  1. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
  2. So I am wondering how quick the hand wringing begins if we lose the match tomorrow? Or will people be more at ease with the context of injury impacting continuity and thus performance? (unlike people's reflections on the 2019/2020 seasons)
  3. It's like James Brayshaw has ripped the heart of out of Bob Murphy like Kano in Mortal Kombat!
  4. It's about the mechanics of the machine getting fine tuned, not the outcome. Personnel getting exposure to systems and their own stress inoculation. *must remember this myself if we lose.
  5. I'd laugh mate, but the link was a bit effed.
  6. Yes! How dare she consider other options in a timeframe that suits her and her family and have significant ramifications for their future! Won't she think about the supporters feelings! (that think her sole existence at this point in time is to win matches of football that involve people that they have never met wearing colours that they symbolically love)!
  7. I remember getting a tour of it in 1998 at my first year as a Sports Administration student at Vic Uni - we had a jaunt into town from out at Sunbury... come see the amazing Colonial Stadium we were told... we got to walk around - and then they went to show us how the seating arrangements could be reconfigured in a relatively short space of time from AFL seating to soccer (closer in seats that moved in on wheels ) into a square ground arrangement. The seats then proceed to move... and then we hear grinding noises and then it halts... 20 minutes later pass and then we are told that due to unforseen circumstances the preview of the amazing seating configuration could not take place. 80 uni students start pissing themselves laughing. I'd hazard a guess those mechanics have barely if ever been used since 1998.
  8. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/cats-coup-daisy-pearce-weighs-offer-to-join-geelong-as-afl-assistant-coach-20220301-p5a0s3.html Weigh in, have your say! Should Daisy be able to lead her own life and consider options from other employers in an industry that she respected in, and some of us supporters could shout "Traitor" at her or should she remain 'loyal' no matter what and be loved universally. OR Should Daisy be able to lead her own life and consider options from other employers in an industry that she respected in, and be universally loved?
  9. A rangy forward? He's a poor man Darryl White - and Darryl was quite the silky player.
  10. The Charles Spalding McDonald Cup?
  11. past laurels for sure.
  12. LN: "His defensive mindset, awareness and positioning on the wing got better as the year went on. Early on it seemed he wanted to play his game but in a different position, but from about mid year it seemed to really start clicking for him in how he should be playing his role and how important the defensive aspect was including things like spoils, intercepts and 1 percenters. " seems to = SWYL:"The comment was made that Brayshaw’s role on the wing was not so important and that he is easily replaceable if he decides to leave. " Perhaps you are getting confused with another poster?? Ps...the scoreboard is not the ultimate judge of how one individual in a system has performed...but I guess what you are saying is, if we win...the individual performance levels don't actually matter to you - result was achieved..so...tick! I guess this is really a conversation about being nuanced vs inexact in how we see things. Have a good day!
  13. Mate, you are clearly trolling now. Surely. Just so I am clear, do you have a belief that every individual who played in the 9-0 bracket, had no capacity to improve in their role? Or... is it just Gus who was blindingly brilliant and without peer? or !! EO: Gus, how'd you rate your first half of the year on the wing? AB: 9-0 tells the story Onion! 🤣
  14. Ugh, not sure why I am weighing in. But I'm so unclear how you got to what you did with @Lord Nev's post. Perhaps the more useful conversation with Angus would be - ' Gus, how did you see the first half of the year, playing the wing role?' I've only heard him speak limited, I am assuming he would give an honest answer, so, what would your take on his 'honest' answer to the question be @Sir Why You Little?
  15. Fortunately that's not a priority to the AFL.
  16. Well, implicit in that headline is, who they are not chasing, and for what reasons.
  17. The AFL should totally have gold embossing for the GF winner for the previous year for the subsequent season. Further, a series of stars, should now be mandatory, representative of how many premierships you have won. That would look farrrrking sexy. A la...
  18. Norm Smith Medallist All Australian ————> HoF?
  19. Yet the commentators simplify it for the masses, and assume that the midfield group are only operating well if clean take-aways occur.
  20. Erm... already done methinks... Unless of course you think respect is only earned after 2 consecutive premierships? But I can imagine luminaries of the game such as L.Piconne, A Carazzo, B Stanton and T.Richards are turning in their proverbial existential football graves that 'pressure' doesn't mean Melbourne choke anymore. We've all moved on from that story, surely?
  21. (for the sake of getting to 100) Am I the only one on here, who feels that 'Bang, Bang, Bang' undersold the occasion, and wished like hell the Channel 7 version had someone else in commentary at the time, rather than JB or Bristle?
