our depth is. Having that many AFL listed players does not give me any confidence going forward. Need to delist about 10 of them but where do we get 10 picks from in the draft. Not a lot to look forward to.
  17. 100 odd AFL fantasy points at half time is not too shabby.
  18. Yep, we are on life support for sure at moment. Just cannot continue with 5/6 players not contributing. Understand that not all players on a given day perform to their best but of late our bottom 6 are giving us nothing and some of them are decent players and 21 premiership players. If unable to shine at least harass, tackle and play the team game.
  19. Got no idea why Jefferson was even selected. We played one man down in the forward line with him there. He and concrete hands struggling big time but what an effort by the rest. Keep it up for another 30 minutes and the game is ours
  20. Well, I hope we get the poor version as coming down from Brisbane with 2 Sons and Twin Grand Sons to watch first Anzac Eve game live. In fact, first time at G since our stirring win against the Cats in QF back whenever. Making it a Footy weekend as going to Magpies/Bombers then Saints/Lions before returning home Sunday. Trust the Demon faithful will be out in force tomorrow night and looking forward to a good win.
  21. You're not wrong. These 2 are supposed to be our future. At least try and tackle. Throw in Fritta and Woey as doing next to nothing and our so-called AFL players would be lucky to get a kick in the local comp let alone VFL. We are in a world of pain.
  22. This game could get very ugly. They have big fellas up forward and classy smalls plus a midfield that will run rings around ours. A decent back line also. Then again, all teams have a decent back line when playing our forwards. Just hope we can be competitive as coming down from Brissie for the Tigers game with Sons and Grandsons. Don't want to go to the G for first time in over 35 years and see us get a hiding from the Tigers.
  23. Mate, you are spot on. I've been a fan of Goody but seriously he needs to be charged and go to court on murder charges as he is killing us with his game plan and lack of flair. Even the highly skilled youngsters that have just come in seem to be lost. We had over half the team last night that played in the GF and whilst it is 4 years ago only Gawn and Langdon are playing anywhere near their 21 forms. The rest of our coaches need to either get this team going or they need to also go including one of our favorite sons in Jones. Williams as skills coach also as our skill level is awful. Then we do kick well to the opposition!
  24. Well, they have done Ok to half time keeping the premiers to only 4 goals! That's not a back line lacking!
  25. Have to agree re the forward coaching but IMO it is mainly our delivery. Even Fritta had 3 opportunities to lower eyes and give off a little kick or hand pass to players on their own and goals would have happened. Once he had 3 players spare including Kozzy and just had an angled shot and of course missed. This is what is needed the most. Our mid coaches and Goody must insist they look for spares when entering or in the forward line. Forwards need to keep on the move. Wouldn't hurt to ask J. Brown to come down a couple of times and work with JVR and Turner.
