  1. Should never eat on an empty tummy! Cost is also silly up here in Qld. I even mention to the poor people serving the grog that I only want a beer not a carton when paying. Quality is ordinary at best. Do you guys still get the hot, jam donuts outside the G from the van? Used to love them after a game.
  2. I was there last night, and it is very clear we do not get a good go from the umpires. Chatted with a guy from the cheer squad and he said we have to kick 2-3 goals extra a game to cover for umpires. He is dead set correct. Not sure if a few of our players back chat them but something is seriously wrong. 3 examples that resulted in Lions goals were dead set wrong. Camerons first goal, one of our players got checked off the ball by Daniher and went flying. No free. A couple involving May with his mark over on the wing and paid a mark and we set up down field for his kick only for a 2nd Umpire calling a block on Hipwood because he threw his arms up in the air. We were in no position to cover the change and another goal to Lions. Worst one was in the last when May clearly took the mark, had his arms chopped and it was called play on. Down they go and kick another goal to level the scores. Even some Lions supporters near me agreed they got a good run of it. We need to front the AFL via President and CEO but of course we will be good little kids and shut up. Lastly our President is alive. Saw here going into a corporate suite last night.
  3. Agree. He's been back playing for Broadbeach Colts in the QAFL last few weeks. Not dominating but let's wait for next season. Has the ability and just needs to fill out a bit and anything could happen
  4. Yes, but our coaching leaves a bit to be desired. If he's being tagged throw him deep forward. He has the attributes to beat any tag up forward and could be dangerous. I said that V north. He would have been dangerous for Powell if he went with him forward. Same with Berry if he goes to him. See what he's like covering Clarry in our forward line.
  5. You're a goose. Put your money where your mouth is.
  6. Agree 100%. If you can put one over the umpire and get a free, why not. Been going on for 100 years. Well done, Maysie. Small fine to pay only.
  7. Yep agree but you may have forgotten their mids. They are miles in front ours and give good service to their forwards who are looking dangerous even Hipwood.
  8. Going along with kids and Grand Kids but fearing the worst. We just are not playing well and our kids, whilst going Ok are just not improving enough. Plus, our middle players are also not doing enough and the less I say about Mr Fritta the best. Could be an ugly showing at the Gabba.
  9. Looked to me on the TV up here in Qld that he had a hard tag. This is where the Coach is failing IMO. I would have thrown him to the forward line and rotated the kids through the middle. Never know a couple of goals up forward for Clarry may lift his confidence. Again, I saw Goody being stubborn and not willing to make changes in game.
  10. I'm going on a different tact than all of you. Reckon Petty will have a breakout game Saturday night. Just a gut feel. Happy to play the kids and hope in hell they can perform and lift the others like Petty, Fritta, Chandler etc. Also hoping Rivers and Mcvee have blinders and actually break lines and hit up targets. Maybe I've had to many VB's and wine with dinner but what else have we got.
  11. I'm not fussed on who we get AS LONG as those being targeted from other clubs and in the draft are quick and skillful. We need players that can run and break lines and deliver under pressure.
  12. I really don't care who we get rid of. All I want to see is we look for some young kids that can run quick and have SKILLS, SKILLS and more SKILLS. Our current youngsters still have time on their side to improve their skills but maybe, JUST maybe we need to look at Chocco. Everyone throws grenades at Goody and Stafford, but I don't think any or to many have had a go at Williams as head of development. I have not seen any improvement in our current crop of youngsters other than maybe Windsor who I believe is coming along well. The others appear slow and turn the ball over as soon as pressure is applied and also panic due to perceived pressure. You can't improve the skills of the likes of Viney, Clarry etc. but I would love to see some development and improvement by the others in running and actually using the footy when clear or under pressure. IMO that is on Williams.
  13. The only difference between us and the Pies is that their kids have skills and can run quick. Ours are plodders with limited skills. Agree though Layzie we need to play the kids like AMW and Kolt to give them experience for next season. Lack of decent depth means that some who should be dropped will stay in.
  14. Don't blame the backs. I's our normal turnover merchants doing the damage. You would think there is a jumper clash seeing most times we get the ball we kick or handball to a black and white jumper. Clarry needs to look, look and look instead of dump kicks. To finish off we again have no forwards. Fritta missing other than 2 turnovers early and I have no idea why Turner and Chandler are playing. The odd times they get the pill it's also given back. This is not a good look and if the Pies had their full team like us (except Lever) we would be 15 goals down by now. Long back end of season coming up guys unless a miracle happens in the 2nd half.
  15. Bloody hope so. We need him to get back into some form and tomorrow may well be the day.
  16. Sorry rpfc but I beg to differ a bit here. Maybe not 15 goals but maybe 10. Way back in 21 our midfield was young, quick and damaging plus the X factor in Jacko. Whilst they are still Ok other teams with young guns like Freo are just running past our guys and making our guys look slow and silly. Look at who went through their midfield today. Brayshaw, Serong, Jacko, Darcy, Clark (mainly Def but wandered through the mid), Fyfe (not so young), O'Meara, Sharp, Switkowski & Young. Have a VERY close look at these guys compared to what we dished up today. Chalk and Cheese.
  17. On today's performance no way am I dropping Tomlinson. He at least had a go, and his disposal is OK. I would be getting rid of Fritta, Windsor, Rivers, Petty, Salem, Bowey, Sparrow, Chandler, Hunter & McAdam before Tomo. Not one of them turned up and had a go and when they did get the pill just gave it back. Most will stay in the side because as many have said there is not any replacements. This is a huge problem as players in the one's know they will stay even with ordinary efforts. As we have nobody banging the door down, I would have JVR for Petty with Woey for Hunter and hope to hell the others get their stuff together or else this season is going downhill.
  18. Your Mum taught you well !
  19. What hope have you got when we do not have a forward. Fritta runs away from the ball. Would not have a bruise on him. Turner hasn't touched it but has a goal. For Freo. Petty is ordinary at moment. McAdam. Is he playing. Then you throw in our skill level by Rivers, Sparrow and Salem and lack of endeavor from Windsor and Huinter all adds up to us being a middle-ranged side. Long season ahead demonlanders.
  20. Agree still a way to go however he did get 124 SC points yesterday, so he stays in. No way we drop Clarry. A dominant game is coming up.
  21. We seemed very lethargic all over the ground and just had no run. Just hope it was a once off and we get back a bit of a spark against the Saints. What really concerns me though is we seem to be a team of plodders like a Melb Cup field with no Blue Diamond runners. Other than Kozzie we just have no X factor and speed to break lines. AND the worst thing about yesterday was, after the Port fluke win, I had all of my tips correct and said to the other half how's good is this I'm going to get a clean sweep. My Demons changed that !!. Only 8 correct.
  22. Long way to go folks. Weagles exposed us big time particularly in the guts. Back line held up Ok I thought but we were thrashed in the middle which does not help the backs and of course we have no forwards. Nothing at Casey to get excited about so we need to stay as is and hope the Mids in particularly lift. I'm with most and BBB needs to retire. Great bloke but just can't play anymore. Would say there is a few others in this boat but I'm hoping they can improve whereas BBB is finished. And we are killing Max. he struggled in this game and shows signs of falling apart. Big call but we need to rest him next week, back for next couple then the bye. If he plays, I'm having Marshall as my Captain in SC.
  23. Gee that must have lost us the game. Get over it will you!!
  24. That's fine but they have Mills and Parker to get back into that team. Both would be certain starters for us. They are seriously scary at the moment.
  25. Maybe but I hope not. Having TMac, BBB and Petty in Forward line will not help us ONLY if they mark the pill each time as if it goes to ground all 3 are not the fastest or best ground ball players. Would need the smalls to be at their best.
